Move SSL Certificate From CPanel Server To Plesk Server
Oct 23, 2009I need to move an SSL certificate from a cPanel server to a Plesk server.
View 3 RepliesI need to move an SSL certificate from a cPanel server to a Plesk server.
View 3 RepliesI have a certificate generated in cpanel (whm), I have all the necessary keys (RSA, CSR, CRT + I bought rapidssl cert. according to these values), but I would like to use the certificate within IIS.
Does anyone know, how to import these keys properly into IIS (Windows 2003 Server x64)?
As IIS stores the private key somehow in the registry, I do not know how to proceed.
Is there a way to backup Plesk and all configuration, databases, websites and restore to a new server with new IP's easily?
We want to move a Plesk installation from one host to our local data center where we will install Plesk locally. We are running Plesk on Virtuozzo at the current installation.
I’ve read the documentations of (PBAS, Plesk, and Securing Websites).how to add SSL Certificate to our Webmail? In addition, I need to know, how to request CSR key and install SSL for our mail server in order for us to protect our emails and to use the SSL Protocol in mail softwares such as Outlook? I will explain the scenario in details:
1- We have (www.example.com) which is our "Plesk Server hostname" and a subscription in our "Plesk Server".
2- We have (pbas.example.com) which is our "PBAS Server hostname" and it's not a subscription in our "Plesk Server".
3- We have (account.example.com) which is a "Subscription" in our "Plesk Server".
Here are the DNS records of our domain and subdomains:
Host-Type-Data
-A-192.168.1.30
www-A-192.168.1.30
mail-A-192.168.1.30
pbas-A-192.168.1.31
account-A-192.168.1.32
-MX-example.com.
how to generate CSR key for each domain/subdomain and how to install the SSL for it? Our "Plesk" is 11.5 and installed on CentOS 6.4.
I'm running Parallels Plesk 12 on Debian GNU/Linux 7.6...I have a valid certificate for my mail server : mail.mydomain.tld but I don't find the place in Plesk 12 to put it.

Got kicked from the server, and now I have no possibility to access my server.
ACTUAL RESULT
Nothing.
Got File Access with a recovery system, but this isn't really working.
EXPECTED RESULT
A working Plesk Panel would be nice.

I have found this: [URL] .... and was wondering is this the correct procedure to update the SSL cert?
We are migrating an existing multi-site Windows2003/IIS6 web hosting system with
CFusion8
MS Access backend databases
SQL2000 backend databases
http and https site access
to
Windows2012 R2/IIS8.5 with
CFusion10
MS Access backend databases (not updated)
SQL2014 databases
http and https site access
On the new system we are looking to add Plesk12 to give users easier management of their own websites.I am about to install the trail version of Plesk12 WebHOST.I have the following questions:
1. Can we use the plesk migration tool to move the websites from the old IIS6 to the new IIS8.5 server?
2. If not, am I right to think we would migrate from IIS6 to IIS8.5 manually and then import these websites into Plesk12 from the new server?
3. Can I migrate the existing websites piecemeal over onto the new server and into the Plesk control panel at the same time as creating brand new websites under the control panel?
4. Once Plesk is installed on the new IIS server is there a KB article on how to add all these existing websites to Plesk - I could not find one.
5. Is the local windows administrator account used for the install used to run any services?
Could someone tell me what I need to change in the DNS zone for when moving servers, to minimize downtime

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to move all files in the public_html folder from one server to the other. The way I used to do it was download all the files to my computer, then upload them again to the new server. This is a hassle and time consuming, obviously.
My question is, what is the SSH command to do the following:
- Zip the public_html folder
- Move or Copy zipped file from server #1 to server #2
- Unzip it the public_html folder
I figure this is the easiest way to do what I'm trying to do, unless you know of a better and faster way.
I want to move around 20Gb of files from one shared hosting account with custom contraol panel to a cpanel VPS.
Is there anyway of transferring all the files to new host without downloading and uploading to the new host. Coz i have normal DSL and 20 GB downloading and uploading can take years.
There are some forum files CHMOD to specific values if you can transfer them without resetting them in new host also cool.
both servers have SSH and FTP
getting my SSL certificate loaded properly onto my dedicated server.
The initial problem was with when I tried to log in via WHM or cPanel, I got this notice displayed on the page:
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.
The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website.

Continue to this website (not recommended).”
I figured that to get rid of the notice displayed, then I would need a SSL certificate, so I bought one from Trustwave.
Everything went okay with the initial download and things were running smooth until I got to installing the intermediate certificate but I just can't find
where the installation instructions say to place the certificate.
Downloading the certificates isn't the problem. It is the instructions (see below) which were copied from Trustwave’s own “sslcertificates/install” link which tell me what to do, all okay, just I can't find where to install the intermediate certificate in WHM!
Instructions given by Trustwave are -
"Save the xroot.crt file to a directory on your server, and be sure to note
the directory path. Generally, you can find Apache's configuration file in
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf, but you may need to search for it. Sometimes the SSL configurations are in a file called ssl.conf.
Open the configuration file in a text editor and search for the virtual
host. You can search by your server's address or IP address. Once you find the virtual host which matches your host, look for two lines that start with SSLCertificateFile and SSLCertificateKeyFile. Add (or adjust) a line right below those two that shouldread: SSLCACertificateFile /path/xroot.crt
Save and close the configuration file."
I don't know where to find places such as "Apache's configuration file in
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf" and "ssl.conf" - in WHM/cPanel does anybody know where these places are? And I have just noticed that I'm back to getting the "untrusted website stuff" displayed when I try to log onto either cpanel or WHM in my server.
transfer an SSL certificate from our current server to our new one. They both run on Apache.
Is it just a case of transferring the SSL license key and cert over? What needs to be added in Apache's httpd.conf file?
I'm going to be moving to a new server soon. Does anyone have a list, or recommended reading describing what one needs to do when moving to a new server?
I can't seem to find any info on this.. probably because i'm not wording it correctly
What is the fastest way to move all accounts from old servers to new servers with minimum downtime for customers' websites? Both servers are using WHM/Cpanel and i need to keep reseller priviledges and packages also, which system files should i copy to new server?
View 9 Replies View RelatedHow can i move my website from one server to another?
There are 15gb of files so its not an easy move.
I tried moving it with WHM backup and restore thing but that just messed everything up.
Is there a more simple and efficient way?
I've been with LayeredTech and my yearly renewal is up. Their pricing went up significantly, so I'm shopping at SoftLayer amongst others. My site gets roughly 700k unique visitors and 1.8 million pageviews. These numbers will likely go up. I run vBulletin and Joomla dbs. I have two identical servers (one has cPanel). They are configured:
Dual Quad Core 5310 Intel XEON's 1.60 GHz-- Dual 73GB SCSI drives - 4GB RAM -- 8GB Cache.
The webserver uses Litespeed as an apache replacement.
Q: They are offering upgrades to either Xeon 5320 or 5335. Does anyone have a recommendation on either?
Q: I've heard that database servers don't necessarily need as much spec wise as webservers. Should I upgrade my webserver? Downgrade the mySQL server?
Unfortunately, I need to make this move today to get the pricing and put the wheels in motion, so I don't get billed by Layered Tech for 1 year of service.
I have purchaseed server hosting with with domain, now I want to move this site on another server I asked my old server administrator to give domain registration detail but he said he can't because there are lot more site he had registered from that account
Can any one give me solution on this?
i have my own box for my forum .. now i shared my box with friend's , but in reall they a freak friend's , just to be in safe brother, am looking to know what function i can disable in php.ini or any problem/tool to prevent anybody / attacker * nobody* permission to move in the server via his shell script..
