I just switch to a new server and I found out that hotmails is marking all my mail as spam, it goes directly to the junk mail folder, however gmail and yahoo is ok.
I have a broken reverse dns thought that my be but I'm not sure, anyone have any experience regarding this?
I have problem, because all e-mails I send from my server (even using e-mail client) to hotmail.com mailboxes are moved to "junk mail" folder. I tried all settings mentioned at [url]... My domain has SPF records (mails pass spf tests), rev-dns and it isn't blacklisted anywhere. My domain name is fusker.pl. What should I do ? I contacted Hotmail, but it'll probably take ages to get answer from them This issue is serious, because 90% of ppl on my mailing list uses hotmail.com To make everything even more interesting, e-mails from my other server don't reach hotmail.com mailboxes at all (everything is configured right and there is no error msg in logs, only "message queued for delivery") - however I don't care about it right now, because there are no active websites on it.
Here's one of such e-mails with headers:
X-Message-Delivery: Vj0zLjQuMDt1cz0wO2k9MDtsPTA7YT0w X-Message-Status: n:0 X-SID-PRA: fusker (a) fusker.pl X-Message-Info: 6sSXyD95QpUKMgCpB3f+kFGcJ7U9m+RjqnnKGAX7qL5UKJmZupaOopXri+sb63FJMarxyFVF+cosfafCZDUyTg== Received: from fusker.pl ([66.84.48.234]) by bay0-mc6-f23.bay0.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.2668); ....
I have different adresses configured with several domains on the same server. All the emails send to gmail/hotmail adresses are marked spam.
Looking in the headers everything seems fine, including SPF:
Delivered-To: xxx@gmail.com Received: by 10.202.174.138 with SMTP id x132csp563903oie; Wed, 20 May 2015 04:53:19 -0700 (PDT) X-Received: by 10.180.109.136 with SMTP id hs8mr40446245wib.73.1432122799197; Wed, 20 May 2015 04:53:19 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: <x@x.nl> Received: from x.net (x.net. [xx])
I have tried to send emails to gmail from horde and form php but the are mark as spam even if the gmail headers are ok:
Delivered-To: my_gmail_account@gmail.com Received: by 10.112.205.233 with SMTP id lj9csp202933lbc; Wed, 7 Aug 2013 05:58:22 -0700 (PDT) X-Received: by 10.15.31.9 with SMTP id x9mr2966600eeu.103.1375880301851; Wed, 07 Aug 2013 05:58:21 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: <info@my_domain.com>
I just got a vps and I realised that all email sent to hotmail automatically goes into the spam box (until i approve an email address as being "safe").
I believe that hotmail's senderid and a spf record is the way to go
I have already submitted the senderid form saying i dont have an spf record for the "domains to be added to the senderid program", i listed a couple of my domains.
1) do i still need an spf record?
2) in the future, will i need to tell customers to use outgoing mailservers under one of the domains i submitted (in the senderid form)?
I have a VPS and I am wondering if anyone knows any way in which to make it so that emails sent from the server are not seen as spam by hotmail and the likes.
I have a dedicated server in which i host 4 web sites using plesk one of them is mysite.com. That one is also set for ns1.mysite.com ns2.mysite.com.
(all domain names below are just example names)
Dns records for my apple.com orange.com and banana.com uses ns1.mysite.com and ns2.mysite.com my name server is also in the same machine.
In mysite2.com dns settings are as follows.
Code: 80.111.11.11 / 24PTRorange.com orange.com.NSns1.mysite.com. orange.com.NSns2.mysite.com. orange.com.A80.111.11.11 orange.com.MX (10)mail.mysite.com. orange.com.TXTv=spf1 a mx include:gmail.com,yahoo.com,hotmail.com ~all ftp.orange.com.CNAMEorange.com. mail.orange.com.A80.111.11.11 webmail.orange.com.A80.111.11.11 www.orange.com.CNAMEorange.com. 80.111.11.11 is dedicated ip for orange.com.
The PROBLEM:
The thing is whenever the server sends email it is flagged spam by yahoo, hotmail etc. I have created SPF for my orange.com but it is still marked as spam...
I have checked dns report for both mysite.com and orange.com but they seem to be OK with no warnings either.
I want to create a spf record or make somthing so the emails does not marked as spam.
One of my hosted domains have an email problem, every email account that is hosted on that site, is able to send and recieve email, but when sending to gmail or hotmail, it is delivered as SPAM.
Someone told me it is because this domain doesnt have a MX record at the DNS zone..
What is the sintax for the MX record ? I have enterd A(ddress) and CNAME records, but never MX records.. can anyone tell me how to do it so I can send mail in the way it should be.
i'm thinking about building a separate mail server away from my cpanel/whm machine. that mail server will be located on a different IP address with "clean" record so that business email won't get deleted my strict rules of hotmail.
can you please tell me, generally, about this "buidling separate mail server", i.e. what MTA, software, web-mail software, will it be worth? ,etc. Pointing me in the right direction will allow me to complete the project in the shortest time.
i have a very strange problem with hotmail service i can't send any email from my domains to any hotmail account and i can't send any email from hotmail account to any domain use my IP
when i send email using my mail server i got this reply
SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<myemail@mydomain.com> SIZE=2402: host mx1.hotmail.com [65.54.244.136]: 550 DY-002 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. The likely cause is a compromised or virus infected server/personal computer. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. i contact hotmail and they only reply my with AUTOMATIC EMAIL Asking my if i can update my MSN SOFTWARE
In the old vps, the sending notfications such as reply new topic ( watch ), e-mail activations to new members notifications of the private messages were working very fine and each memeber which has valid e-mail will receiev these notifications from my forum.
The old vps using sendmail.
But the new one using qmail and it is will configured and the e-mail notifications are recieved which means that it is working except the ones who use hotmail accounts begin not recieve anything, the others e-mails are recieved well.
The files are the same, excpet the old uses sendmail, the new vps uses qmail.
After many days of searching how to solve this I decided to contact the support team.
They replied to me that they should do to overcome hotmail receive email problem, reverse PTR record needs to be added and to add SPF records under my domain's DNS zone.
They did and they told me to wait 24 hours, I waited for 4 days and it did not work.
I went back to them and again they look closely to my qmail configurations and it is fine and working and also they made an hotmail account to test and send e-mail form my mail server and it had been accepted which means that my domain and my new IP is not blocked by hotmail.
So their is nothing wrong excpet that email notifications from my phpbb it still won't go to members who have hotmail.
Very strange if the hotmail hates php mail scripts like phpbb why before in the old vps was like, and now suddenly hates.
I have a problem with hotmail that outgoing message not reached by hotmail only . all other mail is ok and spf recoed is pass . DomainKey-Status: good (test mode) the server with softlayer and i take new server at softlayer and still problem
i take new server from theplanet and i see the same problem!
all microsoft hotmail support responde is same : We have identified that messages from your IP xx.xx.xx.xx are being filtered based on the recommendations of the SmartScreen filter. SmartScreen is the spam filtering technology developed and operated by Microsoft. SmartScreen is built around the technology of machine learning. SmartScreen's filters are trained to recognize what is spam and what isn't spam. In short, we filter incoming emails that look like spam. I am not able to go into any specific details about what these filters specifically entail, as this would render them useless.
i make what all on postmaster.live.com but no way msg's are sent from ssh . webmail , outlook express and nobody all same

I'm in the process of trying to contact Hotmail. I thought it was an SPF issue but that did not fix it. I then thought rDNS, but on an old server the rDNS also pointed to the DC and not to the server hostname and it worked fine. I'm going ahead to fix the rDNS, but I'm not sure that it will fix this.
Anyway, does anyone know the solution here by chance?
Here's the error message (a 550):

On the main mail server I run from my site I have being receiving a lot of issues when trying to send mail to hotmail. I do not receive any error messages, the mail is just never received it is filtered out(it does not even show up in the spam filter). I am not a spammer and have never been. My IP and domain check out fine when I put them through spam databases. So is there some trick to getting your mail accepted?
i have problem in my server from 2 weeks ago server stop sending mail to yahoo and hotmail but to gmail send good without any problem i make SPF and add it for all domains after that mail worked Good in 1 day after that the problem come again
I'm trying to send mails to yahoo and hotmail from my vps and the result was the mail ended up in Spam folder in yahoo and didn't receive any mails in hotmail. When I check the Full MEssage Header in yahoo, the sender was "Sender: Nobody <nobody@host.mydomain.com>" Do I have to set to a name or something ?
My rDNS and SPF was set up correctly, I think. domainkeys=neutral (no sig)
I have contacted hotmail asking why automated emails such as registration verification are being blocked and they said that my server's IP was on a blacklist for spam. I never spam and I do not think a bot has phished using my server's IP. Anyway, if I were to switch server IPs would that solve the problem?
A better title might be "hotmail or yahoo won't accept the emails from sendmail."
I have sendmail version: 8.13.4
I have the only modification I can remember doing is: MASQUERADE_AS(`ipalaces.org')dnl
I can send emails perfectly to gmail accounts. Here is a sucessfull output of an email send to gmail:

This is a test of the body.
I originally thought the reason hotmail or yahoo didn't receive my emails was because I had no reverse DNS for the IP I was sending the emails out with. Therefore I had my VPS provider create one for my IP. It now reflects ipalaces.org with the IP I use to send out emails (64.74.153.24)
Even after the reverse DNS in place, hotmail nor yahoo could recieve my emails. I am now pretty much stump as to why. I have googled and scanned various other solutions and I havent found anything.
Here is a verbose output of using sendmail to an hotmail address of mine:

The main thing that strikes out to me is that hotmail says "Queued mail for delivery" whereas Gmail normally says "OKAY". It seems as hotmail gets the email, and then decides it's no good. I don't know if my IP is blacklisted or I have to change something in my configuration from 127.0.0.1 to my IP, or what I have to do.
