CentOS 4.4 And Intel Dual Core 2
I'm trying to install CentOS 4.4 in dual core 2 box without success, can't even finish installation. Read about a bug closed because it doesn't happen in CentOS 5, thus leaving me no option but to use unstable cPanel 11. Does anyone have any clue about this? Seems strange that there's no workaround.

How Do I Setup A Ubuntu DomU Guest On A CentOS / Fedora Core XEN Server
how to install Ubuntu (either 7.10 or 8.04) as a XEN domU guest on a CentOS 5 / Fedora Core 8 XEN dom0 server? Fast Webhost, Little Disk Space, With Php, Mysql, Phpmyadmin, And Alot Of Bandwidth
The most important requirement is that the webhost must be fast. It must have alot of bandwidth. The disc space is not so important. 200 MB would be enough. It must have PHP, MySQL and phpmyadmin installed. Must be accesable through FTP. There are offcourse more requirements. But the main thing is that i want it to be fast. My pages will be only informative and exists of just mainly text and an image every now and then. Do you know any fast webhosts that is good to handle websites with large amounts of visitors? I'm looking for something around 6 dollars per month. I dont know much about webhosting at all, so i'd appreciate any help i can get Also i see websites where you can register a domain. But the prices vary, isn't a domain just a domain? What makes this price difference?

Tagbridge/PC-Core
(By anyone from Tag/PCcore I mean staff - too late to modify my title) I don't know if you have been getting my ticket requests (which keep closing), but now I am getting annoyed here! About two days ago, my VPS got terminated. I set it to terminate on the date of the next billing period (this coming 13th) - HOWEVER to my disgust it was terminated three days early! I had not finished removing my stuff from the VPS, and as a result, I have lost some of my site data. Now to make it even more annoying, I have contacted Tagbridge now four times. Twice by email, once by the (strangely new) support system at support.tagbridge.com, and at Pc-core.net. And to cheek me off, any ticket I sent in got closed with no reply. Now I am not happy, as you can gather me ranting on here, but here, I may be able to get answers, as I am getting none at Tagbridge/PC-Core. If there is any staff of those companies here, please do speak up. I'm listening and waiting...

Core Spilling
A common problem in shared hosting environments is where a user uses a malfunctioning script of some sort and it runs wild. Say this is a PHP script, so in this case it is one Apache thread by my understanding. Am I correct in assuming that this one thread will only be able to abuse just one core, because the errant script is one thread, thus leaving the other cores of the server untouched? What other ways and means are you currently practising to ensure resources aren't swallowed by an user-gone-wild in a shared environment?

Dual Core Atoms
where is currently the "best" places to rent a dual core atom with about 2gb of ram, storage requirements are very low sub 50gb. I am interested in getting two of these in total in different dcs (US/EU only). Also something which I feel would be interesting is getting one up with a SSD. Has any one come across any where offering this? There seems to be alot of variation on prices directly in the atom niche, and then we you compare it to the same companies offering on their bigger brothers (quad core xyz) it makes things much more confusing. I have no interest in cheaper 5 year old hardware which might compare speed wise

Stay Away From PC-Core.net
how a webhosting compay name PC-core.net troubled me. If you have forgotten the case; here is brief overview what happened, I tired ordering new dedicated box (was an offer) but on payment page they had problem. So few days later i told there was problem with payment page and couldn't pay. So they said now its fixed pay now then will setup a DEDICATED boy with PHP/Apache/MySQL configured with required libraries as i had told them. So I even ordered Cpanel/WHM along. Thought was a good deal. I got an email saying will be setup in FEW HOURS. Waiting more than 5-6 hours; when enquired about it didn't get any reply. So in haste FILED CHARGEBACK in paypal. As soon as i filed they started responding saying the server was on its way... HAD they told that before clearly I wouldn't have to take such step. So, I closed the dispute. When I got my box, It was missing many stuff. FIRST EXTRA backup HDD that i ordered. SECOND php was not configured to work along with MySQL and other libs were missing. When asked about the issue; for HDD was told will be added in few hours later. So If i had not checked properly, they would have simply charged for that and would have never installed it. Now when asked about second case; they told its not their work to install all PHP/MySQL stuff... Why did they promise in the first place about the thing they were never going to deliver? Ok, I tried my hands with WHM/Cpanel to get MySQL and Php working but I failed. So i thouhgt of cancelling the whole server itself. After getting rude replies regarding any support. So I had made payment on 31st may 2008 for server. I cancelled server on 10th June 2008 (both from their client area and sending email to their support also). I lost $120 bucks. Did get a lesson there are companies who promises BUT DONT DELIVER. Now today suddenly I get an email from their support THAT I AM OBLIGED to pay another MONTH BILL too.... HERE IS EXACT EMAIL ========================================= Thank you for choosing PC Core for your hosting needs. This email is a reminder that you currently have a balance with PC Core, due to an invoice that is been created. You are currently responsible for paying Invoice #5222 which was generated on 11/06/2008. This invoice is currently due on 25/06/2008. According to our records, you currently pay with PayPal. Please submit this payment using the information below to avoid possible service interruption. Invoice: 5222 Invoice Ammount: $119.90 USD Invoice Due Date: 25/06/2008 ================================ Now why am I still obliged to pay. WHEN I HAD paid on 31st may 2008 for SERVER till June 30th, 2008? Are these guys trying to irritate me first by GIVING NO REFUND to me and sending such email EVEN AFTER I HAVE CANCELLED WITH THEM?

Beware Pc-core.net
I have had the hardest time contacting pc-core.net and I just wanted to share my experiences with everyone. I ordered a dual-xeon 2.8ghz from pc-core.net last month. The first 20 days of service were fantastic, all of my support issues were handled promptly and with okay results. Afterwords things quickly went downhill. My server disconnected me from SSH about every 1 - 2 minutes. Every attempt I made to contact this company failed; numerous support tickets, 3 phone calls, 10 e-mails (All of which are down by the way. I get mail not sent errors for every one.). After a few days of dealing with this frustration I decided to attempt another support ticket (Don't try their live support system as they apparently never use it.). After many login attempts and a few recover password attempts I found that my account was either suspended or deleted. Just great, because I did not realize I was on a paypal subscription and had just been billed for this server. I immediately attempted every possible means to contact this company for a refund, including the phone number listed on their paypal account (This number doesn't even have an answering machine. I assumed it was because they were tired of hearing all of the complaints their dedicated customers were leaving.). Yesterday I received an e-mail stating my server would now be managed by burst.net. I received no warnings or prior e-mails, it was just spontaneous. After logging in to my burst.net account, another attempt for a refund, I found that my invoice had not been paid. I contacted burst.net's customer service and they confirmed my invoice for this month had not been paid. Awesome! After several days of ripping my hair out and being forced to open a Paypal dispute, which I have found can only be used for tangible products, I am still out $79.95.

Quad Core For Db Server
About to pickup a server strictly for use with MySQL databases. Right now there's zero price difference between the Intel 5110 dual core and the 5310 quad cores. Looking around a bit online, it seems like the quad core is of no benefit (or lesser performance) than the dualie. That sql cannot take advantage of it yet. Is this accurate? If so, where do quad core CPU's shine at this point in time?

Fedora Core 6 Compatibility
I have bought a PowerEdge 2900 Quad-Core Xeon E5345 2.33 Ghz Processor 2GB FB 667MHz Memory 146 GB SAS hard drive PERC 5/i integrated RAID Controller Card I have installed Fedora Core 6 on this. But somehow it fails to work.It keeps hanging anytime anywhere. Can anybody help me know whether this is compatible with each other? I tried closing some services and work it,but the attempt was in vane. I have googled alot over this and cant get it worked. I also tried to install from different CDs,but no luck.
