Resolving Www.xxxx-xxxx.com... Failed: Temporary Failure In Name Resolution.
I have searched google and these forums for this error but nothing came up that was relevant to me as i have not changed any server configurations what so ever at all, have not done ANYTHING to my server accept use the wget command since i got the server.
When i type the urls in normal in a browser they work fine.
But now, Now matter where i wget a file from i get this error

Child Process Xxxx Still Did Not Exit, Sending A SIGKILL

Thousands Of Core.xxxx Files Fill The Hard Drive
I am having problem with a server. On all sites on the server start appearing core.xxxx files that in result fill server. Quotas were disabled because some people had issues logging in on because of error. Quote: Sorry for the inconvenience! Cpsrvd Failed @ ... Failure Reason: Unable To Connect To Port 2086
I have tried everything I know (I know not much) I have rebooted it multiple times. I have terminated lots of account and now I have only 2 or three accounts. I have removed all the fishy scripts. Done everything I can. But it just becomes un responsive within a minute of re booting. Its a Pentium 4 Single Core server. 1GB Ram and 160GB harddisk with cpane+WHM. I get error cpsrvd failed @ Thu Dec 11 19:50:43 2008. A restart was attempted automagically. Failure Reason: Unable to connect to port 2086 I cannot even connect to server because within minutes the server hangs.

Site Www Does Not Work But Without Www Does
Like the title says, I just moved my site over to my own server, and it is running cpanel. Anyways the main site [url]works, but [url]does not. What is really strange is, [url]works fine as does [url] So I figure there is something I have to do to get it all to work right. The other issue is that if you are logged into [url]but goto [url], you are not logged in anymore, but if you go back to the original link, then you are still logged in. This happened on the other guys server before with the main site as well.

Domain Resolution
I have couple of clients using web hosting services for their .in domains. Half of them time it resolves and half of the time it does not. I went to the office of the client and took traceroute / ping reports to main IP + DNS and it resolved fine without any issue BUT the sites does not resolve. Sometimes it resolves with www but does not work without it and sometimes it works WITHOUT www and does not work with www. I talked with the Data center and as I guessed they were unable to trace the problem as both resolved fine @ their end and network was also fine. What can be the problem? If its .in registry issue then howcome other .in domains works fine @ those PCs but those hosted @ my server.

Is there a club for hosting companies to belong to that might seek to arbirate when there's a dispute ? The company (in USA) hosting my sites has decided to withdraw support. They say I was wasting their time; I say they were avoiding addressing the problem. I don't want to stay with a company that throws a fit if you criticise them, so it's time to move on. Libnss-ldap And Host Resolution
I end up working on about 5-6 different desktops regularly. I shorthand most of my servers in /etc/hosts so rather than typing www13.domain.com I shorthand it to www13. So rather than try to maintain each of these 5-6 hosts db's (and rather than setting up something more elaborate), I decided to take one of my personal ldap servers, added ou=Hosts,dc=domain,dc=com, and set it up as an ipHost objectclass (with the machine name being the cn, and the IP being ipHostNumber). I then installed libnss-ldap and the ldap client on my machine, editing /etc/ldap.conf by adding the base and uri, /etc/libnss-ldap.conf adding the base, ldap_version, uri, and setting nss_base_hosts to ou=Hosts,dc=domain,dc=com. I then edited /etc/nsswitch.conf and set my hosts: record to include ldap at the end. When I do getent hosts, the hosts are listed as they should be (ip machinename). However, when I try to ping or resolve any of the machine names, it fails. getent hosts|grep testldap 24.62.234.23 testldap ping testldap ping: unknown host testldap

DNS Resolution Issues. Whos Fault Is It
Recently ive gone through lot's of providers, and my latest one computhings.co.uk (was recommended) has recently lost support (their license expired) and my domain is having problems! I tried a tracert to track the problem and i get an error in resolving the domain name. My DNS servers are set to where they should be, and i can get to the servers via a web browser (ns1/ns2) but when accessing my domain i get a server not found. Is this my fault or their fault? As if its mine i will hang on and if its theirs im moving servers today!

BQBackup, Constant Issues For Weeks With No Resolution In Sight
We first noticed the issue on July 19th, Backups were taking a while to transfer from our own servers, and we were getting tickets from clients asking why this was happening. At the same time, it took about 4-5 minutes to log into the backup console. Issue seemed to correct itself so that backups were possible, and we assumed that scott would be aware of it and would work to resolve it. Again on the 29th it slowed completely again. We immediately dispatched an email to their support email asking whats up, gave them detailed information such as access to the script and the output so he could monitor it. The same day a few hours later we got a response that he would run the script and monitor it. On the 31st, after not getting an update I asked what was going on. He said he ran the script, it seemed to stall for long periods of time and he would know more in the afternoon. After not getting an update for ~5 days I asked what was going on and I expressed that i was not happy with the lack of communication/updates ont he situation. He updated me later that day saying that we weren't the only ones being affected. Fair enough, he is working on it. Thats all I wanted to hear. Now ever since that email I received on the 5th (AUG) it has been up and down and all over the place. After seeing him post on the forums I sent him a PM (10th August), summed up it was basically saying I had an issue, and I need it fixed. I figured since the PM system is usually pretty good at not losing them that he would see it and respond accordingly, that way there was no chance of it being lost from point A to point B as an email. Well to this day, no response nor resolution. I really have exhausted all points of communication, and I want to make it clear that I am not bashing them, when it works it's great. But maybe someone else affected can provide more insight..

Heres the thing, I purchased a domain today at 123-reg.co.uk And well, I'm planning on creating a forum for this domain under another host. But I will be getting that host in a few months, since I'm going on vacation for 6 weeks and its unnecesary to already pay a host. So I'm looking for a free host, that supports nameserver change. Because I wan't to have a temporary page with Coming Soon text on it and a contact form, so the host should be able to use php also. This is just till I'm back from the vacation and have the new host. Anybody knows a nice one? Also another question, this is my first time using a seperate domain from host. Getting Www.domain.com To Work, Domain.com Resolves Correctly, Just Not With Www
Okay guys, a quick question for all the gurus out there. I'll admit I'm a bit embarassed posting such an easy question, but give a guy a break, I've been using managed servers for god knows how long and I've finally decided to take a dive into administration. Everything is firewalled and secured properly, I'm just having trouble getting the ServerAlias to work right. What happens is I go into my browser and enter in [url]walaa! It works. Now, when I enter in [url], it does not resolve. I have checked with "dig" the domain settings and it looks as though all of the nameservers are set up fine, this is an apache problem. I'm running apache 2.2 on Ubuntu 7.10 for all those who are interested. IP Resolving To A Different Location
I have a local server named as 'EPBX' which monitors the working of the telephone system and makes their log entries. Recently its HDD partition got crashed due to which it was formatted and had re-installed Windows server 2003 after which I am facing some problems as given below: - The IP address assigned to this server is 192.168.100.2. I am able to ping the IP but unable to take the console of the software from some other local PC. - Also when I try to trace the IP using the tracert command first it resolves to the ISP's router and then to the server. DNS Resolving
We have a full rack of servers at an XO datacenter. Most of these servers consistently need to go out to the internet to retrieve various URLs. Essentially, the servers are spidering, like Google does. Lately we have noticed that the DNS servers that XO provided, which are in the /etc/resolv.conf files for each server, have been randomly failing. Is there any reason that I can't set the servers to go to the root and use that for DNS? I need to bypass the XO DNS servers some how. One of the options that I am considering is setting up a dedicated server that can provide recursive DNS to my other servers and have that server ask the root DNS system for records when it is not in the cache. The other option that I am considering is finding a company that I can buy the ability to do recursive dns on. The onyl one that I have found so far is DynDNS though, and I have been looking for about two hours. Domains Resolving Worldwide ON/OFF
We have few domains which resolve properly for say 1 day and again next day its not resolving. Sometimes this ON/OFF happens several times a day. This happens when we use the 2 name servers assigned to the server. this problem does not happen if we use a manged DNS service for the domain names.

Lame Server Resolving
i got too many logs on Lame-server resolving i my log. every second about 10-20. Jul 23 11:31:33 ns1 named[15967]: lame server resolving '92-49-205-1.dynamic.peoplenet.ua.mydnsdomain.net' (in 'mydnsdomain.net'?): my.ip.add.ress#53 Jul 23 11:31:33 ns1 named[15967]: lame server resolving 'www.mydomain.com.mydnsdomain.net' (in 'mydnsdomain.net'?): my.ip.add.ress#53 so i turned of the logging and start search the web on possible reasons. However the only once i found where mostly "in case of the domain is not hosted on the server". But in my case the domains in questions are on my server and show in the log as lame server resolv. They say it has to do with server is not authoritive for that domain. So how i am gonna fix this? With digs, and nslookups, i got not errors at all. But if i try to change a DNS i got a message back from a provider saying that the domains is broken.

Domain Names Not Resolving
Ocassionally some users have problems to connect the their websites, they can connect to the server via browser and can ping it and tracert the server IPs fine, they can also browse domains having a dedicated IP address. But they can't connect or ping their websites from their end, basically I think the domain name is not resolving. From our end and the rest of users everything works fine. Once I get a complain of this type I try whatever I can do Check to see if their IP is not blacklisted Restart named service Restart apache service But most of the time this doesn't work at all. Exactly as the problem comes it goes, nothing I did seems to have any effect on the solution. It goes and ocassionally reappears. Would you suggest me what would I do to find where the problem is and try to solve it.

New VPS RDNS Not Resolving
Just got set up with a new VPS and while looking to see if my IPs were blacklisted, I came across a RDNS warning. I've been on some form of shared hosting since I've been on the Internet, so much of the VPS stuff is new to me (though it is managed). Everything I've read says that RDNS is important for sending mail so the receiving end can verify where mail is coming from, but I thought I would ask here regarding my specific issue. I've got four IPs on my account. The first ip, x.x.x.67, is the host IP(ie host.example.com). Most of my domains are using that IP at the moment since I just got set up, but I do have another domain on the last IP in my account, x.x.x.70. When I first did a RDNS check on my main IP I got a domain that I've never seen before, and all other IPs on my account don't resolve at all. I sent a ticket off to the host, and they set the RDNS record correctly for the main IP on my account, but the other three still fail to resolve. When I asked the host about it in a ticket, the response that I got was Quote: Normally, we set RDNS for the main IP address to hostname of the server. The RDNS for your server has been setup properly. Please get back to us if you need any further assistance. So basically I'm clueless. Does it matter that the other three IPs I have available don't resolve at all? The domain on the x.x.x.70 IP, which doesn't resolve, is an e-commerce site that depends almost exclusively on e-mail for its business. Doesn't the lack of RDNS resolution mean that I'll be out of luck sending mail to AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc etc on that account? Even though I don't have sites on the middle two IP addresses yet, I fully plan to put sites there within the next couple of months... could they have the same problem? It's frustrating since I obviously have no control over RDNS records, and the host's staff is being a little obtuse about it.

Domain Not Resolving Properly
A client recently moved one of their domains to one&one (night mare I know) he then asked us to repoint the domain name to our servers using out name servers. We have done this and it is not resolving to our server. The problem is that the site is no longer showing and their emails are down. We've just been told by our data centre that our server that we use to host our web design clients has been disconnected due to massive volumes of traffic from or to the server. DNS Issues - Domain Not Resolving Sometimes
Does anyone have experience with DNS issues? I'm hosting a few sites with LiquidWeb (freeteams.net and laxteams.net are the big ones), who's been a terrific host, but I occasionally have some issues trying to access my sites. It occurs only occasionally (maybe 10-20 people have let me know in the past year), but with users in different locations and on different ISPs. It seems to also only occur for a couple of hours. When they try to type in a specific domain, it won't show up in their browser (browser-independent, I've tried it in Chrome, IE, and Firefox.) However, when they try the IP address directly, the site works. I have about 4 sites on one server, all with their own IP address, and the issue doesn't affect all the domains at the same time. LiquidWeb says it's an ISP issue (they've checked all the settings on the server, and everything looks ok.) I tend to agree with them, because when I or my users switch from using their ISP's DNS server to OpenDNS' server, it works. However, it's happened at a number of different ISPs around the U.S., including universities, which makes me think there's something I can do to solve the problem. Also, I don't want users to have to change their computer settings. Also, while I can't access the domain in the browser, I am able to ping the domain, and it will respond.

Resolving DomainKeys Install Issue
I am having a problem with the installation of DomainKeys on my server. I have a dedicated server from Hosting Matters and I have DomainKeys installed for another domain on the same server. The problem that i'm running into is that I have a domain that is an addon account of another (basically hosted within a sub-directory of another account). When I install DomainKeys via the cPanel I get no errors. Reasons For Slow Resolving - VPS
I've got a VPS account & when I connect to sites on the VPS, more often than not the browser times out. I click again & the site comes through. I use Firefox & have tried in other browsers with similar results. The VPS has 384mb dedicated RAM, with 512mb burstable - not much I know but... I was wondering about possible reasons - could it be simply not enough RAM, could it be a bottleneck with the hosting company, could it be a problem in the setting up of the nameservers? What would seem more likely? It's a shame as the tech support have been superb but it's too risky to use for reselling.

New Server @ Theplanet - Domains Not Resolving
Since my local ISP hasn't updated yet, I'm still seeing the sites on the old server. I used a proxy (hidemyass.com) which seems to update all the time, and it said that it couldn't connect to the website (I usually use it to test a site's functionality before I can connect to the site) What can I do to test where it's going wrong? The domains have been pointed at ns1.theplanet.com and ns2.theplanet.com already, and theplanet has created those nameserver entries for us already. I just don't want the domains to start resolving, only to find that something is broken....

Server- Domains Not Resolving, Sql Shutting Down
I am having some wacky stuff going on with my server. I run a Godaddy v-ded and according to them, the server is fine. What i'm experiencing is, some of my domains are not resolving, some are. For the ones that are working that run via a database, every few hours, I need to restart mysql(or the server) to get them running again. The Planet Failure
I was hosted with these guys for well over 2 years, and was spending on average more than $2,000.00 a month for servers. I had slowly grown to well over 10 boxes, and was definately on my way. then one day I get a spam complaint that one of my serves was casing complaints. So I checked it out, and asked for the complaints to be relayed so I would have record of it..... nothing.... I responded and even tried to call, but at that point they had sent me a tciket stating. We have recieved well ofer 1000 spam complaints from a server you lease with us, per out TOS we are terminating ALL OF YOUR SERVERS, and you have 15 days to remove the data! WOW... there was no ability to have them terminate that server, they simply said NO your account will be terminated (all of your servers) and you will be banned from The Planet! When I tried to call they said your not allowed to speak with the abuse dept, again I tried contacting my account manager, and he said he checked into it and only saw a few complaints, and didn;t understand why they were doing this... In short I barely got moved over to another provideer before they shut me down completely..... They did however offer one course of action... you could turn your dedicated server clients over to us so they dont have to move! THEY ACTUALLY SAID THIS! I at that point made the move and then they hit my credit card for another month well short of 20 days before a bill would even be due.. I had to file charges at the local courthouse to get this reversed. My advice, if you host at the planet dont send mail. get another server provider for mail, these guys are *&^)(* and they don;t care about shutting you down no matter what you spend with them, on top of that they will try to scarf your clients up if they can, after they leave you high and dry.... Anyone else have issues like this with anyone else. I want to compile a list of providers that do business like this so I can avoid them.

Godaddy = Failure
Probably nothing new. Seriously, they're horrible and everyone here probably knows it. But... I'm ticked, so I'll add something extra to show how genius they are. The problem is I can't seem to reach my website on godaddy. It appears as if the server is down. Both via the browser and ftp it fails. Anyway, I could write a review but no need... I'll let the e-mail I sent them and their responses do the talking. Okay, thanks for the information... I'm still humored that needing my pin is actual security considering it's listed on your website after I login. My password is way better security because it's never visible anywhere... anyway... based on the information you gave me here's what I have found out.. The first instance of me not being able to reach the website was around noon EST yesterday. Earlier that morning I was on the website and had logged in via FTP. After noon the website was no longer reachable. This is a test from one computer. Around 6PM on a different network, the website was reachable from 3 different computers, including the one it wasn't reachable from earlier that day. About 30 minutes later the website became unreachable again. Attempts to reach it from all 3 machines failed. This morning, I considered your response email and assuming the webserver is up like you stated, I decided to try another network. The website was up on that network. However, it is still down on the other two networks. It seems that the website works for a limited time on each network before something happens to keep the network from reaching the webserver. Reboot Failure
so my server dies every day and requires human intervention to fully restart all service to have my site work properly. i suspect sigterm issues as it fails to restart all service as website is still down so i always have to reboot it.
