If you have a dedicated server and you only need management and support team. how much will that cost. some body who can take care of all aspects including security and in time of trouble can answer support tickets.
View 7 RepliesI'm starting a multi-gaming organization and I'm hoping to run 3-4 servers at 1000FPS. The server i purchased is a Core2Quad 2.4, 4GB Ram, 500GB HD, 100MBIT windows 2008
I also purchased a TCAdmin license and have that setup and running. I know about the windows media player trick that makes it run at 500FPS and ive been doing that. Well i would like to get it to 1000FPS but ive been unsuccessful. Ive tried some reading about HPET but i havnt seen where i can change or enable that. what i can do to make them run at 1000FPS.
Dont know if this helps but the servers im hosting are CS 1.6, CSS and TF2.

Issue is i was not aware that softlayer doesnt do "managed" support, would like to know if anyone has a good third party company that works with softlayer.
the tools they have on the portal our great so really would like to find a company thatworks with them. the co that softlayer suggested doesnt do windows support go figure!

Been using the Hivelocity dedicated server for a while now and at first was happy with it’s hosting performance, but after using Hivelocity for about 6 months I’m no longer as impressed unfortunately (especially unimpressed with Hivelocity support).
When the dedicated server worked it was fine, but I was finding it down every so often and there’s no remote reboot with an unmanaged Hivelocity server (at least Server4you had remote reboots with their servers) and their support staff on live chat (who have to order reboots manually!) are far from impressive at supporting their customers at times when they really need support!
I have several sites with Godaddy, but their lack of any real support leaves something to be desired. Does anybody know of a decent provider that has options for database support (mysql) and the like?

I had a problem come up a few days ago where one of my clients got into an argument with the Mavrick Team web hosting and computer services company's owner regarding services. She has reported to me that he went into her email account, and has emailed her clients false information about her services after their heated discussion. She told him that she was going to press charges. He told her that he had harvested all of her clients email addresses and will email them to her competitors if she does not back down. What can she do? I feel awkward as I am in the middle of it now. I was the one who referred her to Mavrick Team (aka as I host them) for web hosting services, and moved her site to their servers. This man has created such a big problem for this women now. Her clients are doubting her services and he is blackmailing her. She does not owe him any monies. She has forwarded two of the emails that her clients forwarded to her, so I know she is not making this thing up. I advised her to move all of her emails to a personal email account, contact all of her clients to let them know that someone has access to their info, and I am helping her move her site. Who can she report them to?

However, I now wish to place my company website on a seperate system running ISP Manager, and in order to connect the servers to my DNS I presume that I would have to use DNS clustering.
Here is my question - how would I create a DNS cluster between cPanel and ISP Manager? Anyone know how?

I have many server with Plesk 12...in this server I have single nameserver...example server number 1 have ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com - server number 2 have ns1.tldnames.com ns2.tldnames.com etc etc...
Now I want manage all server with single nameserver example all server working with ns1.newnameserver.com and ns2.newnameserver.com ....
I have licenses for my server of Plesk no limits...how check if PPA is installed in my server ? Otherwise how to install PPA or other software for DNS Manager?
First of all I checked via command line if any software is not installed properly while plesk installation was done on destination server (windows server 2012 R2). All looks fine, please check attached file pleskinstallation.txt

We are in testing mode of migrating websites hosted with source plesk version 10.4.4 onto destination server plesk server 12.0.18 having (windows server 2012 R2).
What we did, we restored the backup of Source plesk version 10.4.4 (windows server 2008) to Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 built.
Now the problem is that backup which we restored on Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 was of 68 GB and now when we setup the backup on Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 and when backup completes successfully it show us wrong backup size up to 16 GB.
We have requested several times to plesk support has to check the entire new plesk version in terms of all feature (like taking backup, restoring, plesk installation etc) while releasing new version, If they have noticed bug than plesk support should not release new version or micro update until they are sure.
I would request them again to check backup size bug along with other bugs.

I have setup Slave DNS using plesk 12. But it is not creating the zone in slave server. I could see log in /var/log/messages of slave server. But DNS zone is not creating. I have followed the KB "[URL] ...." for setup.

I am using a shopping cart using php and mysql which was setup long back on my account with Reliablesite.net. Now, it is suddenly down mentioning database not found. I have submitted a ticket 9 hours back but not heard anything. The support as always is non-existent and is only available from 9-5 mon-fri. I am very much frustrated as there is no other means of contacting them. No phone number and no one is there to attend the tickets. Can someone help me how to contact them as I cannot afford to keep website down till they open their offices tomorrow morning.

Things have become a little hectic.
I decided to go for a budget dedicated server because the shared hosting I was using was grinding to a halt several times a week.
I haven't used a dedicated server before, and wasn't 100% sure what I needed, so after lot's of going round in circles, I found the 123-reg £49.99 server and unlimited bandwidth, so I ordered it....and waited, and waited. Not so much as an order confirmation, or reply to my emails asking what was going on. Not a great start, so I cancelled the order.
OK, I have a budget of around £60 a month.
I need the server to be able to do mod_rewrites.
Unlimited, or a generous amount of bandwidth per month is important.
Good service if it all goes wrong is essential.
Preferably UK based, but will consider other countries if contacting them isn't a problem.
I need some kind of control panel as well.
i will be running a Vbulletin + VBSEO (hence the mod_rewrites) installation and a joomnla installation with lots of large images if that makes any difference.
