Localdomains File Deleting Domain -->
Jun 14, 2007
I have a client that routes their mail through a spam service and then back to my server. in order for this to work, their domain needs to be listed in both the /etc/localdomains file and the /etc/remotedomains file
it seems now since the last WHM/Cpanel upgrade that every morning i have to go in and manually re-add their domain into the localdomains file in order for their email to work
is there someway i can make it so it doesn't get removed?

Does anyone know how to fix this? Some Plesk users may have experienced this and I'm hoping could shed some light.

We needed to delete a domain which has been terminated by a customer. This customer has about 40 domains linked to them.
When we deleted the domain, it deleted the entire customer!
I'm trying to find the support option on your site but I can't find it, there's just no support option for Plesk anymore.

I discovered this forum googling and i think is a very good community, so i registered and well... as any noob, started to ask questions U.U im new in this stuff of web hosting... though i know some things... i dont have experience, its my first job in a small web hosting company, and we have a strange problem, we loss entries on /etc/localdomains when we migrate domains from one server to another and nobody knows why... we can fix it trough deleting the dns entry and creating it again on the target server. I know its kinda messy (for me at least) i hope u can give me at least an insight of where the problem might be.
We do the migration trough the migration tool of WHM
Here is some data about the target migration server, if u need something else... please tell me.
CENTOS Enterprise 5 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0
uname -r
2.6.18-8.el5
vmstat 5 5 ......

I have about 200 accounts an a RHEL 5.x cPanel server, the problem is that one of the resellers and all his accounts from time to time are dissapearing from /etc/localdomains, and that obviously is causing him email problems, and we had to add the domains again to the list so the mail can work again.
this is happening almost every 20-30 days.

I've looked through my exim logs a number of times and I see emails being sent out with "from:" fields with email addresses of other domains. Usually they are spam related and fraudulent.
How can exim be setup to only send out emails that have localdomains in their from fields?
E.g. if I have account bob.com on my server then the owner of bob.com can only send out emails "xxxx@bob.com" no matter what else he tries to do that's all exim will send out.
How can you get exim to do this? I have been using filtering to block commonly spammed domains like aol.com hotmail.com etc - any emails sent out with these in their from fields are filtered and blocked - but rather building up a larger and larger filter of commonly abused domains - why not just block everything except domains on your server.

When I specify log rotation settings for domain xyz.com in Plesk panel I expect them to be saved in /etc/logrotate.d/xyz.com file, at least this is the expected behaviour according to Plesk12 Admin Guide: [URL] ....
Apparently, it doesn't happen and I don't have xyz.com file in /etc/logrotate.d/
Log rotation doesn't seem to work either, at least it doesn't work for error.log
I read somewhere that log rotation feature has to be specially enabled in Plesk but I couldn't find specifics anywhere.

I recently needed to make some changes to the domain.conf file at the following path: /etc/nginx/plesk.conf.d/vhosts. When I try to edit the file it just has 3 lines at the top warning me that the changes made here would not persist, while other domain confs have full configs inside.
I am positive that the domain in question is set to use nginx, double checked this, so what gives? Why is the file blank?

After we update to plesk 12. We are not able to access file manager inside plesk.
Its giving this error : check attachment,
Also when we tries to delete a domain we can't its giving this error message : Failed to parse response. Reason: Failed to read data from stream Process output:
It seems some permission issue. I already executed plesk configutor and permission fix tool but the issue remains.

For a particular domain I've got it set to:
Log rotation condition: By size (1024 KB)
Maximum number of log files: 5
Compress log files: Yes
...however the access_log.processed is at 20.4MB. Is this correct? I would have thought it could only get to 5MB in total?
How do I restrict the size of access_log.processed?

if you go to www.home.ecarindo.com, you can see that it displays the text file, the Default.aspx, the ACTUAL text file,
I've added the line DirectoryIndex Default.aspx to the .htcaccess in my home directory in cPanel, btw.
Update: nevermind, my idiotic team member registered a Linux plan instead of a Windows plan, sorry for the disturbance.

There is a mailbox which is slightly over 250mB
The problem is that mail is usually downloaded without having the copy on the server deleted.
What is the easiest way of deleting all mail older than 14days?
(using cpanel, if it helps)

I have terminated several reseller accounts and their respective clients in WHM-root recently (needs must) however the reduction in diskspace usage was not comparative to the amount of space deleted.
Is there a way to find out what is using up the space, is there a way to check it? I used the du -sh command on /home/* however the total of all the accounts listed does not come near to the amount of diskspace used on the status2k script page?

I have two quick questions.
Question 1
I had a script create a backup of every file on my site using the following format "filename.php.bac". I want to delete these files now and I tired to use "rm *.bac" but that only deleted the files in the current directory. How can I delete ALL those files in EVERY directory and sub-directory starting at the public_html directory?
Question 2
How can I escape semi-colon's (;) in a perl script? I'm trying to run a search+replace script to update some Analytics code and I have a ton of files to update but for some reason if there is a semi-colon in the find varable, it assumes that it has reached the end of the contents in that variable.
Here is the code. Take a look at the $find variable and you will see extra semi-colon's. How do I tell the script to not treat those semi-colons as the end of the variable? .........
