Forwarding Email Account Dropping Emails Without Bouncing Them
I own my domain [url] and have a reseller plan on a shared host [url]I have the DNS on godaddy pointed to the nameservers of reyox and on the Cpanel of my domain at reyox I have a forwarding account [url]set to forward to my gmail account.
To the best of my knowledge this has worked flawlessly for years but recently I have been starting to not receive emails from people. I found out when I wasn't getting replies I had been expecting and when I inquired or called the people instead they told me that hey replied... it's been happening over and over again lately.
When I asked my host last week they replied: "We did clear up some mail issues last night, some issues with the queue processing."
However after that it kept happening and now I am at a loss.
I don't know what's wrong nor how to troubleshoot it... It happened with people that are on all sorts of domains (gmail, aol, personal domains etc) and it happens sporadically...
It's really frustrating because I don't know what else I am not getting considering that every other day I find out about an expected email I didn't get.
The werid thing is that none of the senders whose emails got lost reported that they received a bounce issue...
how I can address this in terms of troubleshooting it and finding a solution?
Is there some sort of email monitoring services like there are site uptime monitoring services?

Emails Seem To Be Bouncing Back
The issue is that a lot of my emails seem to be bouncing back at the moment with the subject 'Subject: Warning: could not send message for past 1 day' Could anyone explain why this might be the case? I've had a look online and the only thing I can think it might be is that my email address has been gray listed. To solve this it was recommended to use a SPF Record. I did not really want to start messing around with my DNS before I could get some confirmation that this is the case. Though if there is another explaination please can you let m know. The emails that I have sent have all had pdf's attached to them.

Email Account Receiveing But Not Sending Emails
I have a problem with email accounts for a user which recieve email messages all wright but he can't send any email. All emails he send (even for himself) arn't delievered. He doesn't recieve any error messeges in return. I thought to check exim_mainlog and exim_rejectlog but I don't know what exaxtly should I look for. and what needed to be reconfigured. Server Bouncing Emails To Hotmail, MSN And Others
I have one of our servers that is bouncing all sent emails to hotmail, MSN and some others. The emails often come back saying they are bounced as SPAM. There were SPAM issues on this particular server at one point, but have since been corrected one we tightened it up. Now, how can I fix this? Can I change the servers hostname? Are they rejecting by hostname, or by IP? And do I need to just contact each provider and try to get off their blacklist?

Forwarding Existing Emails
I have this strange issue, There are few domains with few email accounts with some existing emails, like user@domain1.com having 60 mails in inbox user2@domain1.com having 125 mails in inbox user@domain2.com having 80 mails in inbox user2@domain2.com having 380 mails in inbox And many more. Now these existing emails are to be forwarded to onespecificmailid@some-remote-domain.com How to automate this? There are hundreds of other mail accounts too which should not get disturbed/touched. Each existing mail should be forwarded as normally incoming mails are forwarded. We have root access and server specs are: WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.4-R26138 CENTOS Enterprise 5.2 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0 Any idea how to do that?

Forwarding Mail In CPanel And Not Keeping It At The Original Account
I'd like to create a forwarding address, and not have the original account keep the mail - but without having to delete the original account, since I'd like to keep my existing emails. For instance if the old account is apples@domain.com, I'd like to forward new emails to oranges@new.com, where apples doesn't keep the new emails. Currently in cPanel when I create a forwarder apples@domain.com=>oranges@new.com, new emails are sent to both accounts.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, If I've selected the wrong forum, admins please move. I'm looking to set up a server side "mailing list", with a few specifics. The idea is that someone could send a mail message to production@domain.com and it would then forward that message to all members included in that department (no more than 12 each). The old administrator here had us hosted on 1and1, who allowed 3 forwarders per email address, and he had managed to rig a system out of that, but I've just moved to Downtownhost (yay!) and they appear to only allow 1 forwarder. Is there a simple way to do this without having to make all users maintain their own mail distribution lists?

im trying to use my cpanel to set up an email forward and i just cant seem to get it to work. Im forwarding from info@kiesuwkorting.nl to myemail@gmail.com however when trying to email to info@kiesuwkorting.nl with that same email adress i don't get my send mail in my inbox. I have a contact form using .php to forward the contents of the form to my email-ad, but turns out, that something i cant do with my free hosting plan. i was wondering if anyone knew any services (free) that allow mail forwarding where i can host my .php script together with all associated files and simply link to them from my site? that would be great! thanks! Qmail - Check Which Account Sends Emails
I have loads of spam messages being sent from my VPS and I think one (or more) of the legit email accounts are used to send spam (either someone worked out the passwords or users of those accounts have malicious software installed on their machines. How can I check which email accounts send which emails? Currently nothing is being logged by qmail (/var/log/mail* are empty).

Emails Are Not Delivering To Some Email Addresses
Sometime before users of my site were receiving mails properly but now they are complaining they are not receiving it. They have their own domains email addresses. I confirmed with my personal Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail addresses but I am receiving it well. How can I confirm that the problem is with their mail servers not with mine? Emails In Response To Autoresponders Going To Two Email Address's
Anyone here got any experience with autoresponders? An autoresponder is setup, so that anyone emailing to admin@example.com, gets an autoresponder from enquiries@example.com asking for a couple of details, the person then replies to the autoresponder with the details, they then receive another autoresponder from enquiries@example.com confirming receipt of their last email. That's what should happen, but instead, the person keeps getting an autoresponder from enquiries@example.com asking for more details, even after they've already emailed the details? If it's any help, when I've been testing this, when replying to the first autoresponder, I notice in the 'to' line it mentions both email address's, in the following format: Enquiries@example.com <admin@example.com>

Sending Emails From VPS To Hotmail And Gmail Email Accounts
I have problems sending emails from my VPS to Hotmail and Gmail email accounts. This is a new VPS with some new websites so they are not blacklisted for spam or anything like that. After users register at my website they receive a welcome email, but with Hotmail/Gmail accounts they end up by default in the spam/junkfolder. I also have a refer-a-friend and a forgot password form -> with gmail users they both end up in the spamfolder, with hotmail users they both do not show up at all! I read somewhere that editing the DNS zone could solve this problem with adding a SPF record (see also [url]). I have added the most common SPF record "v=spf1 a ~all" as TXT record type but after a few days nothing has changed. so all email send from the VPS to Hotmail/Gmail email accounts will directly be send into the inbox.

Hosting Company For Email Marketers (bulk Single Opt-in Emails)
I'm having some trouble finding a hosting company that will let me send out bulk mail to my single opt-in (and CAN-SPAM compliant) list of 500,000+ subscribers. Could anyone here recommend a hosting company that would be able to handle that? I put in a request through WHT's quote request form, but haven't gotten any replies to my query. I know that there must be a host out there who is willing to let me do it, I just need to find it... BTW, the list is scrubbed, and I will make every attempt to keep the IP's 100% clean, as I have a vested interest in making sure that my deliverability is high, so it's not like I'm going to "spam and run"...

Can Virtual Account Have Email
I have many sites that use a custom vhosts.conf file to set alternate DocumentRoot to a directory. The Directory holds a script that reads the server_host variable and serves content from a common database but tailored to the referring "site". These phantom sites have only dns zone - set up though WHM, a custom VirtualHost entry for port 80 (web) and a custom VirtualHost entry for port 443 (SSL) (placed in a custom conf file). They are not actual accounts in the sense that they are not set up as new accounts in WHM. Im wondering if there is a way to set up email accounts for these phantom accounts? I'm using GoDaddy's "Total DNS Control", but I'm confused on how to set up my MX settings at Godaddy. For example, if my site is mydomain.com what do I enter for the MX settings at Godaddy for the: Priority? Hostname? and "Enter goes to address"? Setup Email Account - Does Not Work
I have a VPS server now with 1and1.com (no wait times with tech support, and very friendly and helpful), only problem is... they haven't been able to help me resolve one of my problems. My client has their domain registered with Network Solutions. I've already changed the DNS settings to point to my VPS where I've created the domain within Plesk. I can log into my FTP, change the site, yadda yadda yadda just like any other site. So everything works there! Now, when I create an email account in Plesk I put in my user/pass etc... and create an email account... Great, awesome. I go into Outlook and put in the email information, incoming/outgoing mail settings, user/pass, etc... and nothing works... It pops up and pretty much nothing happens. What am I doing wrong for this to not work? Do I have to create a sub domain within Plesk for my domain? If so, I've already done that. Must I change something over at Network Solutions to reflect the mail server? If so, I've added the MX records of mail.mydomain.com with prio of 10. What is up? What am I doing wrong? :-( Client is getting frustrated and I'm lost! I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome :-)

How To Prevent Email To Root Account
I'm running a webosting server under linux with sendmail as mailserver. The problem is that many spammers send mails directly to the root account by using one of the existing pseudo accounts like "apache, uucp, root, ...". In a default sendmail installation, apache, uucp, root are defined as alias and point to root. I do virtualhosting so I accept mail for several domains. If a spammer send mail to root@anotherdomain.com, the spam will also arrive in the root account. If I define a bounce all for my main domain, I have problems because root@mymaindomain.com and apache@mymaindomain.com do not exist anymore. This results in user unkown when apache or root try to send a mail out. So, how do I prevent spammers from sending mail directly to the root account? Is it possible to accept only local mail to the root account?

I'm on CentOS 4.4, webmin, LAMP, OpenSSH and ProFTPD server. But what I'm wondering is how to look at my off network backup space. I can only access my backup space through the DC network/my own server. So I need some kind of way to bounce a GUI ftp connection off the server - which would allow me to look at the files... Create Email Account Across Multiple Accounts
I've just put all my own domains on their own server, away from my clients' domains. I don't really want to go through 60 Cpanel accounts creating an email address for myself in each. Is there a way to create a single pop account in each account? I seem to recall there's a way to change the default email address to fail: or blackhole: server-wide so I guess there'll be a way to create a mail account.

Is it normal for a ton of packets to be dropped? Clear A Specific Email Account In Cpanel Or A Command Line Way
I just recently logged into my user email account "the one which was created by the name of the user of the account" and found it had 8000 emails but none are showing up in either horde or squirrelmail. How can i delete all these emails without deleting the other bla@domain.com emails? Is there a way just to clear a specific email account in cpanel or a command line way. I think if i just delete the mail folder it would kill all the emails of that account and I just want to 'reset' that one.

Ddos Attack Still Dropping My Server
I have been getting ddossed for the last month, my host has tried many things on my server that are commonly suggested around here, however we have over 40 000 connections hitting the server from this attack and it keeps rising. I am on LiteSpeed. I also have NetScreen 50 firewall which helped for a little while, however the server still keeps going down. I am spending $420 a month on my hosting for my dedicated server Now it is costing me an extra $400 a month to have Netscreen firewall running which is a waste of money as it can not effectively keep the server running and i'm not sure if I can even effectively afford that much money a month, however I might need to spend a little more if need to just get the server running finally. basically I need some options as to what I can do. I would like to stay with my host, they have been good to me, however if my options are better suited to changing then let me know. I just really need to get my server running great asap and to keep it running great when i'm away from the internet.

I have 2 identical boxes with FC6 and the same settings and almost the same amount of traffic. Kernel is 2.6.20-1.2925.fc6 SMP One is running without problem. The other become slow after few days and from errors I get this message: nf_conntrack: table full, dropping packet The table do not clean up automatically as reboot solve the problem. How to flush nt_conntrack table without reboot? The limit is 65536, setting it double seems to solve the problem but I'm not sure it is the way to go.

Are there any email hosts, meaning, a service I can sign up with that will allow me to send these emails? I don't want anything complex like aweber and constant contact. I just want the articles on my site's news section to become the actual announcement/newsletter. I thought about Feedburner, but they don't let you import your subscribers.. I wouldn't be sending announcements every day, but perhaps a couple of times per month..

Bought Private Domain Name Server (DNS) To Prevent Hotmail Bouncing...am I Wrong?
While I am used to reselling and domain registration stuff, I am totally new to DNS stuff..I tried many searches and readings without hope. that's why I need your help. We have a problem that makes both incoming and outgoing emails from our website's email server not going or received, without any failure message or error message on both sides: the sender and receiver. We talked to our webhosting company- they do not own, but host on a dedicated provided by Iweb in Canada - and they told us a quick solution for this: To buy a private IP address, therefore our websites with them will not get blocked as spammy IP, setting us away from the dozens of sites they have on the same server IP (as domaintools reverse IP reported: xx other sites hosted on this server). The company I work for agreed on this solution immediately as we are loosing customers for this problem. They charged us 8$ a month for this "private ip". We had the same problem for another day after their solution, when I checked domaintools, I found our websites are still on the same IP of the company. I called them, and the Admin there told me: it's a hidden CNAME setting that is not shown to public because it's "private" and the delay happenned because we had to contact Hotmail staff and wait for their reply to include it in their safe list, but others as Gmail and Yahoo do not require contacting them and will go through automatically." My question is: - What is Private IP/ Private DNS? - Why and how it is used to prevent false blocking/bouncing? - Does that mean they had to sell it to every domain, while their IP is not on blacklists (I checked it). - Is Private IP just an internal setting or it has to be bought from a large ISP like regular/public IPs? and if just some settings, is this price fair? we pay 120$ annually for hosting one site with them. - They told us they put our other two sites on theis same new private IP. How can this be possible? - I cannot understand: Hotmail can prevent our emails from reaching inboxes, but can it also prevent its users emails from reaching us?? Is this issue a Private-IP related?? - What do you think the real problem is, and what advice(s) should I follow to have our emails going and coming smoothly in the future? Note: We don't send unsolicited emails ever. We only have a 1500-member mailinglist that we send a newsletter to, once every few months. Our daily email traffic is about 10 to 20 messages in and out.
