I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, If I've selected the wrong forum, admins please move.
I'm looking to set up a server side "mailing list", with a few specifics. The idea is that someone could send a mail message to production@domain.com and it would then forward that message to all members included in that department (no more than 12 each). The old administrator here had us hosted on 1and1, who allowed 3 forwarders per email address, and he had managed to rig a system out of that, but I've just moved to Downtownhost (yay!) and they appear to only allow 1 forwarder. Is there a simple way to do this without having to make all users maintain their own mail distribution lists?

im trying to use my cpanel to set up an email forward and i just cant seem to get it to work. Im forwarding from info@kiesuwkorting.nl to myemail@gmail.com however when trying to email to info@kiesuwkorting.nl with that same email adress i don't get my send mail in my inbox. Could it have anything to do with. - some spam filter (not in my spam box though) - my domain kiesuwkorting.nl being an addon domain to another account of mine.

Free SMTP Access For Email Forwarding?
I have a contact form using .php to forward the contents of the form to my email-ad, but turns out, that something i cant do with my free hosting plan. i was wondering if anyone knew any services (free) that allow mail forwarding where i can host my .php script together with all associated files and simply link to them from my site? that would be great! thanks! Forwarding Email Account Dropping Emails Without Bouncing Them
I own my domain [url] and have a reseller plan on a shared host [url]I have the DNS on godaddy pointed to the nameservers of reyox and on the Cpanel of my domain at reyox I have a forwarding account [url]set to forward to my gmail account. To the best of my knowledge this has worked flawlessly for years but recently I have been starting to not receive emails from people. I found out when I wasn't getting replies I had been expecting and when I inquired or called the people instead they told me that hey replied... it's been happening over and over again lately. When I asked my host last week they replied: "We did clear up some mail issues last night, some issues with the queue processing." However after that it kept happening and now I am at a loss. I don't know what's wrong nor how to troubleshoot it... It happened with people that are on all sorts of domains (gmail, aol, personal domains etc) and it happens sporadically... It's really frustrating because I don't know what else I am not getting considering that every other day I find out about an expected email I didn't get. The werid thing is that none of the senders whose emails got lost reported that they received a bounce issue... how I can address this in terms of troubleshooting it and finding a solution? Is there some sort of email monitoring services like there are site uptime monitoring services?

I have two dedicated servers.One of them is in Germany and the other one is in Turkey.I want to set up a cluster system between them.I will use the server in Germany as a gameserver.But when someone pings the server in Germany the packages will be forwarded to the server in Turkey.So he will see the Turkish server's ping results.How can i do this?

Forwarding To IP Rather Than Nameservers?

Port Forwarding
I am starting my own web hosting service out of my house. I have been doing some minor web hosting for about a year. I am using some old Dell Dimension 8300's and manage about 200 websites. I am running of 3 servers. (I use 1and1 for my domains) When someone types in my company website, 1and1's name servers points it to my website. Thats perfect. Here is the problem. When a customer goes to there website it forwards to mck-communications.com:[port]/clients/there co name/ How can I make it say there domain and yet still show the file or folder they are on ex: index.html, products.html, /solutions/ ect.... I own all the domains I use.

I have my home server Problem is that my isp started blocking port 25. I Found that many dynamicdns provider have a way to redirect port 25 mail to other ports I have dns server working Fine. but i m unable to find where to put that redirect port 25 to other posrt. During the day I am behind a network connection that is firewalled blocking ports such as SSH. Is there anyway I can set up some sort of a port forwarder(or whatever you call it) so I could still access the ports I need even though the network blocks it?

FTP Forwarding/proxying
I have two servers. server A and server B, server A is fast to my my clients, but server B is slow. Server A and B are not in the same network. Clients need to download/upload files to server B with FTP. How can I do something like this: Clients use FTP client connect to server A, server A acts as a proxy server connect to server B, the files uploaded/downloaded to server B are all proxy by server A. Client will not need to do anything except use server A's IP for FTP. I have looked into SSH FTP forwarding, but it's not the same thing. Servers are Linux CentOS. Can anyone give me advise what software/program I should use to achieve this?

Web Forwarding Issues!
I've set up a couple of domain names for a client - www.helpinghandsuk.co.uk and helpinghandsuk.net with hosting running from the .net address. This was all bought through 123-reg. Ive tried to set up the web forwarding from the .co.uk to point to the .net address using all of the different options (framed/non-framed etc) but to no avail, it still points t the old hosting!! Ive checked who it is registered to and it is registered to 123-reg. What would be the next step as they dont seem to have any support?

Telivo, Web Forwarding. - How?
Hi, we have a .com domain and starter hosting from Telivo. Telivo mention web-forwarding in their documentation but I can't seem to see where to access it to configure it, either on the Telivo's control panel on their site or within the actual SiteAdmin control panel for the domain itself. Telivo's documentation simply says "Click on the 'Web Forwarding' link" (I assume within the SiteAdmin on your domain), but I can't see one! I've looked in the DNS management menus as well (on Telivo's site control panel) but the web-forwarding option still eludes me. (Email forwarding is there, though, but not web-forwarding).

Forwarding Existing Emails
I have this strange issue, There are few domains with few email accounts with some existing emails, like user@domain1.com having 60 mails in inbox user2@domain1.com having 125 mails in inbox user@domain2.com having 80 mails in inbox user2@domain2.com having 380 mails in inbox And many more. Now these existing emails are to be forwarded to onespecificmailid@some-remote-domain.com How to automate this? There are hundreds of other mail accounts too which should not get disturbed/touched. Each existing mail should be forwarded as normally incoming mails are forwarded. We have root access and server specs are: WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.4-R26138 CENTOS Enterprise 5.2 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0 Any idea how to do that?

Setting Up Domain Forwarding?
I've taken a reseller account from ResellerZOOM which came with WHM/cPanel. I've my own private nameservers(meaning I got my own IP). I've a domain that I want to be forwarded to my wordpress.com blog, just like domain registrars offer domain forwarding but the registrar I registered my domain with doesn't give domain forwarding. so I was thinking that maybe I can point the domain to my nameservers & then have it forwarded to my wordpress.com blog. The thing is that I haven't used WHM before & I don't know how to do it, create some DNS zone maybe!! The only way I know is to create an account for that domain, allot it some diskspace & then redirect via .htaccess file, which would be overkill IMHO. I know it can be done without creating an account, some other way.

We have customer who has account on our *nix box server and who wanna move to our h-sphere reseller platform because now he want to use asp and mssql. If it`s .com domain, for example, I would be able to easy change NS1 and NS2, but since this is ccTLD (and we will wait 10-15 days) I need quick solution for DNS forwarding. ns1.oldnameserver -> ns1.newnamerserver ns2.oldnamesrever -> ns2.newnamerserver se when I run ping for example, I have to have reply from new server. Forwarding Mail Server
The situation is like this, Currently i have a domain which is hosted at xyzhost.com, in my domain registrar' the name servers are pointing to this hosts addresses, Now what i need to do is, due to client's requirements, i need this domain to be hosted to their own server which has static ip's as well, but initially i need that just mail(exchange server being deployed) should be forwarded or configured in such a way that the domain is hosted at xyzhost.com, but mail is handled by a different server located elsewhere.And eventually both web server and mail server are our own. now what i dont know is what should i modify at the domain registrar(i use domainsite) so that the web site still works fine(coz the site shouldnt be down) and the mail should work on the exchange server that the client has in the office. would appreciate any help anyone can offer on this issue, i think its MX records to be modified but not sure and want to get you guys advice and suggestions as well.

Going From URL Forwarding To Hosting?
i currently have a domain registered with namecheap that is NOT being hosted. i'm using a URL Forwarding using a URL Frame redirect to point it to some website. i now want to have this domain hosted (maybe at hostgator). Question: once i copy all my files to the hosting site and get the nameserver info - once i enter the nameserver info in my namecheap control panel for the domain name, i assume namecheap will cancel the redirect immediately. will there be ANY time when visitors to my domain will get an error code? what will visitors see in the time between the cancellation of the redirect and the full propagation (that may take 1-3 days i understand)?

As the title states I'm wanting to forward many subdomains on a site I recently acquired. The still has a lot of traffic to subdomains that no longer exist and I want to somehow redirect all of them to my main domain index page. Using A VPS For Port Forwarding
I want to use a a VPS server to which I have SSH access to do port forwarding, I know SSH default port is usually on 22, first thing I would like to do is to change this to port 443. Second thing I need to do is to tell the server to allow me to do port forwarding. E-mail Outsourcing / Forwarding
I recently moved our e-mail from our dedicated server to now being handled through Google Apps premier. I changed the MX records with our DNS provider, and have them now pointing at the Google mail servers. Thus, any mail sent to our e-mail addresses are now properly routed to the Google servers. HOWEVER, if people use the 'contact us' form on our website, those e-mails still get routed to the old e-mails system, hosted on the machine itself. Is there a DNS cache on this machine, telling it to send the e-mails to itself? Or, is this just something we can't fix, since the machine doesn't look to outside DNS, since it's trying to send mail to the domain it hosts? I forgot to mention this is on CentOS 4.4, running WHM as well,

just a quick question, i have two domains www.abc.com and www.abc.co.uk. With web forwarding typinng www.abc.co.uk will get me to www.abc.com and from there i have browse the www.abc.com site. However I want www.abc.co.uk to be the duplicate of www.abc.com. So i can browse a www.abc.co.uk. Is it possible to create an email forwarder that will forward to a specific folder? For instance, an email to "anemail@domain.com" will forward to a folder 'fold1' of "realemail@domain.com". Port Forwarding To Servers On The Same VLAN
I have two servers setup on a private VLAN with two virtual IP's. One server has 10.250.0.1, the other 10.250.0.2. I can forward the ports fine when they are on the same server but when I try to forward a port on the first server to the virtual IP on the second server it does not work. I can ping the virtual IP's fine from both servers and am able to connect to them through SSH. General Question About Framed Forwarding And Hosting
Quite a general question here I have a website www.littlemissthrifty.com - the domain name is registered with weycrest but it is hosted with bravenet pro, when i go into the control panel at Weycrest it says Domain has frame forwarding to the URL www.dis-counts.co.uk I dont want it to be forwarded anywhere, does this matter as it is already hosted somewhere else? or could it cause problems for search engines crawling if the domain name points somewhere else?

SpamAssassin Forwarding Mail To The Wrong Place
Whenever an incoming mail is tagged as [SPAM] by SpamAssassin in my mail queue I see it is being redirected from spamassassin@mydomain-site.com to spam@mydomain-site.org Sence mydomain-site.org is no longer active the [SPAM] mail just sits there in the queue and does not get delivered anywhere.. I am new to this stuff so I have no idea where I should look to change the option. I am not even sure if it is suppose to this, I just want all SPAM to go to spamassassin@mydomain-site.com I don't have cpanel or any real server management, so i am not sure where to look and what to edit so the mail stops going to the .org domain.

50+ Domains, What Is The Best Option? Seo, Mirroring, Forwarding, Etc?
I have a client that has one main ecommerce site and search engine ranking is very important. They also have about 60 other domain names that are relevant to their main domain. example: pizzapie.com & cheesepizza.com. The question I have is what would be the best way to utilize these domains without getting search engines mad (lose rank). Mirror? Forward? Or should I populate them with the same files? Or same files but change the text around as much as possible? The last question is basically the same but they also have international domains with the same situation; pizzapie.jp, pizzapie.nz, etc. Would this be any different or does anyone have suggestions how to treat international domain names for ranking in US & the corresponding country?

Is Pageant (Agent Forwarding) For Putty Supported On Linux?
I've setup my ssh to login with keys and passphrase. I would like to do away with passphrases by using agent forwarding. Putty uses Pageant to store private keys, bu from all the tutorials I can find, it's a windows based feature (to add private keys). I've also tried to use ssh-add (a different agent), but it has trouble recognizing my private key passphrase (made with putty). I know the private key is working because I'm able to use use ssh without a password, just the phrase. What's the best way to do this? Is there a putty pageant command line that I don't know about?

Forwarding Mail In CPanel And Not Keeping It At The Original Account
I'd like to create a forwarding address, and not have the original account keep the mail - but without having to delete the original account, since I'd like to keep my existing emails. For instance if the old account is apples@domain.com, I'd like to forward new emails to oranges@new.com, where apples doesn't keep the new emails. Currently in cPanel when I create a forwarder apples@domain.com=>oranges@new.com, new emails are sent to both accounts.

Search Engines Continue To Pickup Domain Used For Forwarding
We have a bunch of domains we use to forward into various locations on our site, so for instance: [url] would forward to [url]. I am currently running a Windows 2k3 Server with IIS6. The way I achieve these forwards is to set up another site, put the forwarding domain in the host header, then have it forward out to my desired directory. However, now Google has been picking up my forwarding domains with their robots, and getting addresses like [url], which does not exist, just [url]does, so people are getting returned a lot of 404 errors. How can I stop this? Am I setting up the domain forwarding wrong?

I am trying to find an application that can listen on a given UDP port, say "6271" and forward all traffic (UDP) sent to that port to another IP (not on the same subnet). I should not call this forwarding, but instead, cloning (because forwarding usually is only on the same subnet or vlan). The packets should not be modified, (thus IP information in packet ect.) Forwarding/Default+POP3 Addy Doesnt Work - Piping/Webmail Works
My server which runs cPanel (license issued touchsupport) is having problems with handling emails. I use an external DNS provider (editdns.net) only for this 1 particular domain for handling many Records and such. Through their panel, I have added my mail server's record, i.e. "mailserver.tld". Now there is a problem with one part of the email issue. I have email piping setup and 1 webmail account setup too. These two work flawlessly. No issues with them. But email forwarding and default address doesn't work. I am confident that the email settings are working right because, when my clients send an email, piping works and my support system creates a new ticket. But the email forwarding/Default EMail doesn't. Not just that, I cannot even connect to the webmail account I created via POP3. I 100% sure that I used the correct login credentials and also tried the "+" and ":" for the username part. Just doesn't work. But I can access and read my emails via the Webmail (squirrelmail). Please help me out with this as soon as possible.

Free Email - Lot Of Space And Email Boxes Involved
One of my customers asked me if is possible technically to offer free email services. Since he's going to launch a big portal he want to offer such things later, for all users. Now, there are problems as: a) if there is any possibility to compress emails similar with GMAIL or YahooMail or so, because i can't imagine the email is uncompressed b) how can be handled email boxes over multiple (mail ?) servers if the HDD space needed would be larger than for one server HDD ?

Postfix Recieving Email For Deleted Email Address
I had a email address I deleted on my server (postfix on Debian 4), but to my surprise the server still recieves email for the address! (I have manually tried sending a email to the address and it comes througt). I have deleted the address from the /etc/postfix/virtual file and restarted postfix. What could I have forgotten?

Email Issue: Local Users Can Not Email Each Other
I am having an email issue and I can not resolve. I am hoping for some assisstance here. One of my local clients are not able to email each other in their office. (About 10 employess I believe) They are using Outlook mail client, and using ISP's SMTP server. They are able to send/recieve email to other users externally, but not intenally. Using webmail works perfectly fine. I spoke with my host and the said everything is working fine. I checked with the ISP to see if they are blocking the IP address on the SMTP server. They said they were not. I have a personal account on the same server and tried to send email to another local email account, and it did not work either. Tried to send email to my clients email and they did not recieve anything. I am on the same ISP as my client, so Im still not sure if its the ISP or not.

On one my servers, I'm receiving hundreds of spam emails that are clogging up the email queue to email addresses that do not exist. For instance domain.com, I would get bob@domain.com liz@domain.com 325235@domain.com You get the picture. How do I setup my server so that if there isn't an email address setup the email automatically gets deleted instead of trying to attempt to deliver it?

Email Issues When Email Is On Another Server
I have a client who has his own hosting account, and wants to leave his e-mail on his own hosting account, but his website on my hosting account. On his own hosting he has created a sub domain called shop, and pointed its A record to the IP address of my server. On my server I've setup his domain name, and created the sub domain shop. That all works fine. The problem I have is that the site under the shop domain needs to send an e-mail to sales@hisdomain.com. Now my server thinks the main domain is setup on my server, so it sends the e-mail to itself. I'm justing wondering how I can get the server to point the mails back to his hosting? A previous host I've used said they had to add the domain as a remote domain on the server, then they had to make some changes to /etc/localdomains because I was getting errors trying to send mails to the address.
