Deploying Red5 War On A Tomcat 5.5 System With The Admin Panel Working
Apr 27, 2009
Could anyone post the exact steps to install Red5 war on tomcat 5.5 with admin panel working and displaying? I have installed it with the demos working but there is no admin panel access
I want to buy a VPS for my java sites. I know most of VPS support PHP, but few support tomcat. So if i want to install tomcat, which control panel I should use.
I've currently got a couple VPS's running a handful of really small sites (most are just a few things for friends, my own site, and a few non-profit sites).
I want to consolidate them in to one VPS, and I don't know who I should go with, I'm looking for some opinions.
Needs:
- I'd like all the security features of the OS to be handled for me. If this is done through some type of control panel, that would be okay - or if it's done by the company, that would be fine as well.
- I'd like to be able to host Django sites (this is a python framework). I'd prefer if it had some scripts setup to make setting up Django sites fairly simple (Media Temple does this fairly well, it's basically a "one click" and you're good to go system).
- I'd like some form of admin panel. It doesn't need to be as fancy as cPanel, but I'd like something for my emails, domains, DNS, and that type of thing.
- I'd like it to be located in North America.
Budget:
I would like to spend less than ~100/month on this. Obviously the lower the better, but I don't want something so cheap that my server is being oversold.
Server Requirements:
As I said, I use very little resources and bandwidth. I just need something that is reliable, and isn't going to be overloaded or go up/go down all the time.
I am using CentOS 6.4... I cannot login to the admin page. Showing this message:
Error: Unable to log you on. An internal error occurred in the Single Sign-on authorization engine. Please try to log in later, and contact your hosting service provider if the problem persists.

After running this two lines, when i login to admin panel, it shows: Can not extract SAML message.
I've encountered a curious problem. Fresh install of Plesk 11 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server. If I want to configure FTP-Accounts under "Domain&Mail" the option is missing entirely. The Server is running an FTP Server and I can connect via FTP to some parts with some users I have created in Plesk. I've scrounged the internet for information about what might be going on here but came up empty.
There is no option to configure FTP Accounts or anything FTP in Plesk. There is empty space where the link should be.
Windows Server 2012r2 Plesk Panel 12.0.18 Update #36, last updated at Feb 20, 2015
my server running version 12 on win server 2012r2 of the panel. Sometime in the last few days something has changed and I can no longer load the Admin panel on ip:8443.
I can access the panel by using remote desktop into my server and loading it locally.
I also can not connect to the server using the mobile manager app or via telnet. If I disable the firewall in the Plesk panel it works fine so I checked my firewall but incoming on 8443 is allowed. It seems the firewall is blocking ports that were previously open as I can't remote access my MS SQL server either without switching the firewall off.
The only change I'm aware of since I last used the panel is the update #36 install. Not sure where to look next?
I have experiencing strange behaviour of Plesk admin panel. Actually there were a lot of issues similar with 500 Internal Server error but mine is a bit different..
This is the log came from the '/var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log'
As you can see there is a line starts with /bin/sh: /usr/share/sw-cp-server/applications-conf.sh: Permission denied and i tried to change this one for permission like 0755 or alternatives for a run but nothings changed. Btw i have plenty of disk space, it wasn't also the case.
I cannot even login with my domain name without 'https' and with the port 8880. It's again giving me the same issue.
BTW i want to give a little extra information; it was a long time that Plesk admin panel working but after today it's stuck in 500 Internal server error. What i tried today that to follow 'How to generate custom self-signed SSL certificates and apply it to Postfix: ....' , but after 6th step i was decied to stop because i couldnt find the root.pem file a minute and than i wanted to try on plesk and i saw the bad news I don't know it was related but i wanted to share.
Health Monitor Module is installed and running on server, but not visible under Server Administration Panel > Home > Server Health on Plesk Panel 11.0.9 update #7. Is there a trick to configuring home to show it and/or a direct way to launch view of server health?
today i changed the password for the admin panel for a customer (username eg. mylogin). 10 minutes later he called me and said that he cannot get into his emailaccount anymore. Checked the password and saw that the emailpassword for his emailaddress (eg. mylogin@mydomain.com) is now the same from the admin panel login. So i changed the emailpassword and checked the admin panel login - it now has the emailpassword. What a mess.. I'm running Plesk Panel 11.5.30 MU47.
When I run apachectl -t or restart httpd I get the error
Warning: DocumentRoot [/var/www/vhosts/********/httpsdocs] does not exist Warning: DocumentRoot [/var/www/vhosts/********/httpsdocs] does not exist Warning: DocumentRoot [/var/www/vhosts/********/httpsdocs] does not exist
All three of the domains are in the panel and are working and accessible. I ran /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng --reconfigure-all hoping that it would fix things but after I ran it I still get the errors.
I have a server which I am using for multiple clients. Some with SSL enabled, some without. I have added custom ngingx conf files for nginxDomainVirtualHost.php and nginxWebmailPartial.php in /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/custom and modified the following lines to try and harden security:
I check in /etc/nginx/plesk.conf.d/vhosts/<domain>.conf and the changes are shown correctly there but browsers and online tools such as .... still say that the sites are using 128 bit encryption and TLS 1.0.
The Plesk admin panel itself displays 256 bit encryption and TLS 1.2.
When I deny all other traffic for the "System policy for incoming traffic" to secure the server by only allowing the explicit ports I've requested to open, my server stops operating correctly.
It appears when I set the "System policy for incoming traffic" to deny, it appears to be disrupting various functions such as web traffic over ports 80/443, FTP, SSH, they either work extremely slow or don't work at all.
I brought this up with my Plesk license provider and they stated that the Plesk firewall doesn't add any tracking for ephemeral ports, therefore if you set the policy to drop for incoming/outgoing, it's not going to allow proper TCP communication since the return socket can't be opened. Also that the firewall is an explicit deny system rather than explicit allow based system.
Am I doing something wrong? All I want to do is to block all ports other than the ones I've set to allow. Is this how it is supposed to work?
After Plesk panel upgrade to 12.x webadmin stopped working . It's showing following error
Code: Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

I have been fascinated by the Red5 streaming server and tried to configure it on my VPS , i could follow the instructions and get upto the demo page eventhogh most of the demo pages are not working , I believe this is a problem with the configuration and the location where the files should be uploaded after installation or the rtmp URL which should be used on the demo page for the demos to work, I have experinced the issue mainly with the oflademo.
I was quite dissappointed to see that there are not much docs available for post installation configuration of Red5 too for a normal person
I urge the members to develop this thread into a good tutorila on Installation and Configuration of Red5
Been fooling around with red5 too long now. I really need this app to work so I can use the audio/video option on my chat.
I'm willing to pay the person who can make red5 work on my linux centos server. I allready installed ant & red5, the java is just a bit to tricky for me.
Like I said, I'm willing to pay a fee for the person who can make the red5 work.
Red5 is a free open source java alternative to Adobe Flash Media Server and can be used for web based video streaming. Installing Red5 requires a dedicated server.
Do you know any shared hosting providers that have Red5 installed and available for their customers?
