May 28, 2009I have had an account with a small UK hosting site. Now about two days ago I submitted a ticket to them here we are and no reply yet, I even emailed the admin, yet to no reply.

DNS Lookup: 0.22 sec
Connect time: 0.33 sec
Host ping: 0.10 sec
That mean too slow with the other sites!
Web Host Reccomendation For Small Business

business 1: consulting. need to put up examples of my work that are photo heavy & graphic heavy. would like to use a diy template like rvsitebuilder or something similar business 2: ecommerce...something easy to use as i am not tech savy
i've researched and inmotion has a lot of good reviews, but sitebuilder does not seem that customizable. Also found Arvixe, but not true 24/7 support....
Also, being able to send large files through email is important.

Nov 13, 2008I've been using Siteground.com for a few months and they suspended my site because I was using proxy scripts. I had to remove the scripts to get my site back, but now a main function of my site is missing.
My site does not take up that much space (only 100MB), but it gets accessed frequently and especially with the proxy script it can sometimes be a burden on the server.
I need a lenient web host that allows proxy scripts and other things like CRON jobs, PHP, MySQL (with PHPMyAdmin, preferably, and multiple DBs) and email capabilities (400/hr is okay). I'm used to Linux with CPanel, so staying with the stuff I know would be best.
I need to find a reliable host that can meet these needs.

Apr 22, 2008I am currently facing a move from my existing web host, as they are altogether incompetent. Four of the last five days, my site has either been down, showing a suspended page, or redirecting to the main page of the host. (I am a legitimate business - not selling penis enlargement supplements)
So now, I need a good host, who will provide maximum value for dollar spent. My requirements are fairly simple. I need 5 SQL databases, the ability to install and configure a CMS of my choosing, and a site that is based in the US. (I need my site to be US based and listed, for very specific reasons)
I have used Rochen in the past, and am very happy with them. However, I want my sites on a different host, as several of my other sites are cross linked.
Finding services in such a competitive field is overwhelming. It's getting too hard to cut through the BS.

All 3 sites are under 1mb (not likely to go over 3 mb), written in good old HTML; I would prefer a File Manager but FTP is OK too. Must be US based and have a reasonable uptime guarantee.

Looking For A Host With Mapserver (This Time Linux)
Jul 22, 2008I am now looking for a Linux based Mapserver host (I learned that there is no such thing as Windows based mapserver host).
So we have convinced our client to look into Linux.
I found a few Linux based Mapserver host... but they all look very fishy (No physical address, telephone number no longer in service, missing pages, no reply on my email...)
I mean, EVERY single mapserver host seem like they are being run by a school kid.
Does anyone know a real professional Mapserver host (Linux or Windows)?
Website Hacked. Time For A New Host
Jun 14, 2009I have a small but somewhat popular space-history website. Very simple HTML that I typed into wordpad, but it has long pages full of photos. Since 2003, I've been using media3.net with their business-class Windows service.
A few weeks ago, mypages were hacked, and a one line script inserted that called an Adobe Flash file. Apparently this was a server-wise attack, not just my web pages. Media3.net cleaned this up, but now it has happened again.
This is bad, because Google blacklists my site, and folks on Wikipedia get upset because there are a lot of links to my site.
How are they breaking in to media3.net? I think I must change hosts, but I don't want to put my image-intensive site on overbooked hardware with limited bandwidth.
Conflicting Web Scripts, Anyway To Host Them Both At The Same Time
Jan 8, 2008I have a forum hosting script that generates a forum for you when you sign up. It NEEDS to be in the public_html directory, its one of the requirements of the scripts and it will not work without it so it must be there, and thats the basis of my whole site. However, the CMS they include with the forum hosting script is very bad, and it would take A LOT of work to get my current website design to fit to this forum hosting script.
I want to install joomla, a CMS my website template is made for. I want it so that when users go to my website they see the joomla page instead of the crappy forum hosting script's webpage. I will just use a wrapper and wrap the forum hosting signup page into joomla.
However, the files conflict such as folders and configuration files, so I can't put them both in the same directory and I really don't feel like making a subdomain for joomla or putting it in another folder as I know that is bad for SEO.
Is there anyway to make the joomla site hosted in another folder and then appear on the frontpage when someone goes to www.mydomain.com
Like a .htaccess command or anything?
Time For A New Shared Server Host
May 21, 2008I have been with Page-Zone for a couple years now. Just the past year I have had little problems with them.
-For instance once I was trying to update my website and their server went down. I thought it was something on my end so I started trouble shooting it for an hour and then it came back up.
-Another time the users on my website were without e-mail for a week, because they changed IP address.
-And finally the e-mail accounts couldn't receive any e-mails from Comcast, MSN, or Hotmail accounts. So I ended up setting up a Google Aps account for us to use for e-mail.
Granted they are very cheap but I have been having many problems with little support. Also today I just noticed that in the whois it lists Network Solutions as the technical contact. Are these things that I should be looking for a new host for?

My friend wanted to move from virpus as he was having some issues, he mentioned all his reasons in the ticket and asked for the refund amount which was already existent in the virpus account, which he had paid them much earlier.
There was no reply to his ticket even after 2 days ..
So, he asked me to send an pm to Ken, haven't got reply from Ken either.
Recently, the sales dpt, replies haven't been up to the mark at virpus , their tech support still sounds good though,

No Getway Reply Error
Mar 29, 2009i have dedicate server and i have my all sites in xhtml/wml and i have all mobile users so i had 10 mbps uplink server before 4 days but after upgrade it 10 mbps to 100 mbps my all philippines users get error "NO GETWAY REPLY" or "No response "when they trying to open my sites so what is problem ?is it this problem in my server or their network ?they call their provider smart and provider tech said its not their fault but other countries user have no problem

May 30, 2008I'm having some problems with my script, i think its not really a script error...
- Script connects to rapidshare to send a file to the user
- Rapidshare allows unlimited parallel connections, so no problem
- Though some of the time (not alot), i get a connection error.
- Connection error is: Empty reply from server
- Strange thing is, i get this when i do a curl connection to rapidshare
- ping, telnet, fsockopen, all is working, but it seems that i don't get a reply from the server
Well, is this a problem on my side or on the rapidshare servers?
Also, is there a problem to fix this?
Server is using:
- curl 7.15.5
- php 5.21
- apache 2.2.3
there's no firewall setup on my site..., also i can't find anything in iptables,...

And Skylar is not responding again.

What should I do?
Can anyone from LSN help me and restart his server? This time is much worse than Cpanel license being expired. At least at that time websites worked...
Apache2 - Many Sending Reply Slots

Sometimes it happen to us that we have really lot of apache processes (slots) in state "sending reply". This is not freed for several hours. Server status looks like:
The question is how it is possible that some apache process can be locked to one client for several hours. Other clients are being served by free slots, however what if we will have used all the slots and not freed them?

main domain working fine but both of subdomains not working in webbrowser they just reply ping requests

May 20, 2009How can I force sendmail to ignore it when a user sets the From: and Reply-to: headers for an email, such as a PHP script? I would like to force it so it always uses whatever email I set.
I cannot seem to find how to do this... sendmail config is quite difficult.

I already rebooted httpd, exim, and imap server, and the server itself too.. and problem stills.
