View 5 Replieswe have identified a number of customers with weak passwords - we wish to send them an email and then wait 1 hour - then change their passwords to the new password we have identified - due to them being across multiple domains, we don't want to do this via the PPA web gui - it would take quite a long time.
What is/are the commands for changing mailbox password for SMTP/IMAP/POP3??
i.e., is there a PPA command for changing both sides of send/receive?
We are planning to move the mail accounts and domains from plesk to other control panel. Is there any way to view the password of the accounts (domain and emails) of plesk.
So we can create the same accounts on new server with same password.
In Plesk (V. 12.0.18) there is no possibility to create mail accounts for subdomains via web interface. The KB article [URL] ..... describes this problem. The article suggests two possible ways.
I don´t want to use option 1 (create subdomain as additional domain) because a subdomain as domain wastes a domain in the license model.
Instead of that I tried the second way (command line interface). I can execute the first command without problems. When I try to execute the second command, I get the following error: "An error occured during mailname creation: Unable to set password: Domain of type subdomain selected".
Everyday after Backup Panel (Tasks from Backup Manager), I receive next error:

Resolve -> only reconfigure domain. How can I automatic fix this problem?
How do we disable the "change system user settings" option when a user creates a new webspace? I don't want customers to pick their own system username/passwords.

I correctly configured ssh by pub keys. I can SSH into service node with ip 10.0.0.2 from PPA management node without any issue.

Trying to delete a reseller that in not with us anymore. The fact is when we try to delete it, it always throws this error:

We know its a database related error, but we are not going to mess in PostgreSQL and complicate even more this situation.
Recently i have upgraded my system to Plesk 12 and im loving it. After upgrading i started checking and fixing all my SSL shortcommings. I think i've come from a far end upgrading it.
One of the fixes was the poodle fix, wich recommended to upgrade cipher suites. When analysing my cipher suites at ssllabs testing suite i get the following errors:
TLS_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_MD5 (0x4) WEAK128
TLS_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_SHA (0x5) WEAK128
TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_SHA (0xc011) WEAK128
RC4Yes WEAK
I cannot find a way to remove the weak RC4 protocol and the other three weaknesses.
We use CentOS Linux 7.0.1406 (Core) with Plesk Version 12.0.18 Update #27.
We have the following problem:
When a user clicks on a database in his account and tries to login with phpmyadmin, Plesk prompts for a Password of that specific user. The message is (in german):

When i enter the correct password a new phpmyadmin window opens and the user can use his database. A few days ago you didnt have to enter a password at all. When you were logged into Plesk as a user, you could just click "Databases -> Webadmin" and phpmyadmin opened up without Plesk asking for a password.
The question for the password is NOT coming from phpmyadmin. Its from Plesk itself. After i enter the correct password plesk hands the request over to PMA.
For debugging i created a new database for a user and i could enter its database without any problem. No password was required. But the existing old databases now all require a password. So obviously Plesk is not aware of these passwords anymore. I guess they are/were stored somewhere.
For some reason some clients including my own test account have not been able to receive emails correctly. Basically if I send email to an external add such as Yahoo, Gmail, AOL etc, they receive them fine. However all incoming mail is blank for all clients? I mean blank as it there is no time or date stamp, no sender details unless you look in the header and the title just displays unknown?
Has anyone an idea why or how this could have happened?
I've even tried these with all spam filters off etc. I think the mail prog is qmail.
When creating a new subscription via the API (Plesk 12) is there a way to specify the Mail settings? More importantly is there a way to turn off Mail when setting up a new subscription? Each time I create a subscription via the API Plesk spits out the following error:

Incoming mail on several devices with various operating systems gives me no trouble at all. However I can not find the right settings for outgoing mail for Thunderbird 24.0.
For incoming mail I noticed I had to submit mail.<name>.be and port 143, no authentication and non-encrypted password. And it works.
For outgoing mail server I've tried a lot of options:
mail.<name>.be, all ports tested, all authentication options, and with both encrypted or non-encrypted passwords, in every combination of these settings.

I tried to configure windows live mail for an email account. Domain is hosted on a windows Plesk server. Incoming mail is working but unable to send outgoing mails.

Since the plesk installation by my hoster did not include a mail server, I installed postfix and dovecot from the upgrades menu, followed the steps at [URL] .... and ran mchk to add the mail settings option to my domain. However, when I click on it, I receive the error "Warning: Permission denied." and stay on the domain overview. There is no error logged in var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log, /var/log/sw-cp-server/sw-engine.log or /usr/local/psa/admin/logs/panel.log.
I also tried "plesk bin mail --create foo@my.tld -mbox_quota 1M", but then I receive the error

I configured the plesk-outgoing-mail limitation as follows: Scripts are not allowed to send mails (see: URL ).
But a simple php-script with mail()-command can successfully send mails. How can I stop that?
I set multiple mail servers (eg media-26.com) in the black list of server-wide mail settings but i still get spams from these mail servers..does it work properly?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSince 12.0.18, when I go to Tools & Settings > Mail Server, I get this error message on the page:
"Error: The limits on outgoing mail will not work for the subscriptions that have IP addresses from the white list. To make the limits work, remove IP addresses from the mail server's white list".
However, the whitelist page just contains 127.0.0.0/8 and ::1/128, and all my subscriptions have an external IP address which is clearly not in the whitelist.
We want to configure our PPA mail node to send all outbound mail through our spam filtering appliance but don't know where to start.
Reading standard Postfix docs give basic instructions on how to direct a handful of domains through a mail relay but we want to direct every outbound email from all domains through our spam filter.
We also want to ensure that any regular updates to the mail node won't break or undo this config.
1/ What is the difference between maillog and maillog.processed? I want to keep a permanent record of all mail inbound and outbound even if delivery is deferred by the gray listing. I'm not sure which one is the best to keep.
2/ I would like to change the way that the mail logs get log rotated. I am struggling to work out exactly what happens at the moment but I would like to rotate the log out every day regardless of size. I think currently that the maillog.processed is rotated daily if it is over a specific size.
I know they're just self signed certs on the postfix mail servers used in PPA, but how can I renew them, customer was cautious about it once they saw it had expired.
I have found this: [URL] .... and was wondering is this the correct procedure to update the SSL cert?
I have plesk12 set up but when i set a mail (dovecot) password, it gets stored in plain text (which I can verify by running /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mail_auth_view ). I would like to change this default setting to be encrypted.

Just had another customer account compromised (not a very weak password either) - and that meant > 250,000 emails - a LOT of cleanup.
Not only do we need rate limiting, but we also need notification of potential abuses.
As the admin user, change the setting for a particular email account called "The maximum number of outgoing email messages" to a value beyond the default. For example if the default is 35, set it to 75. This is common -- often we have customers who send larger quantities of messages than the average user.
Login as a reseller with access to manage the email account and attempt to change any *other* value. For example, you could completely ignore the outgoing mail messages value and change just the Auto-Reply value
Plesk refuses to allow the change and kicks me back to the first tab with the following error:

When trying to access the settings for mail on a domain I get the following error:
Error: Unable to find service node for ip address with id=6
I understand this is a problem with the database but I am not sure where to look to fix it.
I only have 4 IP addresses on the system.
