Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Resource Limits Exceeded By Reseller Account
Dec 15, 2014
Reseller account receives the email:

Subject: Notification: Resource limits exceeded by reseller account.
The <account name> account is approaching or already exceeded the limits:However, no exceeded or close to exceeded resources were found. This is in the KB, but no date is on it. Has this been fixed?URL...
For some reason one of my customers email accounts seems to have been hacked. My admin account continues to say that the customer has reach over the 30 emails per hour limit. This is the email error:
following customers' domains, mailboxes and subscriptions are reached their limits for outgoing emails for the period:>From Dec/13/2014 05:47. To Dec/ 13/ 2014 06:47
Subscriptions customerdomain.com, the limit is 100 messages per hour 336 attempt(s) to exceed limits from Dec/13/2014 04:31 to Dec/13/2014 05:47
So far it has sent over 5,000 attempted in the past few hours. The customer used gmail to send from domain before, so I've changed their gmail email password. I've also changed the main email password, and the plesk username and password login for the customer. It still continues
Im getting this error when i try to create a package for a client. As far as i can tell, everything is set up properly. Its located inside my WHM area, but the billing software wont create the account and gives me:
Package Not Allowed or Exceeded Resource/Account Allocation
but i have no resource or account allocation settings set. everything is wide open.
My second question is, if i want to give someone unlimited bandwidth/storage, how do i do that? ive tried -1 and 0, but it keeps kicking it out as not valid. any ideas?
When a reseller create a service plan themselves...is there any way to limit the CPU and memory setting for the application pool to recycle on their own created plan?
I'm now with a bit of a problem on my server. I tryied to add a new domain and I haven't counted how many domains I had on my server because I was thinking that plesk would warn me if I was reaching my limitation of domains, so I added a new one...
My license was for 10 domains, and now I have 11 domains so I'm getting an error when I enter my plesk panel. The error basically says that I exceeded the number of domains of my license so I have to buy a new one.
The problem is that when I want to click on the cancel operation button on the bottom of the page I'm constantly being logged out and I cannot cancel the operation, so I'm in a loop right now: "Log in -> get error -> Cancel -> Automatic log out -> Log in"
What can I do to delete one domain completely from my server?
I recently migrated a load of domains from a pleks 8.? install to a plesk 12 one. As part of the migration a new reseller was created but all the resellers domains got "lost". They were all there and working but not appearing in the interface.
I did some googleing and fixed this problem and can now see all the domains and when I look at the reseller plesk tells me it has 0 own customers, 0 own plans and 0 own subscriptions. However, if I look at the resources tab it tells me that 7 domains out of unlimited are being used.I just wondered where plesk get's that info from and if it is safe to delete that reseller without risking the domains getting deleted too.
Is there any way to do resource throttling by subscription? What I would like to do is limit the CPU resources to all of the subscriptions equally, as some subscriptions are eating away the CPU all the time.
Version Parallels Plesk v12.0.18_build1200140606.15 os_Debian 7.0 OS Debian 7.7
I have a script which checks the mailboxes of all clients to notify them when they're reaching capacity.
This does so by checking the psa database for their set limit and matching that to the maildirsize file within the user's Maildir directory.
After upgrading, though, my SQL query no longer works - it was:
Code: SELECT clients.email as owner_email, domains.id, domains.name, Limits.value AS domain_quota, mail.mail_name, mail.mbox_quota from Limits, clients, domains, mail WHERE mail.postbox='true' AND limit_name = 'mbox_quota' AND domains.limits_id = Limits.id AND mail.dom_id = domains.id AND clients.id = domains.cl_id ORDER BY domains.name ASC
However, on closer inspection, all values in the domains table for limit_id are NULL.
Has this changed in 11.5? Is there an alternative way to quickly get all limits for domains?
I just configured the limit for outgoing mail. It works well, but I have still some questions.
Normally the server sends bounce messages in HTML and in german. They look nice and what is much more important, the users who do not speak english are informed what is going on.
The message that is send, when the limit for outgoing mail is exceeded uses a different template. It is delivered in plain text and after explaining in german that the mail could not be send, it states the reason in english.
Is there any way to edit this bounce message, so that a translation could be added?
I had some users complaining that the server is not working, because they tried again and again to send a mail and kept the counter over the limit. For they did not understand what was causing it.
to repair the databases. Worked, but give me the error
"Table 'aps_resource' doesn't exist"
One more time, i recover this table from the newest backup existing. But now, give the error " Can not find registry resource for Application ID" for one domain - I have 3 domains, 2 are working, one not.
I am looking to add a mysql external source to my plesk. So far no difficulty.
My question is if I remove the mysql server where the currently plesk. I have to say to the panel get the information (psa, roudcube, horde) on the remote mysql to invez mysql local server?
How do you reset the outgoing mail limits report?I have been doing some testing and I don't want the report to show that some of my domains are over their limits.
i am at my witts end here. mail() is running VERY slowly on all of the linux packages of my reseller account. Runs fine on windows, but not linux. The odd thing is that it also takes forever for some forms to load too. For mail(), if i switch from my hosting provider's email account in the to section of mail() to my isp or gmail or anything else, it will run fine. What could be the problem here? My host says he checked all the server records and levels and everything is fine, but my scripts can't be the problem either - they have been untouched for years!
I am having problems with two accounts, I get the following errors:
Code: Failed to copy files storage to destination path. stderr: filemng: Cannot open destination file '/var/www/vhosts/domain.tld/httpdocs/index.html.Chn3rn' System error 122: Disk quota exceeded stdout: filemng: Cannot open destination file '/var/www/vhosts/domain.tld/httpdocs/index.html.Chn3rn' System error 122: Disk quota exceeded
my costumer's web site often started to give "This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota" error

I seem to have an error with backing up to my personal FTP repository. I have only just noticed the issue, but i believe it originated when I upgraded Plesk Panel 11 to Plesk Panel 12. I am currently running version 12.0.18 on Cent OS 6.5.
Note whether i check the "Use passive mode" option makes no difference to my problem.Below is what I get from the panel.log under /usr/local/psa/admin/logs
My system usage is at 98.5% and the numproc out of 400 allowed 392 is in use It wasn't like this before and i have used up only 38% of the space alloted and cpu load is also at just 19%.
Could anyone explain me whats actually the problem of high system usage?
I own a dedicated server and have 3 cpanel for each of my 3 sites in my WHM, I was wondering how much resource would each cpanel account use?
Reason I'm asking is because I have a couple of other sites i'd like to add to this server but I'm not sure if I should simply add them as domain add-on's in one of my current cpanel accounts or if it's ok to create another for each site without using up my server's resources.
I do not have resource limit enabled, should i enabled all the reseller settings with these words? for eg: Quota Modification (Warning: This will allow circumvention of account package limits if you are not using resource limits)?
I want to allow resellers to create any amount of accounts within the limit allocated to them, should i then enable or disable it?
I upgraded from 11 to 12 (centOS) and set outgoing mail limits for mailboxes, domains and subscriptions, as per the documentation at URL....However, it doesn't appear the limits are limiting outgoing mail. As I can still send far more mail than the current limit using a PHP script.
#### maillog (partial & timestamp + servername removed for brevity) #### py_limit_out[16427]: ERROR 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'lower' plesk sendmail[16426]: Error during 'limit-out' handler plesk sendmail[16426]: handlers_stderr: SKIP plesk sendmail[16426]: SKIP during call 'check-quota' handler
[code]....
how to configure outgoing mail limits? I've also read through the sendmail documentation but couldn't find anything.
unfortunately I can not move a customer to another reseller, because of this error:
"Einige der ausgewählten Kunden wurden nicht zu **** **** verschoben. Der ausgewählte Reseller besitzt nicht die Berechtigung 'Verwaltung der DNS-Zonen', aber einige der Kunden besitzen sie."
which means "Some of the selected customers could not be moved to **** ***. The selected reseller does not have permission to configure DNS-Zones, but some of the customers do."Well, the customer does not have this permission, because no DNS-service is installed on the server. If I check the customer's permissions there is no point "DNS configuration" or something like that.
I read in the Plesk 12 release notes that resellers should have access to the new Wordpress toolkit. However, when I login with a reseller account, the Wordpress tool does not show up in the left-hand side menu. What do I need to do to give resellers access?
I have been playing around with different virtualization platforms:
- OpenVZ (newer kernels do not support hard-cpu limits for whatever reason)
- Xen Server
- Windows Hyper-V
- Linux KVM
However, none of them seem to be able to stablish HARD limits on resources for a virtual machine. Or am I missing something?
HyperVM supposedly has hard-limits because they use OpenVZ older kernels, right? -- I have not tried Parallels Containers do they have hard-limits enforced?
