I got an issue with the nameservers and DNS on Plesk. I want to be able to put my other domains on the nameservers of the domain jancoz.com but something seems to be wrong. I carefully followed tutorials about how to create nameservers with Plesk ....

Is it possible to let Plesk allow database creation from another web application ?
For example, we would like to use this framework (codeigniter) method => this->dbforge->create_database('db_name')
ACTUAL RESULT =>
The method returns false but i'm unable to track it on the error logs.
EXPECTED RESULT =>
The method should returns TRUE
And thus the database should be created
Is it some task we should manage at Plesk or Apache level ?
I use whmcs to bill my cusotmers. when a account is created, plesk sends mail from admin email and name to customer as below,
A new domain name has been created.
Domain name: xxx.xxx
Domain name owner: xxxx xxxxx
IP address associated with the domain name: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
How can I disable it ? it ends up in spam and I just don't want customers to receive it.
We seem to be getting 3 copies of all email notifications whenever an account is created, it seemed to happen after a server transfer but I can't see anywhere that is set up as a duplicate.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a VPS running Plesk 11.x and yesterdady I tried adding a new domain to my subscription and received this error:
Error: Unable to update domain data: Unable to restore the DNS zone: an error occurred while adding the DOMAINNAME IN A DOMAINNAME record: Incorrect DNS record values were specified.
I have one subscription and under that a few domains. I've not had any DNS issues before so I'm a little stumped as to where to start looking. I suspect DNS template issues but I'm not that au fait with the DNS template so I don't want to start fiddling. My service provider suggested I look at [URL] ... which doesn't appear to be related as I have no duplicate domains under my subscription.
Following on from this the VPS is my personal server and I host a few sites for friends consequently I only have the one subscription. I've been advised that I should have one subscription per domain. Is that correct information?
I would like to setup a caching Bind nameserver for which I need to modify the file /etc/named.conf. The file is automatically created by Plesk however and I am unable to find information on how to modify the file in Plesk.

# useradd -d /home/ftp/ftpadmin/ -s /dev/null ftpadmin > /dev/null 2>&1
But it doesnt seem to work when I try to ftp in. Also right now i have to ftp directly to my server IP address. How do I set it up where I can ftp in via the domain name? I am trying to create a ftp user that goes to a specific directory under home/dev/user
new server, windows 2012 dataserver R2.
I set up the personal repository info and on save it hangs. Manual ftp to that other server works. Adding :21 to the address does not work.
On a new install, if I create IPv4 and IPv6 pools (one of each enabled for branding), and create a brand using "IP address"="Shared IPv4 and dedicated IPv6", it fails without an onscreen error. A webspace is created but marked "No hosting" in PPA and Failed in Hosting Panel. A DNS zone is created. At that point I can't delete the webspace from Hosting Panel and there doesn't seem to be a way to delete it from PPA, however, I can delete the DNS zone.

When we try to add a new domain on the same web space (sharing the same document root) Plesk takes a long time to create it (about 10 minutes). While domain creation, all the other domains sharing the same document root and web space get an authentication error. When Plesk finishes, all domains work again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI added a client on Plesk, and once I chose the IP address from the drop down menu, it gave me the ns1.domainname.com and ns2.domainname.com. Once I recieved the IP for both of them, I went forward and bought the domainname from GODaddy and added namservers with the same IP Address.
Now that everything is setup and configured, whenever I try to access my site I do not get anything.

In 'Operations > DNS manager > Nameservers' the nameserver lists the hostname of the node as the nameserver. How do you specify or alter the nameserver to something different which would be more standard for example ns.domain.name?

2) I use my own nameservers for everyone else.
At my register (GoDaddy) I've added host entries to my domain (let's call it host.com) for ALL of my nameservers: DNSMadeEasy and mine. For example here are my host entries:
1) nsdme0.host.com = 55.55.55.55 (DNSMadeEasy)
2) nsdme1.host.com = 56.55.55.55 (DNSMadeEasy)
3) nsdme2.host.com = 57.55.55.55 (DNSMadeEasy)
4) nsdme3.host.com = 58.55.55.55 (DNSMadeEasy)
5) nsdme4.host.com = 59.55.55.55 (DNSMadeEasy)
6) ns1.host.com = 60.55.55.55 (mine)
7) ns2.host.com = 61.55.55.55 (mine)
At the register I've then configured host.com to use the first five nameservers for itself, the DNSMadeEasy nameservers.
For less critical sites that I host I simply point them to ns1.host.com and ns2.host.com, my nameservers.

What I've realized is that the actual IP addresses for nameserver host entries come from a higher level server than my own, in this case H.GTLD-SERVERS.net. I guess this makes sense but I just hadn't realized it before. It looks like I don't even need to have record entries in my DNS records for the host nameservers.
Now for the question. Can I:
1) Remove my custom host nameserver entries from my register.
2) Add entries in my DNSMadeEasy records to specify the location of ns1.host.com and ns2.host.com.
3) Use the failover provided by DNSMadeEasy to also fail-over my DNS entries for my nameservers?
I know this would require one more hop if it works but it would allow me to provide failover ability to fifty domains without having to purchase the extra domains at DNSMadeEasy.

I'd like a brief explanation of the process of creating a web site.
Once I sign up, how do I actually construct/configure the web site. Are there templates that I change the colours, background and text of? I don't want to actually construct my own web pages. I just want to "brand/personalize" some template and then let it operate. (And if I'm using some ambiguous terms, please correct me.)
Also, I wanted to know if hosting companies allow one to experiment with an "offline" web site; one that I can set up and play with (via a password or such) using their templates until I have a better idea of what I want or what I can do in terms of presentation (perhaps a month?). Once that's done, I wanted the ability to cancel the whole idea or put what I have on line.

I created a database for my site and then a subdomain.
The subdomain is already working but the database still shows pending setup. Normally, the database setup is much faster than the subdomain setup.
I'm not sure what's going on. Their email support sucks. They don't even reply on time. I can't call them because I'm overseas. It would be a very expensive phone call.

I ftp'd some eztemplate files for Debian, Ubuntu, Centos and Fedora. I only rpm'd the main o/s rpm and the devel rpm.
I ran vzpkg create cache and got the below error.
