Ping & Tracert Fine, Then Why Cannot Find Server?
Jan 4, 2007I have a problem with one of my domain. Some users around the world cannot access the website, but they can ping and traceroute the server without any problems. I am able to access the website perfectly.

And we are using IPB 2.2
Moreover if theres another domain on the same server, they can access it.
There are about 25-30 users who are facing this problem, but from different part of the world so I cant even say ISP problem.
APF has been shutdown, no Ban Filters on IPB or cpanel.
What are the possible reasons why they couldn't access the website? how to fix the problem?
Apache :: Access HTTP Address Redirects To HTTPS Just Fine
Jun 19, 2013I'm currently struggling with an issue on our Apache 2.2.24 home-rolled installation on an OEL 6.2 x64 linux server that front-ends for a Glassfish cluster via proxypass.The httpd.conf manages 4 virtual hosts with each virtual host entry rewriting to HTTPS.
Anyone trying to access the HTTP address redirects to HTTPS just fine.The issue is that anyone using the HTTPS address gets redirected to the Document Root defined in Apache instead of being proxypassed to Glassfish.
I had set up a dummy DocumentRoot with a simple index.html meta redirect and what happens is that anyone directly accessing HTTPS will hit the index.html file which redirects to the the https site. At this point it simply loops to infinity.
Memory Fine, Cpu Fine, Server Load RED
Jul 12, 2008The memory usage on my server is fine, I watched the CPUs for a long time and watched the server load also, the CPUs were easily riding along not often going over 20% (I have 2) yet the thing is, the server load is very strangely going mad... It's rarely under 6.0 (2 cpus) and sometimes goes into 20s, yet the server doesn't slow, nothing stops working but it simply goes red and shows it's bad news.
I've been told that the only other thing that might be causing this is the hard drives... I have 2x160GB 7200rpm hard drives - not sure if they are SATA etc..
If anyone has any ideas as to why the server load is so high - but everything else is fine -

Some Sites Load Slow, Some Sites Load Fine, Server Load Is Fine
Aug 12, 2008I'm having the oddest issue. For some reason, some of the websites on my server load fine, and some take a really long time to load (2 minutes).
Now, the server load is fine, and the size of the sites aren't the issue either. I've restarted Apache and a couple more services, and still the same sites seem to load very slow.
What could be causing this since it's only effecting certain websites?

But I am not able to access that site using domain.com/example, it says that "The server could not find this page".
Access Blocked To My Site
Feb 25, 2009It appears that I may have my access blocked from my home network to my web site. I was attempting to set up a POP email account the other night on the server. Since then, I have not been able to access my domain name through ANY of my browsers.
Also, I cannot log-in via FTP. I also tried from my iPod touch on my wireless network at home, no access.
I was able to access and FTP today at work. I also can access on my blackberry. How is this possible?

Can't Access My Web Site, Host Says It's My ISP
Feb 25, 2008Can't access my web site, my web host says it's my ISP.
My WebHost said "It seems that your ISP cannot resolve the domain".
Can an ISP have any control over the accessibility of individual domains?
That's sounds a little strange to me.
My ISP support is currently closed, but I suspect they'll tell me to contact my web host.
I was able to access it earlier today.
What do you think? Is the ISP theory possible?
Can't Access My Site Or My Host
Oct 1, 2008I woke up this morning to find I wasn't able to access my domain based email or my website. So I figured I would check with my host, (www.hostpc.com), and I was unable to access them, also.
I had someone else from a remote location and PC check and they can access hostpc as well as my website.
My PC is up and running fine otherwise.
I Get An Error When I Try To Access My Site

when I try to access my site.
The error accured after I "optimized" (yeah sure) Im killing my self, lol,
the file /etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-mpm.conf
and restarted the server, I am on a dedicated server, Linux Centos 5 with DirecAdmin panel.
First it worked, there was no problem at all, then after 5-15 minutes I got the above error?
What is weird is that all other websites I have on the server works fine, it only this one which doesnt work:

And what is more weird is that the temporary index.html file I have uploaded is accessible?
but the normal index.php file which my website use is not.
All worked perfect without problem before but now I get the above error.
Please again help, I promise after this time I wont "optmizing" anything Why cant I just be satisfied and stop mendling with what I dont know.
I recieve around 400-500 visitors a day so I hope you can help me fix this problem.

How To Allow Client-only Access To A Production Site
Aug 4, 2008How I do put a website of a client that is in production and give them access it to view it while preventing search engines from indexing it? I had the production site on a sub domain but search engines would inevitably index it. I could a no-index robot text but if people had the domain, they'd still find it. I want to just put it on my server and the client can login with a PW and view the status.

How To Get A Copy Of Entire Site Without FTP Access
Jan 19, 2007to get a copy of their entire site onto our servers.
The problem is that they have no backups, and their current host has denied them access to their account. (It's a long story.)
Rather then try and fight with their old host, I wonder if it's easier to just run some kind of "website copy" program and grab a copy of all pages and images, linked files, etc..
Their current website pages are served using an ASP database application, but the copy they need only has to work. It doesn't need to be dynamic, etc... as long as all the pages are there it's good.
Weird Masked IP Result

(I find some of the results interesting and/or funny.)
I also have it e-mail me the visitor's IP address and browser client.
I recently got one with a result for the IP address that certainly got my interest.

Speedtest Result Variation
May 7, 2008I was wondering if I could get you kind folks out there to do me a small favor. I've been puzzled over the last couple of days by a number different results I've been getting through different web-based speedtest applications you can use.
Now, I have a server in the LA Peer1 datacenter. From where I am, running my own webserver hosted speedtest application, I can get a maximum download line rate of 1500 kbps. However, when I run Serverbeach's hosted on their own server in the same datacenter, I get a much lower rate -- 650Kbps. I've run this a couple of times now both immediately after each other and I can't figure out the variation. Could some of you try both applications and post results?

Access DirectAdmin Site Without Domain - Possible With CPanel
Mar 7, 2009I'm new to using directadmin and I've got a problem; I've not yet switched the DNS over to the directadmin server 'cause I want to make sure the sites work first, however I can't find how to view the sites. With cpanel you can go to http://192.168.1.1/~username (where 192.168.1.1 = IP of server and username is username of account).
is this possible with directadmin? I can't find anything about it, anywhere.

Single User Can't Access Any Site On My Server
Feb 16, 2009I have a user who says he cannot get to any site on my server from either home or work. He has been a user for many years, and has never had any problems. He has also checked with his IT at work and they confirmed the site is not available. He is computer savvy, so I trust he is telling the truth.
His work and home are only 10 miles apart.
Do you guys have any ideas what could be happening? Is there a DNS entry wrong somewhere? He can't access the site even when putting in the IP address.
There is one other user reporting something similar but other than that no other complaints. The site works fine for everyone else.

Can MRGT Be Config To Show Fault Result?
Mar 4, 2008if MRGT graph to mesure BW can be config to show faulty results? like 20% more than what i am actualy using?
The reason i am wondering is because i have a server which is an image hosting and running lighttpd as webserver. The only thing consumming BW now is lighttpd for images.
While the status page of lighty show i am using about 4.2Mbytes ~ 32-34mbits then the BW graph of data center show that i am using something like close to 52mbits.

Apache :: Access Denied When Accessing New Virtual Host Site
