My Experience With VPSland -- 3.5 Months
Jun 11, 2007
Just wanted to share here my experience with VPSland.
I've registered to the provider 3.5 months ago. I was in a hurry to find a fully administrated windows-based hosting service, and so I finally chose VPSland. At the time I wasn't aware of this forum, BTW.
The server was available for my use about 6.5 hours from the submission of my order, a reasonable time IMO. Unfortunately my good impressions with this provider end at this point.
The server seemed nice and responsive, so within a few hours I proceeded to request VPSland for some DNS records in their DNS servers, before I set my domain to use their name servers.
Although my request for the DNS records was simple IMO (I could do it in 2 minutes), it took them over 2 days to fully comply with my requirements. At first, it seemed like they do not take the time to carefully read what I write them. Then, it seemed like they just have no idea of what they are doing. At some point they even told me I should "allow sometime for DNS propagation", although the nslookup outputs I've provided them showed clearly that I was querying their own servers, so propagation isn't an issue.
My first support ticket therefore left me concerned with their support team's ability, but I just hoped for the best and continued on. Another request for DNS changes a month later, followed also the same pattern, though this time, I was able to wrap it up within just over a day.
Shortly after I finished this first issue, the VPS crashed while I was working on it. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary, and the connection simply fell, with the control panel for the VPS being inaccessible as well. So I submitted another ticket saying there is no communication, and the control panel is down. To this I received the reply "try restarting the VPS from the control panel" (which, as I clearly said, was down). So again, it seems they don't read what I write them. To their merit, I should say that their initial reply (though unhelpful) was quite rapid -- within 6 minutes. I took them, however, another 3/4 hour to actually fix the problem.
The VPS kept crashing later quite often, with a total of 4 crashes during the first month, 2 crashes during the 2nd month, and another 2 crashes during the 3rd month. The treatment for each of these crashes took 30-60 minutes, so none of these were horrible, but I was pissed off of not having a peace of mind, obliged to constantly monitor the site to assure it is online.
But what really took the cake was what happened a week ago. My VPS crashed, and was down for a whopping 18 hours -- during this entire time I had no web or mail services. This left me shocked. I couldn't understand how can any serious company allow a service to be down for 18 hours. They said that there were some problem with the node running my VPS, and the whole time I was thinking, if there is a problem with a single node (since other VPSs were up at the time), why not just move the VPS to a different node? I actually said that to them, and begged them to get the VPS running, but as I said, this only happened after an 18 hours failure, when they finally fixed the node.
You'd think they'd compensate me for something like that, but first they offered me only one buck (something which I perceived as an insult, really). I complained again, but all they offered was, in accordance with their SLA, a measly 10% credit, which is 2.9 bucks.
The last 18 hours long crash finally shook me from my stagnancy, and I begun to do some serious research for a new, dependable provider. I'm hoping to move from this provider by the end of the month.
The main advantage of VPSland is their low prices. They also usually offer reasonable response times for "normal" support requests.
However, anything beyond the scope of the very standard support request takes a very long time to complete. They are highly independable, and from what I perceived, most of their staff is unskilled.
I'd post our site's address here, so you can see that VPSland really hosts it, but being a new user I'm prohibited from posting the URL here.

I have host with them less then 3 months, and in that time my sites ware down about 15 days ...
1 month ...
I have bought first dedicated server with buzzservers.com and I have thought that my problems finely get end. But NO ... After I have pay them, I have must wait instead 24-48 hours more than 7 days to get my server and even then they gave me something completely different. After maybe 7 days, I have requested OS reinstall because some problems with installing some components, yes I have also made mistakes but not like buzzservers.com . I have thought that OS reinstall will be complete very quick but again NO. I have wait another 8 days to get my sites back, because they have some problems, they even not respond to support tickets more than 3 days, not just to me, but to many other customers. And after they finally installed everything, we have agreed that they will in return for my lost days I only for next month pay half of price and they will install some addons (Just to add, I have send them maybe about 2-3 tickets and they only at the end of month change my Invoices for paying only half price, and they never install what I have ask from them.) This is end of my first month ... pretty nice ... haha
2 month
It is begin nice, everything work nice, and this was very good month with buzzservers.com. But some where in the middle of the month, I get notice that my Cpanel license is not OK, I could not access to cpanle or any of my customers, they sort this after 3 days, also there was some problems with slow resolvers, witch they sort out after 2-3 days. I almost forgot ... With my server I have ordered Fantastico support, about 3 dollars I think, they NEVER install that ... I have send them every month ticket about that. they just forgot or replay me, It will be installed soon, but NO ...
3 month and last month of my horrible experience with BuzzServers.com.
After more then half month past OK, at end of month my server stop responding, I have send them tickets and they replay me that HDD is bad. I have ask them that they if possible to just extract backup data, my sites, they agree. After waiting about 24 hours they finish install, but when I have log in to WHM i start to get many errors, I report them that, and after waiting more than 2 days they respond me that they can not install Cpanel, and that I must wait ... That was to much for me ... I have then ask them to keep my backup data and return me half of money for next month because I have pay them before HDD failure ... They say YES. After I have bought new server, it past maybe 12-15 hours, and ask form them my backup, they say that they lost them ... !!! I could not believe ... I have been calm and wait another 3-4 day to see will they find my backup ... but of course you can guess ... They never find them, they even some how delete backup on bad HDD.
I have then ask from them to return all my money for next month ... but NO ... I am now waiting more then 45 days now for my money ... I have only open 1 tickets, never be angry or insult them or something other, I always tray to nicely resolve things ... This is only big problems, I do not even wish to write about many small problems, how they forgot things or like now they do not even wish to replay me now ... I have also tray everything to resolve with they support, and to not start topics on this forum, but I see that they only tray to get on time and everything forget ...

Would just like to recommend vpsland[dot]com for your VPS Hosting. I ordered my VPS through there very High Tech looking billing system that has a seemless link to their Virtuozzo VPS's as they are both made by Paralells. It then took under 24 hours for my VPS to be setup. I have found no problems with the VPS, the company even assisted with the installing of IonCube Loader for my PHP.
The support is brilliant, LiveSupport is offered and so is ticket support. The support response is very fast and you can reply by email no need to login to a portal or anything. Its so simple to use. They use Kayako for their support, its very reliable and works smoothly.
I have also had completely no downtime caused by VPSLAND and their systems, they have been veyr reliable and I would recommend them to anybody look for a cheap VPS. They also currently have an offer on Doubel Memory on many VPS's aswell as 50% off the first month. THe prices are exptremly competetive.
They are the ideal company if you are either very experienced or if you have no experience of servers at all.

I've seen nothing but bad reviews for VPSLand ever since I've been here. There have been the occasional good reviews, but those are usually posted by people with poor grammar and spelling and with less than 10 posts. So I got curious, and wondered if VPSLand really is as bad as everyone is saying.
Needless to say, I decided to try them out. They were running a 50% off the first month special which was perfect since I wouldn't be losing too much money in case anything bad happened. I chose the smallest Windows 2003 Virtuozo plan which came out to be $9 for the first month.
VPS was setup within 7 hours of payment. After tinkering around with my VPS, I decided I wanted to switch to 32bit (I was on 64 bit). I sent in a ticket asking for them to switch my OS. They said it was possible and proceeded to do it. After a day, I reminded them about it and within 2 hours they switched the OS.
I've sent in various support and billing tickets for different things and every time it's been resolved within 12 hours. My VPS has been up every time I have checked, but I haven't been monitoring it 24/7. However, every time I've needed it, it's been there. The speeds are pretty decent as well, I've only noticed lag a couple times within the 3 weeks I've been with them so far.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with VPSLand. I don't use their support as much since I prefer to learn everything myself so I just use Google to search for what I need and then I do it. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones, but for the price I'm paying ($18 a month for a 512MB Windows Server 2003 VPS) I'd say it's definitely worth it.

I have been using these guys for about 5 months now. I've never had a network problem with any of my VPS systems I have had with them. Uptime for me has been 100% without any issues.
Technical Support:
Technical Support was A+. Every little problem I had that google couldn't explain right, was solve by their tech support by time I checked my ticket. Not once did they give me a problem or a run around about a problem I had. They fixed it without delays.
Ticket System:
Send a support ticket, expect to get an answer very soon. All my tickets were answered in a timely fashion. Some in just 2-3mins, Talk about quick service.
System Resources:
As everyone knows, a VPS is shared between a dedicated server, and sometimes your VPS will be slowed/dragged depending on the amount of VPS networks setup on a system. My system has 1.5gb ram and I dont even know about the CPU process I have available. I have had no kind of system lag. I almost feel like my VPS is an actual dedicated server sometimes haha.
Long story short, I rate VPSLAND.com a 10/10

its the 5th day, my site and service are down, so i'm writing something about vpsland.
After doing so much hard work i got a good position on all search engines, and day by day im losing my positions only for my poor hosting, cause its down
The Problem began when i told them to upgrade my php version . Well. they did it but after that my site went offline
i couldn't start my vps or mysqld from virtuozzo. Now they fixed the mysqld thing. but the service called "named" is corrupted, so site is still offline. SO thing is like...
If you tell them to solve problem 1 and 2, they will solve the problem 1 and 2, but the new problem will occur ex.problem 5 and 6. they will fix the problem 6 but problem 5 will exist. They will ask you to make backup for thousands time, if you reply them Hello i have all of my backups, they will still ask for your permission and ask for backup. how decent they are.

A few month ago I needed some Windows VPS server and checked out WHT.
Apparently some folks recommended VPSLand and I thought it would be a good choice. Well after a few weeks with them I decided to move to another firm, because their Support is worse then I have ever seen with any hosting company.
It takes days to get an answer and in one occasion i even had to cancel the server since they couldn't get it to work again
Then yesterday one server went offline and after waiting a half day on support I received an email telling me that the server was online since months.
Then the hit today was that they just shut down one of the server cause he would use to much CPU
The thing which puzzles me is that they shut it down without notice and have me, the client, figuring out why i can't login
Long story short. I will move all my server to another company and can only recommend you to stay away from those guys.

VPSLand has some pretty slick prices. In spite of all the bad stuff said about them I decided to give them a try. I purchased their Windows-EZ Starter Value plan which uses Virtuozzo.
Setup:
- Not too bad, not great. Took a little while.
- Their management panels are in multiple places - not just one centralized dashboard from whence to access all other areas.
General:
- They don't automatically run backups, I had to run the backup myself.
- They didn't tell me not to apply Windows updates so I hosed my slice almost
immediately.
- Apparently my slice was rebooted without me knowing it b/c I had IIS set to manual and when I woke up one day it had stopped. I set it to automatic to avoid this.
- I had all sorts of install and permission issues with SQL Server 2005/08 Express, eventually gave up.
Support:
- Support is generally slow. Takes several hours for a response even if issue is emergency.
I'm not sure how many of these issues are Virtuozzo related and how many are VPSLand. I know I don't like Virtuozzo (call me old school, I want to apply my own patches), so I decided to purchase one of their Xen VPS. I purchased the WindowsXL-1024. Here's my thoughts on that experience thus far:
Setup:
- Took a long time.
General:
- Installed Windows Updates and suddenly couldn't get out to the internet (though I could still RDC in).
- Submitted trouble ticket and they fixed it but didn't tell me how.
- They told me not to apply Windows Updates - wait, I thought thats why I just got a Xen VPS? Waiting for their response.
Support:
- Several hour response time.
Well, its only been a day or so on the Xen VPS, I'll let you know how things go.

i'm thinking to pass to VPSLand. My website has 52'000 views/day and 11'000 visitors/day. I need windows, .net2 and MySQL.
What do you think of them? Their prices are very good and the service looks good too.
In particulare i was interested in the Value plan (29 $/month):
vpsland.com/ezwin.html
Any negative/positive experiences? What about support?
Somebody has a link to a website hosted with them?

I undertand weekend understaffing but this MINOR issue took about 48 hours to resolve.
So if you needd some toy remote linux machine VPSLAND is a bargain but if you do some business stick to reputable hostings.

I used VPSland.com for the past 2 weeks and of course I enjoyed the first week of their servicc. It seriously got worse. There so called "network" for the server soo slow. They seriously messed up my server box as I was using it to host my databases for a game server. I'm currently using the "Starter" package and of course will not be using anything of theirs for long. The RDP (Remote Desktop) is horrible. Their network is terrible goes down all the time for me. I didn't worry about the network as far as i cared but they did something so stupid. I asked them for a password change, 6 hours later they reply, it works, then my box goes dead. Then I ask them why. They answer "There seems to be network problems with your box." I was like alright, they fix, then done. I login into my customer panel & RDP. NOTHING NO FILES, NO DATABASES OF MINE LEFT. Everything gone. I open a support ticket, they say they don't delete anything but after they changed my password, they totally screwed over my box. I ask them why the hell they removed all my important files. They answer "Sorry your box has many corrupted components, we recommend an re-installation. Please make a backup. When you are ready please reply" I'm like WTF? Where the hell are my files to even start with, how the hell do I make a backup. They answer "Thank your box has successfully been re-installed" yet now I still wait for there lame support (6hours after replies).
They messed up all my files, and important databases. I really want an explanation of what happened but they seem to ignore me. Hopefully my service/business project I have worked so hard on, so have other players to my gameserver will be restored. And yes I'm very angry, hope all your servers die & customers leave.
Also may anyone recommend me with a better VPS service? I need a cheap VPS which offers about 512MB-1GB of RAM guaranteed from a price of $10-$45.

In short: stay away.
The long version:
We ordered VPSLAND.com a week ago. The setup was fast, the config was smooth, prices are great (1Gb RAM server for 30 bucks a month, 50% discount for the first month - wow!). We moved our website (nothing special, 15 pages + SQL-Express database)
But then ((
I got up in the morning and saw an alert from "siteuptime.com" that our website is down for 4 hours... I pinged - timeout. Interesting - the web panel said that the server is fine and running... I rebooted the server and opened a support ticket, and after 8 hours the answer was "we had a hardware problem on the host server resolved now".
In the next few days I got another morning alert. Guess what. The site is down for 8 HOURS. God knows haw many clients we've lost... Again - the server is showing up as "running" in the webpanel, but it is totally unreachable. The support ticket answer was "we've updated the Virtuozzo version and restarted the host, it should work fine now"
...ok... I started to look for alternatives. Found "kickassvps" (recommended here) and asked them a couple of presales questions. And while I was waiting for a response - the server was down a couple of times again... Even now, after I transferred my website (runs fine BTW) I want to login to VPSLAND server (to remove my databases and do some cleanup) and guess what? It is f####ng down! )

I was looking for a windows vps for a few days and I've found vpsland through WHT but I saw some bad reviews about it but I took the chance any way as all what I had to pay is 9.5$ only for a Lite Windows VPS which is a gerat deal really!
Any way I submitted my order in Tue, Mar 11, 2008 at 12:08 PM
I received my account information in Tue, Mar 11, 2008 at 3:58 PM
I was really impressed with the fast setup of the VPS I thought it would take like 24-48 hours to setup it but it didn't even take 5 hours!
I logged in using the info to the RDP and I was happy with the speed I'm getting for 256Mb of RAM
I tried downloading and uploading two large files as a test for the connection speed and I got a very good speed really .
I sent an e-mail to the support asking about if Plesk is included with my account but I didn't notice in the package that it isn't
any way I sent the e-mail in Tue, Mar 11, 2008 at 6:55 PM
and received the reply in Tue, Mar 11, 2008 at 7:26 PM
I would like to thank vpsland for the good service and I hope your service stay always like that
I would be more than happy to provide my domain name hosted with vpsland to any of the admins for verification

I recently decided to upgrade to a VPS from shared hosting. I have decided to give VPSLand a shot, even though I am a little skeptical after reading a few negative reviews.
I will be providing an in-depth ongoing analysis of my experiences with them for the benefit of the WebHostingTalk community.
I signed up for the "Windows-EZ VPS Value" package.
RAM: 768MB (a great vlaue)
HDD: 8GB
Transfer: 300 GB
Price: $29/month
( with 50% off first month coupon my total was $14.50 )
After completing the sign-up process, I checked my email and noticed I had received 6 automated e-mails from them during the process
The order was placed at 9:46am.
They e-mailed me that my VPS was created at 10:10am (nice)
The followup e-mail with my server information arrived at 10:20am. For a total of 34 minutes from sign-up to server access. So far I am very happy.
I will run a few tests and follow-up shortly.

I was searching a few days ago for a good vps hosting. When I found out VPSLAND.COM, I was very surprised. Their prices are the cheapest on the net and, I thinked it was an hoax. So I did a bit of search on the net, and I found many negatives comments on them. But, I decided I try them anyway and buy a Windows VPS... and I think it was the good option !
The "supposed" downtimes and "non-replying support team" are totaly fictive. You want service, then, you get it with VPSLAND.COM. They offer great VPS plans at a price you will never see at other webhosters. And, since 3 days, no downtime.
I would like to hear people's stories about VPSLAND.COM if anyone haves.

According to the reviews on the Forum. Most of you won't trust an important client/application to a VPSLand VPS.
So I was wondering if you would trust a critical application to KickassVPS?
Why my question?
I am evaluating to consolidate 2 VPSLand based VPS into 1... the load is not so high and KickassVPS seems to provide more features for the buck... not to mention Plesk and Smarterstats...

After a few years of having our site hosted with Hostexcellence it became apparent the necessity of moving to a more dependable place, so I started to look for a VPS hosting company.
After many hours of going through Google, forums and hosting web pages I came up with a list of providers that fit my needs, or so I thought.
Here is the list:
VPSLand
Lunarpages
The Zone
EMC Telecom
I have to mention that I was in Spain, visiting, although our company is located in Hollywood, Florida.
VPSLand
I did sign with VPSLand choosing their EZ-Silver VPS hosting plan at a cost of $30.00 plus $2.00 for a Plesk Reloaded(TM). Taking advantage of their first month 50% off they charged my credit card for $17.00.
The next day my credit card was credited for the same $17.00 and never hear from them again.
Lunarpages
I placed the order with Lunarpages the 4th of March and I got a welcome letter pitching their affiliate program. My credit card was charged the following day for an amount of $109.95.00 that correspond to their VPS Plan hosting plus Setup fee, plus several other things. I have to point out that Lunarpages is the only VPS hosting among the ones that I reviewed that charges for setting up the system.
Same day I got the following message: ....

I've been hosting a site on vpsland.com for a month now and so far their service has been excellent.
I used to host with a shared hosting provider but my site got too large and too slow so I moved over to VPSLAND and everything has been excellent since.
I had a few issues at first setting up the site however I raised a few support tickets and they told me what I needed to do to continue. They even offered to help configure my site if I supplied them with the appropriate username/password for the server.
I've got a Linux EZ Bronze package that comes with double the RAM (128Mb*2) which costs $15 per month. I looked around for a while to get a VPS and this seems competitive to me.
So far I've had no downtime on my site and web response is fast.

I've had a VPS from vpsland.com for a while now, but for the past week the services I've recieved are absolutely abysmal.
My server just went *off* - no clue, no trace. Then after repeated requests the server comes online, and just BARELY. All my websites, and the control panel (plesk) are offline. In fact even the virtuozzo control panel (on port 4643) is offline.
No credit, no apologies, nothing. Quite ridiculous.
I'll be shifting elsewhere. Any suggestions? I need a VPS around $50 a month - excellent services necessary.

Tektonic.net - This is a great host. They have excellent service and awesome uptime. The speeds are fast and you never need to worry. Also very cheap. They've only gone down once for me, and that was due to a DDoS attack. Domain: txitcs.com
VPSLand.com - Another good host. Excellent service, good uptime, very fast speeds, and very cheap. They were a little bit of a pain when I first registered with them, saying that it _could_ take 24-48 hours to create the VPS (which I know is BS) but it was done within a couple of hours so I didn't complain too much. Best bet for a good, cheap windows VPS host. IP Address: 65.75.252.33
joesdatacenter.com - Great webhost. Very awesome prices on dedicated servers. He doesn't have live chat, but he usually responds to emails within 10-15 minutes. Servers are fast, and so is the speed. Domain: thetestingdomain.com
godaddy.com - Overall they're not a bad web host. Customer service is definitely pretty good. Server speeds are a little slow at times. IP Address: 97.74.65.198
