i have a dedicated box with centos.. i wold like to install VmWare workstation and a virtual windows image in vmware program, and then i wold like to make remote desktop on windows image from vmware..
Where can i find a step-by-step guide on how to install ffmpeg-php on windows? I got totally lost while doing that. Below are the steps i'v taken so far:
- Dled Windows EXT from here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=122353 (ffmpeg_new.rar) - Unzipped it. -Copied all php_ffmpeg_... dlls into php's ext dir -Copied avformat.dll and avcodec.dll to system32 folder -Activated ext (i am using WAMP5) -Restarted Apache -Ran phpinfo(); and didnt see the ext activated.
I designed my companies website but we've had a change in IT and php went down. The new guy (who is here to fix things) just sent me this and quite frankly I'm at a loss (i use a VPS, thus never having to deal with this stuff). But seeing how it's my own company I figured I'd try to help.
Here is the question:
Quote:
You are running IIS (windows server). The PHP should be something straight forward, but as we see it is not... Previously, you had PHP ver PHP 5.2.6 dated may 2008. - it wasn't working correctly. I updated it with the latest version php-5.2.9-1 dated march 2009. - and now the PHP is not functioning.
My questions, if you know was to figure which option of PHP cgi are you using. IIS ISAPI module IIS FastCGI IIS CGI
Then, when installing the PHP, there are many extensions that are optional to install. Do you know or can you tell me, which extensions are needed by your app?
Honestly, the website just uses a few php includes to template it (and make my life easier). And that's what were trying to get working.
my current situation is that i'm currently renting out a server in a datacenter, and there is no realistic way I can get physical access. Call me cheap, but I really don't fancy shelling out $100 to get my techs to install it. I do have an idea though, and I just wanted to know how realistic it is / how I would go about performing it.
My server has a rescue shell (uses busybox) that I am able to re-install the OS from (all linux OSes), re-partition the HDD and do general troubleshooting things from. If I was to create a VMware machine on my local computer, install windows 2003 and use a hdd image cloner (from within the machine) to create an image of the HDD, how would I go about copying this image to the server's HDD? I don't know of any cross platform "HDD backer upper / recoverer thingies"
I am trying to install Magento on my apache server. I am running into the dreaded mcrypt issue as Magento needs it to run. I have now been googling for the past few hours and have gotten nowhere.
Here are my details:
Linux Centos 5.5 PHP 5.3.3 x86_64 Plesk 12
I have tried installing all sorts of different repos and it just isn't working.
When I try to install using # yum install php-mcrypt I get the following:
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Package php-mysql is obsoleted by php-mysqlnd, trying to install php-mysqlnd-5.5.13-3.el5.remi.x86_64 instead --> Processing Dependency: php53-gd for package: psa-php53-configurator --> Processing Dependency: php53-imap for package: psa-php53-configurator
I have a Windows Mobile 6 (Blackjack II) phone that I am connecting to my cpanel VPS via Pop3.
I have a number of pop3 accounts setup to check for email every 30 minutes. However, every couple days the phone stops downloading mail and if I do a manual send and receive I get a "The Server Certificate is not valid. Continue Anyway?" with a yes/no. If I click yes, the email downloads and then the automated emails will work for several days and then the process is repeated.
Does anyone know how to either disable this check on the phone (no luck finding that yet), or to install the certificate from the cpanel mail server to the phone?
The company I work for unfortunately runs their site on a IIS server. I want to install some forum software, vBulletin or phpBB onto the server and run it on the same site. PHP of course needs to be installed to do this.
Boss is worried that putting PHP on same server as ASP might take down the site if something goes wrong. What are the odds of this happening if I follow directions and what steps should I take to install?
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Panel version 11.5.30 Update #47
The Webadmin app does not install all the folders it needs to run correctly. I have downloaded and repaired the install as noted in [URL] ..... This did not repair the install. All the folders that are needed in the application directory in the vhosts folder are still missing. I have attached the install log.
I am trying to install Spam assassin on Plesk 12.0.18 on windows server 2012 r2 . I am getting error:
Error: Unable to set Plesk SpamAssassin 3.3.2 as the default Spam Filter: defpackagemng failed: Execute spammng.exe --check failed with error code 1: Unable generate the unique file name by template D:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskAdditionalPerlsiteetcmailspamassassinlocal.cf[*].bak: directory D:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskAdditionalPerlsiteetcmailspamassassin does not exist
I have tried re-installing and installing spam assassin from command and as per the solution given in below KB: URL....But I an still not able to install in on the server. I have checked all directory paths are correctly located.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of each solution? So far we have been using Virtuozzo Windows VPS and we would like to learn how it compares to MS Virtual Server 2005.
Ok so I just installed apache 2.2 on windows server 2008.
I would like to set it up so if I go to 99.144.79.25(Server IP) I get index1.html. If I go to example.com which points to 99.144.79.25 I get index2.html. If I go to example3.com which points to 99.144.79.25 I get index3.html.
So kind of like, if the domain folder is not found on my server, give the page index1.html.
In the long run I want to run a bunch of sites with different domains, testing right now though.
I already have a great reliable Linux VPS from WiredTree. They are awesome service. Too bad they don't offer any Windows VPS.
Anyone have any suggestions for a good Windows VPS? I don't need it managed much. It just has to be secure and offer mysql. A panel would be nice but not really needed. Also I would like the VPS to have a good and fast setup time too.
I'm currently looking for a very cheap Windows VPS host, comparable to VPSland.com. Virtuozzo would be nice, and memory/bandwith isn't a big deal, price it the main concern right now. If anyone can help, that'd be nice
(P.S. - Plesk/Virtuozzo are required to make it possible that you may access the VPS server via web browser only? If so, that would be a must.)
Let me start by saying that I'm a complete newbie (also known as n00b) when it comes to server administration, and such. However I'm curious about the licensing scheme used in Windows VPS envrionements.
Let's imagin that I have a box with only a very good set of hardware, enough to handle 10 windows 2003 VPS in it. Based on this, my questions are fairly simple and straight to the point: What software do I need to make a box host 10 windows VPS? Is it just Windows Virtual Server 2005 R2 and Windows Server 2003?
What licences do I really have to pay? 1x Windows Server 2003 or 10x Windows Server 2003? (I've noticed that Windows VS 2005 is free to download so I erased that part of the question);
Simple questions for a knowlegeble guy, right? I figured...
Now, for the last set questions, let's say that I want to have a SQL Server 2005 standard in each of the 10 Windows Virtual Machines. How many SQL Server Licenses would I need? 10?
We use VS 2005 and are happy with the stability and performance etc but wanted to know if there are any great advantages to using virtuozzo? It seems that a higher ratio of VPS per box can be achieved with virtuozzo due to the ability to share RAM but is this worth it for the extra cost of licenses and possible security / stability risks?
I got some question regarding MS virtual server2005 R2.
1. If i created an instance of Windows2003 in virtual server2005, if i screw up something. would it affect or crash my host server? I have a colo Windows2003 R2 standard server but it also host several websites that i don't want it to go down if i mess up the instance in vs2005. i believe it won't affect the host but i just want to confirm this. does anyone have problem with screw up guest OS taking down the host OS?
2. how about liscense? do i need to purchase an liscense of Windows2003 in order to run in virtual server?
3. how much RAM do you think i need to assign to it? my colo server spec. is AMD64 dual core 4000+ w/4GB of RAM. Do you think 512mb is good enough for the guest OS (windows2003).
Is there best way to setup VPN on windows server to access net (PPTP) . I have try few guide that let me login to server using vpn, but can not access th internet.
I'm using Vertrigo 2.30 which in turn uses Apache 2.2.26 as part of its stack I am trying to set up virutal host on Windows 7 home premium.in httpd.conf I have uncommented Include conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf in C:WindowsSystem32driversetchosts I have

my primary domain still works perfectly but the virtual host I created keeps loading 403 error page I have checked the Apache error log and I found two instanses of
[Tue Dec 31 08:33:29 2013] [error] [client 198.0.65.217] script 'C:/Program Files (x86)/VertrigoServ/www/vhost/modules.php' not found or unable to stat, referer: URL....I have no clue where or why its reading a module.php file granted I do use Nuke Evolution on my primary site but the only page in the virual host folder is a index.html I have checked and double checked.
I tried installing MRTG in my Linux Server by using help from -
[url]
What i have done till now is -
cd /usr/local/src gunzip -c mrtg-2.16.2.tar.gz | tar xvf - cd mrtg-2.16.2
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mrtg-2
make
make install After this i am unable to understand what to do, and how to start MRTG graphs.
* the next last step says,
CONFIGURATION
The next step is to configure mrtg for monitoring a network device. This is done by creating an mrtg.cfg file which defines what you want to monitor. Luckily, you don't have to dive straight in and start writing your own configuration file all by yourself. Together with mrtg you also got a copy of cfgmaker. This is a script you can point at a router of your choice; it will create a mrtg configuration file for you. You can find the script in the bin subdirectory.
This example above will create an mrtg config file in /home/mrtg/cfg assuming this is a directory visible on your webserver. You can read all about cfgmaker in cfgmaker. One area you might want to look at is the possibility of using --ifref=ip to prevent interface renumbering troubles from catching you.
^^ this is what i am not able to understand.
When i ran the script, (below mention) it gave many errors, how to resolve them ?

I have customers that want the git program to be able to pull/push their github repos. I've copied all of the files in the git rpm into the site's chroot but whenever they try to pull down their repo via ssl they get this message:
error: while accessing https://github.com/USERNAME/PROJECT.git/info/refs
fatal: HTTP request failed
We have gotten ssh to work with git but the ssl issue still isn't working.
I was wondering if anyone can help me out or point me to a guide that will allow me to to create a Windows 2003 x64 Virtual MAchine using VMWare server on a CentOS or Redhat installation.
I have a shared hosting account on dreamhost It has php and others installed but it allows custom installations for a number of reasons (control of the php.ini file, ...).
I have shell and ftp access to /home/username/ where my websites are (/home/username/domain.ltd)
I installed php 5.2.9 under /home/username/php5, I also installed ffmpeg but I ran into troubles installing ffmpeg-php.
Now I would like to start over, I'm not very advanced in this and I probably messed some stuff up. It seemed like a good idea to ask for some general advice before going at it again.
First, I was wondering about the filesystem I needed to set up, like the bin, tmp, lib, ... directories. Which ones do I need and what should go in them. And how exactly do I let the system know these folders are there and it should look there for some commands. When I used phpize, it used the default one instead of the one in my custom php folder. Is the export command all there is to it?
When I install PHP, where should I install it and do I need to point it to my directories (bin, lib, etc...) instead of the ones in the host's root. I noticed when installing ffmpeg-php it still looked for the default ones at some points:
HTML Code: "checking for PHP includes... -I/usr/local/include/php -I/usr/local/include/php/main -I/usr/local/include/php/TSRM -I/usr/local/include/php/Zend..." I don't know if this is normal behaviour or not, I'm just basically writing everything I am unsure about.
I got my website to use the custom PHP by editting the htaccess file
Also, what would be the best approach to remove the things I currently installed, I suppose remove the php5 directory is not enough.
