How To Get BFD Or Antidos To Work On Ubuntu 5.10 / 6.06 --- Plesk 8?

Have been trying to get BFD and APF Antidos (not at same time) to work on Ubuntu 5.10 / Plesk and 6.06 (No Plesk yet) servers. APF appears to work fine after checking /sbin/iptables -L -n
Both cronjobs run but getting a lot of brute force attacks to ssh and Plesk but no offending IP's are being blocked and no e-mails reporting that they are being blocked. Log files for BFD and Antidos are always "0". Everything setup and configured the same as on my previous CentOS servers.
Can't find much on the net with this newer OS. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get one of these to work on the systems above? Thought it might be a path error referencing rc.d but put a symlink in for that and no change.

I have installed APF. I also activated AntiDos that is part of APF.
I have changed the following in the config file:

Here are my questions: what is going on? I understand that apache is getting flooded, but any way to adjust APF's antidos to block those attacks?
ANy better solution? Does AntiDos feature of APF really work?
I've read about mod_evasive addon. Shall I install it, too?
Will there be a conflict between APF's AntiDos and mod_evasive running together?
My users are tired of waiting for forum to load.

APF Antidos blacklisted a number of ips that seem to be okay to me
I have tried to delete them with /etc/apf/apf -l , /etc/apf/apf --unban xxx.xx..,
and even iptables --flush no avail ! Where does apf store its ip rules. I guess that is /etc/apf/.ipt.chains but not found ..
looks like there was no command line option allowing to remove IPs from apf backlist

way to create a VPN tunnel between two ubuntu servers?
Both will be in seperate datacentres but I'd like a secure tunnel so I can setup jobs to backup to one another.
This has to be done on the server level and cannot be done at the router/firewall as I do not have access to this kit.

I have upgraded php 5.5 using below steps,

Its also upgrading Apache from 2.2 to 2.4 and after installation, it break my Apache configuration and getting configuration errors when adding domains from Plesk etc.
Is there any proper way to upgrade PHP 5.5 in Plesk 12.0(Ubuntu 12.04)...

I just have started to setup a web-environment using Plesk 12 on Ubuntu 14.04LTS.
I have the following problem:
I have setup a service-plan that enables Apache ASP. When I try to create a webhosting using this service-plan I run into a message saying that the service-plan tries to ENABLE ASPs, but the available setting is DISABLED (only option) and the webhosting will be setup with ASP DISABLED (and the webhosting will be out of sync with the service-plan).
Trying to figure out the reason for this behaviour I checked the site_isolation_settings.ini (in /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/). In this file asp is set to on (no comment sign on start of the line).
Then I looked for the custom view settings for the power user view (which I am currently not using - I use the service provider view): In the hosting parameters ASP is ticked.
After that I checked the installed (and installable) features of Plesk; especially the Web-Hosting-Features. Surprisingly I noticed there is no option to install Apache ASP support!!!
Remark: I installed Ubuntu 14.04LTS Server in minimal configuration (SSH-Server configuration) directly after that I started the Plesk installation...(might this be the reason?)
How can I make Apache ASP work?

I see that Plesk 12 supports MySQL 5.6, but the server I am running is Ububtu 14.04 LTS and comes with 5.5.
I need to make 5.6 available but I can see no way of doing it without breaking Plesk (I already tried just installing it from command line with apt-get install and had to restore the whole server from backup!) - there is no option for MYSQL in Plesks updates & upgrades menu ...

I am trying to transfer Plesk 12.0.18#34 from an Ubuntu 12 server to an Ubuntu 14 server.
Using the transfer manager, I got these warnings:
The following Apache modules are not installed on the destination server: authz_default. Please install and enable these modules to prevent possible problems. The following Apache modules are disabled on the destination server: roxy_http,proxy_html,proxy,authz_groupfile,reqtimeout. Please enable these modules to prevent possible problems. The php_version 5.3 is not available on the destination server. Instead, Plesk will use the following version: 5.5. To use the same php_version as on the source server, you should turn on or install it on the destination server. 3 domain(s) will be affected.
I am a bit puzzled by the authz_default warning as it is not supported anymore on Apache 2.4.
If I override and launch the transfer, I get these errors:

Installing Plesk Panel with Spamassassin on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS gives a significant error:

a) differences in the name of the PIDFILE variable in /etc/default/spamassassin and /etc/init.d/spamassassin
b) directory and/or file location are not readable/writable
are not causing this specific installation bug. The work-arounds:
1 - not installing spamassassin (not an option)
2 - installing spamassassin and (afterwards)
change /etc/default/spamassassin, add the option "-4" to the line OPTIONS, resulting in the line: OPTIONS="--nouser-config -4 --username=popuser --daemonize --helper-home-dir=/var/qmail --virtual-config-dir=/var/qmail/mailnames/%d/%l/.spamassassin --create-prefs --max-children=5"
run plesk-installer or autoinstaller again ..Work-around 2 works fine, after reinstallation the /etc/default/spamassassin is as it should be (note that the added "-4" is not present anymore).
The before mentioned work-around suggests some error in the installation process, very likely to be an issue with the chronological order of installation of the various components. In theory, it can be excluded that this bug/issue is caused by psa-spamassassin and/or spamassassin (version 3.3.x) packages, even though some current spamassassin bugs are known: URL....I sincerely hope that Parallels Team can investigate and patch both of the bugs/issues.

I have an old laptop with the following specification: Memory: 485 MiB, Processor: Genuine intel CPU T2300 @ 1.66 GHz ×2, OS Type: 32 bit, Disk: 78.1 GB,
I installed on it Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and I noticed that the overall system is very slow in responding. I tried to search about that in the internet and I found some articles talking about how to make Ubuntu 12.04 LTS run fast I applied all what they said including download LXDE desktop environment and then nothing different in the system response time.
Then I need to develop some android applications so, I download Android Studio (Beta) 0.8.6. The problem became worse than before whenever I tried to open the Android Studio the screen is frozen for some minutes then it took time to download the projects and initialize the work space also, when I tried to move the cursor he is move very slowly. When I tried to run my first application on the AVD it took three hours and still not run yet.
I delete the Android Studio and install it again several times, I was trying to solve the problem but still nothing change.

We've had an issue where some of our Plesk installation was trashed. It's on a server which runs multiple live sites.
Most of the psa package no longer exists.
Is there a way to re-install Plesk without making it "think" that it's a new installation, thereby preserving all data?
Would apt-get install -f psa do it?

I had a HDD crash recently on my Root Server. Replaced HDDs, installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, since Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is not supported by Plesk yet. Anyway...
I had 2 issues:
1) Could not create Customers, because IP Pool was empty. Changed IP Type from Dedicated to Shared. Fixed issue.
2) Cannot connect to the FTP Server using the Login Data from one of my Domains.
FlashFXP and FileZilla both show the same error, which is:

on a fresh installation of Ubuntu (at first 14.04 but on 12.04 the same problem occurs) I installed Plesk via the autoinstaller. It seems to be all fine except I cannot open Plesk in the browser.
The web browser shows "502 Bad Gateway", a look into the error_log at "/var/log/plesk/sw-cp-server" shows the following error:

So the problem seems to be the sw-engine service that cannot be started.

I set up an virtual ubuntu Server on a Proxmox Root. I used the .iso from plesk.
Now when i tried to start installing magento, there is the message, that there is no mcrypt installed.
I installed it using php5-mcrypt its done and i can see the folders and also te mcrypt.so and so on.
When i tried to install atomic there is the message that redhead is not available at /etc/readhead...

Trying to get Plesk 9.2.3 (free - 1 domain) to talk to SmarterMail 6.5 (free) - it says "Error: Some fields are empty or contain an improper value." after setting it up on port 9998, username "admin" and the correct password.
I can access SmarterMail fine at [url]and [url]. SmarterMail is configured through IIS7, its in it's own application pool. Since im on 64bit, Mailservice.exe is configured to run as a 32bit service.
I downloaded SmarterMail Free edition, its installed under the Lite edition - according to here [url thats what SmarterTools recommends.

I set a new Plesk 12 server (Debian 7.8) and migrate some domains from a plesk 11.0.9 server.After this, FTP does not work. I can connect but I receive this error:
Error:The data connection could not be established: ETIMEDOUT - Connection attempt timed out..And no list of folder or files found. Not one domain, any domain.I restart xinetd and fil2ban but still same problem. Via control panel I can see the files but not via FTP.

I has Parallels Ples 11.X with Cent OS 6.5 and yesterday i tried to upgrade to PLESK 12.0.18.
Now, I can't start the apache module because it´s impossible to create the config file

For a Magento shop I want assign a dedicated IP to a domain. When I choose this second IP in “Subscriptions” --> Change Hosting Settings” and then select this IP under “Tools and Settings --> IP Addresses” as dedicated (or shared too) for this domain, calling the domain results in the Webserver´s default Plesk Page.
The Shopsite is not shown, but was working well with the shared standard IP.
Calling the IP directly with the browser shows the start page of the shop in raw HTML ( no CSS ).
Choosing a link results in a “Not found” page.

I'm running Ubuntu LTS 14 with Plesk 12 installed and I registered an domain name under subcriber/customer on my Plesk panel and I created a mail which was already registered under that name in the old server from which I removed the domain completely. I have installed Roundcube and Horde from Plesk installer, and at the avalaible webmail services are shown: Atmail,Roundcube and Horde all activated and avalaible. I try to choose one of them for the email but none of them works. When I try to access the webmail from the address: URL....it shows me default Plesk page. From the address: URL.... it says not found. The same for Horde and Atmail.
Its very weird because the same webmails services are working correctly under my main webspace with other domain: URL....I've tried changing something to the default plesk page from the file manager and it works so the domains seems to be connected with the server properly.

I have multiple domains on a single IP address and many require SSL Certificates.
I have enabled SNI in /etc/psa/psa.conf so it now says "SNI_SUPPORT true" as it was originally set to False. Setting this to TRUE then enabled the SSL option in 'Websites & Domains'.
I then purchased and installed the SSL Cert and activated it in the domain settings. On a dedicated IP address, this would work.
When I checked the certificate. it was not using the assigned SSL cert, instead it was using the Servers default certificate (plesk) that is assigned to the shared IP address.
When I check, I get the error message: "[warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `plesk' does NOT match server name"
I then rebooted the server and it made no difference. I changed the domain to a spare dedicated IP address, and the SSL Cert was certified correctly (it used the correct SSL Cert). When I changed it back to the shared IP address, it reverted back to the shared IP address' SSL cert. So the new SSL Cert was being ignored.
For info: currently running 11.0.9 on Centos 5 and I'm testing this with latest IE, FF, Chrome so it accepts TLS Server Name Indication.

I tried to use the software x2engine, but the software seems not to work.Furtheremore I tried the following softwares:

the attached screenshots appear when I load the pages! I used to just rent a webspace from a hoster and have my domains there, but now I decided to move to a VPS Server but as you see I can not get this stuff to work!

I installed Roundcube in Plesk 12 through the link: URL....But it doesn't work. I adjusted the mailsettings for a domain to use Roundcube. With the fresh created emailaccount and you click on the webmailicon, it loads the following url but the page does not exists: URL....Aren't there any instructions for using RoundCube with Plesk? After adding Roundcube as an component are there more steps involved to get Roundcube up and running with plesk?

I've got a Plesk 12 server with the "Slave DNS Manager" extension installed.I've also got a CentOS 7 server that I would like to set up as a slave DNS server.I've installed BIND on the slave server and opened ports 53 and 953.I've followed the instructions on this page but I can't seem to get a link between the two servers: URL....

I can't install or remove anything. when i click on continue it's just refreshes the page and come backs to the list.
I have checked error log and the latest error log is ERR [panel] Specified column "isAllowed1 is not in the row.
And i don't think this error related to the problem. When I click on continue it does not create any line in the error log.
