View 4 RepliesI have a dedicated server, and I need to migrate a client who has with me an account with Cpanel and add on domains, and now is upgrading his account to one of my resellers accounts plans.
It has now assigned 2 dns:
ns1.maindomain.com.mx IP--> xxx.xx.x.65
ns2.maindomain.com.mx IP--> xxx.xx.x.66
and he does not want to use this dns's anymore, so, he registered a new domain otherdomain.com to have new dns's
I already create the dns zones for that domain and assigned 2 more IP's:
ns1.otherdomain.com --> xxx.xx.xx.17
ns2.otherdomain.com --> xxx.xx.xx.18
(both different from the first ones)
The problem I have is how to separate accounts from the Cpanel add on domains and assigned them individually to a WHM, for my client to create packages and manage his own reseller accounts, without loosing any information at all.
I know that he already has a WHM with the maindomain.com.mx as his main account, but when he signs in to the actual WHM, he see just one account maindomain.com.mx
So, can you tell me how to migrate all the Cpanel add on domains to the new otherdomain.com reseller account (is already created also) with its own Cpanel each one of the 15 domains he has.
Details of my dedicated server:
WHM 11.15.0 cPanel 11.18.3-R21703
CENTOS Enterprise 5 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0
Apache 2.0.63
PHP Version: 5.2.5
What is an alternative to help reduce the massive amounts of cpu resources a CPanel Backup Wizard causes when doing generating a full backup?
View 9 Replies View RelatedNew to Plesk in general so I don't know for sure if the "Register Domain Names" feature is part of our 'Web Pro Edition' or comes by default.
Also, is the domain registration option showing up because when installing Plesk I enabled the "Enable access to premium commercial apps"?
So my question is, can we still set it up so users have access to install applications (free and commercial), but disable the domain registration option?
i wanna disable the backup from cpanel for one user only
how i can do that?
i wont him take full backup from the cpanle.
I want to know lighthttpd works on what different kind of control panels
I am aware it works on lxAdmin, I want to maximize the options for more control panels which would be flawless
Whenever clients are generating full back up of their sites all at once and like 10x in one hour, its causing a severe spike in load in the servers
is there a way to disable the full backup in cPanel?
I know mellowhost is able to do this
I also saw this when i was searching google --

Additionally, you could just give server administrators the option of disabling
the gzipping of these user generated backups
I believe the gzip process is what usually kills the server when dealing with a
large site. Just tarring up the account would use more disk space, but would
keep processing and load usage down
I don't know how to do that though.
Also I use the Backup function in WHM to generate weekly backups of all my customers sites and FTPing to a remote server. I still want that function. I only want the generation of full backup in control panel be disabled.
Is there any way to disable backup option for a reseller's accounts.
Please don't ask why I want this, there is lot of reasons for this.
I am having a site developed that will have a "front end" - ie the actual website with a login members area etc. The "back end" will be a set of scripts that work behind the scenes, including a bot that visits other sites and passes info to those sites.
The concern I have is, if I put the whole lot on one Cpanel, and then it gets whacked by a surge of traffic etc, the "back end" will crash as well.
My question is, would it be better to host the site itself on one cpanel account, but store the Db and the back end scripts on another cpanel, both on the same server. Then even if the site cpanel maxes out or crashes, the processes will continue to run? The site itself would also need to access the Db stored on the second cpanel.
Is there a way you can just disable the Generate Full Backup link in the Backup section of CPanel, and not disable the Backup section completely?
Meaning, I just want to disable that one function a client has the ability to do, but I don't want to stop them from being able to download their home directory, mysql databases, etc.
Just wondering how I can disable the backup function in my customers cpanel. I do not want them to have the ability to backup, as it takes up a lot of space. Is it in the WHM backup section? Not sure which option it correlates to.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a couple questions maybe some of you can help me with -
I have a dedicated server and many hosted customers, I want to setup SSL for IMAP email and their cpanels.
Instead of purchasing individual SSL certificates for each domain. I was thinking to just use my hostanme (eg host.myhostname.net) and direct them to that as I have seen the option in WHM.
My question is can I use an SSL cert for email that will act as a "fleetwide" SSL cert?
For example instead of using mail.theirdomain.com could I just use mail.myhostname.com and would it give them SSL without warnings? Of course they would set their email client to mail.myhostname.com..
Is it safe or recommend to use your hostname? I read somewhere to never use your hostname as a domain.. so not sure.
I have migrated User from Confixx 3.3.9 to Plesk and now it works fine.
In the Subscriptions i have disable the Feature Backup for the Costumers, but it dosent take an effect.
So i Turn it on and off again. But there was also no effect.
I have a question
When I login to cpanel as reseller, I see all accounts from drop down menu.
Q1: If I do full backup from reseller's cpanel, will it backup all accounts that I see from drop down menu? Or should I login each account to backup one by one?
Q2: If I can backup all by backing up reseller's cpanel, can I restore all accounts by restoring reseller's cpanel from new server?
How running full backup all accounts in SSH?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to back-up accounts managed by cPanel/WebHostManager to a remote server. I want to be able to restore to any of the last 7 days. I believe doing an incremental back-up each night can accomplish this best, saving both bandwidth and disk space on the remote server.
Using the back-up functionality built into WHM is appealing because WHM knows what files need to be backed up to do a full restore. However, WHM can't do exactly what I'm looking for either. I've been looking into using rsync as described in this document:
[url]
It looks becaue of the "hard link" capabilities of linux, rsync can be used to create what functions like a full back-up every night but requires a full backup the first day and then each day after that only the incremental changes have to be transfered. However, because I don't know what directories need to be backed up, I'm not sure how to implement an rsyc solution either. (BTW, I want to back-up everything necessary to be able to restore each account except the log files. So, that means MySQL, mail, config info, and whatever the user has uploaded)
I wan to take backup of all accounts on weekly basis. Client should see weekly backup in his backup manager list.
How take backup of each account individuality.
Anybody know the best place to get a really cheap server with at least 250GB drives? I'm assuming most providers offer HDD's of that size on relatively cheap systems now if we're just looking at SATA.
The machine doesn't need to be anything special, I don't need a ton of bandwidth.
Basically this will be an extra backup machine to pull backups from servers instead of my usual "pushing" of backup data.
So to clarify, I'm looking for a simple machine pretty much anywhere with some drive space! VPS just won't cut it because the drivespace they provide is too expensive (yes, I understand they have nice drive setups though).
RAID etc is not needed, I'm not running anything mission critical but would like to have more locations in place to hold backups for me. WHT worries me alot
i have a msi server with three seagate HD,
and use seagate ST336607LC to do raid5.
the raid card is adaptec 2200S,
it is installed with centos with cpanel.
today, the websites shows 500 internal error and i asked the DC reboot,
minutes later,the websites run well.
but minutes later,it down again, and i ssh to reboot,
minutes,it shows file system problem,it seems readonly?...in my memory.
and i ask the DC to reboot again,
and i still can not login, and the DC staff tell me it shows with "operation system not found"...
and i go to DC,
it shows there is no logical drives... and operation system not found.
and i try to use ctrl+a to access raid control panel,
it shows there is no raid setting....
and i try to verify the hds in raid control panel,
it shows my 3rd hd has defect and ask if want to assign new block,
at begining,i chose no,it still can not load the os.
and then i chose yes to reassign the block and passing the verify,
but it still can not load the os.
i can not get any ST336607LC now,
i want to ask can i use larger HD to replace the 3rd hd?
if yes,after replacing and booting,
should i reset the raid configuation?
I have a VPS and about 140 accounts on it. I've also got cPanel and WHM installed. I'm moving to a new host, but the thought of having to move all these accounts manually really makes me lazy I have to go into each account and go to backup -> backup to remote FTP, and yeah..
Is there any way I can mass backup all of my accounts, or all accounts I select, to a specified FTP server?
I only have root access on my VPS, but not on the server I'm moving all the backups to..
