On certain days web server starts taking both weekly and daily backups.
Is there anyway I can arrange such that when there is a day for weekly backup, it doesn't take daily backup.

Feb 6, 2008Cpanel weekly and monthly backups are not exactly an state of the art scripts. Daily backups would be just ok, on the low range of quality, but ok. However when talking about the monthly or weekly copies the rsync process raises so much the load on the server that it is just a waste of time and resources.
I do not want to sacrify any of both backups. However I would like to know if anybody has found an alternate script to manage cPanel backups and substitute cPanel's build in script. Even better, something that does incremental over the month start and we can have daily for all days of the month, not just last friday or last month.
Plesk 12.x / Windows :: Cannot Configure FTP Repository
Jun 17, 2015am trying to configure the repository to go the my FTP server at the home office. The home office is running Cerberus FTP server. From the remote server i can log into FTP from the command line and use WinSCP to login using sftp with no problem. When i try going through the repository page it just hangs. I have tried the passiv option as well. Is seems to hang at the LIST -a command. Here is the cerberus log below.

Weekly Offsite CPanel Backup Process Crashing Apache/bind
Mar 19, 2007Right now I am using the built-in cpanel backup feature to backup all the accounts on my server to an offsite FTP backup account I have on a weekly basis. The problem I am having is that everytime the backup runs, the load (thats what I'm guessing is the cause) is crashing apache/bind, causing sites to be unreachable until I can restart the services. What options do I have to resolve this issue? Currently I already have spri installed, and it does help out a bit, but its still not enough.

PROBLEM:
With reports configured to send out to an email address local on the Windows server configured through PLESK, if local relay isn't enabled at 127.0.0.1 on the SmarterMail server, the reports are never delivered.
- server is [domainx].com
- email to receive reports from PLESK is plesk444@[domainx].com
-this email address is able to send and receive internally or externally to and from any client w/ SMTP auth enabled.
If SmarterMail is configured with SMTP Authentication Bypass for 127.0.0.1, we get the scheduled report emails as we should. Without the SMTP Authentication Bypass enabled, none of the clients or administrators get any reports or notifications at all.
QUESTION: How can I configure PLESK Panel 11 itself to use that SMTP Authentication to send those reports out?
--is there a configuration file or registry value I can add or modify?

Aug 15, 2013I will wanted to know if hmailserver lets configure the quantity of outgoing emails it is permitted in an hour or minutes. I have found this:
hMailServer is pre-configured to have high security when it comes to relaying and authentication so that no one can use your server to send spam messages.
But I do not know if It refers to what I want or to an antihack or something like that to protect my server.

Oct 11, 2013I have 11.5.30 and no new FTP accounts work. All I get when trying to connect is 530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible. I have run the command:

epair.exe" --reconfigure-ftp-site -webspace-name site.co.uk
removed and added the user again repairing in between. I have manually tried creating the user folder under default/6/localuser/username and setting permissions. I have checked the local windows account and the home directory is fine.
All old accounts create previously work fine. I could at least connect on the master FTP site with the local user folder but then it was read only.

Jul 23, 2013I have a scheduled backup set on my panel, to backup all server configuration and content, and is set to run every week. I also set to keep only 1 backup on repository, but this config doesn't seem to work! My hard drive is getting full all the time, and when I check that its because theres a lot of old backups stored that are not getting removed!
My question is: the backup script removes the old files only at the end or it does it while backing up? If the action of removal happens only at the end of the script, i think it would explain why it isn't working: my hard drive gets full before, and the script drops an error, and never get to the end of it and it doesn't remove the old backups.

Oct 29, 2014Is there a way to run an additional task after the scheduled backup has completed?I want to copy the backup off-site. I can't use FTP, otherwise I'd use the built-in 'Personal FTP Repository' feature. (See Rsync, Amazon S3, Rackspace cloud files, etc)
I could just create a new scheduled task, but the backup takes an unpredictable amount of time, and the tasks need to run sequentially. Also, the 2nd task should only run if the backup succeeds.
I could disable the backups in the control panel and create a new scheduled task that does both the backup and the additional task. But then the functionality of the control panel's Backup Manager page is lost.

Dec 23, 2012The problem is a bug in one domain (the principal) for which a backup job unfinished blocking the domain. Unable to unlock the domain and indicated (in version 10.4.4) I had a backup job unfinished. Restarting the server did not solve anything.
We upgraded to plesk 11 and this is the error that now comes in all requests for backup, to click on "Admin Backup":
