Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Disable Or Edit Domain Registration Feature?
Apr 2, 2015
New to Plesk in general so I don't know for sure if the "Register Domain Names" feature is part of our 'Web Pro Edition' or comes by default.
Also, is the domain registration option showing up because when installing Plesk I enabled the "Enable access to premium commercial apps"?
So my question is, can we still set it up so users have access to install applications (free and commercial), but disable the domain registration option?
I have a Plesk 12 server running under Debian 7. I have a website with only mail so I disable web hosting. The problem is that the client needs to use webmail but webmail does not work (maybe because web hosting is disabled)...
I have several domains configured in my Plesk, and one of them is set as the "Detault site" under Home >> Tools & Setings > IP address management. This has the unpleasant side effect that any domain I point to this IP renders content from the Default site unless it's setup. How can I configure the default site to render content from only one domain?
I recently purchased a dedicated server with Godaddy, I also registered a domain with same Godaddy.
Now when I tried to add a new domain in plesk, I got a warning message that "the domain is pointed to 192.198.XX.XX" which is different from my dedicated server IP. The message also says I should edit the DNS.
Now my question is What do I need to edit from the default dns plesk has assigned to my domain? Do I need to use the domain's default IP. I want to be able to host multiple website on my server...
There is a strange problem with the new feature fail2ban. I have noticed that a local ip address (ip address from the webserver itself) was added to the blocked ip addresses of fail2ban now for the second time. What I can see is that it was the recidive jail.
If there is nginx used as reverse proxy you get a "502 Bad Gateway". Any way to find out more about the reason why an ip address is added to the list of blocked ip addresses in fail2ban?
I was creating an Plesk extension and I need to edit root's crontab for the extension to work properly. While doing some experiment I understand that the Plesk extension works with the permission of psaadm . So I cannot use shell_exec to do this. Is there any api or cli interface where I will be able to do this. Is there any possibility to override the restriction of psaadm user through extension.
When this url: blackfive.net is requested the Network Solutions banner is shown. When the www is used, as in: www.blackfive.net the site is provided. Can anyone explain to me why and how this could happen?
I just ordered a dedicated server from FDC.Now I want to register a domain from GoDaddy.
It asks for two DNS name. Normally it should be something like ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com. But the thing is, I don't even have a domain, how can I provide DNS like ns1.yourdomain.com? What I have now are two dediced IPs for future DNS, but GoDaddy won't accept IPs as DNS. Does this sound like egg first or chicken first delima?
can I use FDC DNS instead of mine own to register a domain from GoDaddy.
I was wondering what you people do when a new customer registers a new domain (only domain) and then parks in on your server. Now I manually park it on top of parked.myhost.com so that everybody who visits this domain will see the custom "Hosted with"-page. But there has to be an easier way/automatic way to do this? So please, share your knowledge
How do we disable email on the domain entirely? The client is hosting email externally - the offered spam filtering is wholely inadequate and we're seeing a few of these happening - to the point I'm considering offering externally hosted email plans anyway - but back to the problem - I need to delete the mailboxes and then disable mail - and then remove the DNS records for webmail etc - but can't seem to find how to turn off locally hosted email for a domain.
Nginx is listening on port 7080 with ipv6 protocol only.ipv6 isn't use on the server (ipv4 only). If I disable ipv6 support on the server, is this stopping nginx to use ipv6 ? (and some other process)How can I disable IPv6 on Plesk 12 ?
# ll /opt/psa/var/modules/firewall/active.flag ls: cannot access /opt/psa/var/modules/firewall/active.flag: No such file or directory
# /etc/init.d/psa-firewall start psa-firewall: service is disabled
You then have to manually "touch" the active.flag to be able to start the firewall again. A workaround is to remove the line:
Code: sed -i 's:rm -f /opt/psa/var/modules/firewall/active.flag::' /opt/psa/var/modules/firewall/firewall-emergency.sh'
I really hope that Parallels fixes this asap, as normally you won't notice that the firewall is not active when every works fine (nothing is blocked) and Plesk still shows all the rules.
I would like my clients only to be able to access Plesk Panels from a certain domain, instead all from or with all the domains hosted on our server, is there a way to accomplish that?
I recently upgraded phones and forgot that my google authenticator keys were on my old phone. I am now unable to log in to the Plesk admin panel. I of course still have SSH access. How can I disable the Google Authenticator so I can regain access?
The premium antivirus when enabled it automatically sends notifications to both sender and server admin. I wish to disable the the notification to the sender and also only send a summary email weekly to the admin.
I need to disable apache access logs. I commented out the access log path in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and restarted the server but it's still logging access.
Sometimes my clients install untrusted scripts to their account what causes spamming, because these scripts sending high number of spam emails. Is there an automatically way to disable php mail function, or disable the account temporary?
