Is there any way to disable backup option for a reseller's accounts.

Whenever clients are generating full back up of their sites all at once and like 10x in one hour, its causing a severe spike in load in the servers
is there a way to disable the full backup in cPanel?
I know mellowhost is able to do this
I also saw this when i was searching google --

Additionally, you could just give server administrators the option of disabling
the gzipping of these user generated backups
I believe the gzip process is what usually kills the server when dealing with a
large site. Just tarring up the account would use more disk space, but would
keep processing and load usage down
I don't know how to do that though.
Also I use the Backup function in WHM to generate weekly backups of all my customers sites and FTPing to a remote server. I still want that function. I only want the generation of full backup in control panel be disabled.
Is there a way you can just disable the Generate Full Backup link in the Backup section of CPanel, and not disable the Backup section completely?
Meaning, I just want to disable that one function a client has the ability to do, but I don't want to stop them from being able to download their home directory, mysql databases, etc.
Just wondering how I can disable the backup function in my customers cpanel. I do not want them to have the ability to backup, as it takes up a lot of space. Is it in the WHM backup section? Not sure which option it correlates to.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have bought a Master Reseller recently.
I have some technical question in my mind regarding backup.
I will start step by step.
1) I login to the WHM.
2) I click to WHMreseller Master Resellers placed on the bottom of the left menu.
3) There I saw some options at the bottom , 'Migrate' , 'Backup' ,'Change Owner', 'IP Delegation'
4) I clicked on 'Backup'.
5) There I saw two check boxes:
Enable Weekly Automated FTP Backups
Enable Weekly Automated Local Backups (will only run if cpbackups are disabled by root)
My questions are very simple:
Q1) What these two check boxes mean ?
Q2) If i check 'Enable Weekly Automated FTP Backups' and save these settings then every week , back of my all cpanels including cpanels of reseller will be generated or wht?
I have a repository backup that I want to partially restore. I see the option "Selected Objects" but it cannot be selected. I'm wondering why that is not an option? I'm also wondering what "restore this backup despite the fact that it does not have a valid signature" means. I see a check box. Is Plesk telling me my backup doesn't have a valid signature? What is the meaning of a "signature"?

if I should continue paying an extra $25 per month for Cpanel. Is it that hard to do without it? All I really do with Cpanel is configure Spamassassin, setup emails, and backups.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'd like to back one of our servers up using S3 but I'm not sure the best way to go. Server is using CPanel. Obviously I want to keep costs down.
I need the files to be secure, backups need to be nightly incremental, and I need to be able to restore to another CPanel server fast in case of hardware failure. CPanel supports FTP for backups. I currently back up to another server, but I want to move to the cloud.
Specific questions I have:
1. Any recommendations on a cloud backup service (S3, Rackspace, etc?), and why?
2. Any recommendations on tools? I want this to be simple to set up. As easy as setting up an FTP account.
3. Is there another option I should consider? That server has about 62GB of data on it to be backed up.
Anyone know how much is true stats that we get in "main" server cPanel in menu:
Main >> Account Information >> View Bandwidth Usage
Is that correct data or? and can be difference of 500Gig?
I get bill for 500gig over, than stat in cPanel?
Is it possible that stats in cPanel dont say correct data? and to be that much difference?
