How Can I Open Up Port 3303 To Enable External Connection?
Dec 18, 2008I want to connect to my mysql server from an external server. How can I open up port 3303 to enable external connection?
I am using Plesk on virtuozzo, with AFP.

i allowed 20 and 21 port in "CSF" firewall
now when i or our client connect to the server connection done.
and the they fire dir or ls command they will receive error

what is the problem.i have already allowed passive port 2500:3500 then why i received this types of error

Mar 4, 2007I am managing a server and just learning how to do everything. It is a linux server running WHM/Cpanel. I need web scripts on this server to be able to connect to external SMTP servers. Therefore I need to open up port 25 (if it is not already).
How do I open ports on my server? Hopefully by using WHM/Cpanel (I am not too familiar with using the command line).
Port 5190 Open
Jul 18, 2007I have a VPS running CentOS 4.4 which I have just been securing. It is running apache on port 80, BIND on port 53 and ssh on an atypical port. However, when I do a portscan with nmap I find that port 5190/tcp is open. There is no daemon listening on the port (I think it is for AIM?) and in any case iptables should refuse any connection on this port. Should I worry about this or is the port pretty safe to leave open?

Jun 13, 2007Due to some circumstances out of my control, I've had to move from postfix to qmail. In postfix, I simply edited master.cf and added a new line to open it up on port 26 and 25 at the same time. In qmail it's not that easy. I followed the instructions at http://www.daniweb.com/forums/post256079-2.html and it worked, but it takes about 15 seconds for thunderbird send the mail (it sits there saying 'connected to mail.domain.com)
Is there a better way of opening qmail on 26 or forwarding requests for 26 to 25?

Jan 7, 2015We are trying to use a configure settings for an external SMTP server within Plesk (Windows 2008 R2 Plesk 12) but are receiving the following error message:
Error: Unable to encode IDN email address 'username': email address is invalid
We are trying to use a username for SMTP authentication as we do not have the option of using an email address with our current SMTP relay provider.
Is there any way around this so that we can use a username rather than an email address?

After I applied the patch getting error below when i try to send email via horde webmail:
There was an error sending your message: Could not open secure TLS connection to the server.
Roundcube can send mails well but horde not. Otherwise since applied the parch i can't get mails from gmail and maybe other providers i don't know yet.
Strange Port Connection
Dec 28, 2007I’m running RHEL 3, Apache and Cpanel. When I ran: "netstat –an" I found this in the results:
tcp 0 0 11.11.111.229:49158 11.11.111.229:80 ESTABLISHED
tcp 0 0 11.11.111.229:49578 11.11.111.229:80 ESTABLISHED
If I’m reading this right these two unprivileged ports are open and talking to my privileged http port 80. Does this seem right? Why would these two ports on my machine have a connection. All this attention was sparked by abnormal spikes in load. Now I’m getting paranoid that something may be off even though I’m clean when scanning for rootkits etc…

That makes this website open to public as office has static IP. And then when I view the site from home . it's fine. But when I tried to login, the site is using a pop-up, I guess it's http authentciation, login, I was redirected to a url without my port number any more, that stops my access to the site as obviously I would.
