Forward A Domain (incl. Subdirectories/subdomains) To The Same URL

Forwarding a domain (incl. subdirectories/subdomains) to the same URL
I'm looking for a provider which can offer a service similar to mydomain.com, I should be able to add an unlimited number of domains to forward on external urls in a way which should point anything-you-digit.myname.com and myname.com/anything-you-digit to the same destination url
If the service might also allow to add title, keywords and description for each domain, this would be even better but not required.
MyDomain can offer all this but there's a fee for each added domain while we'd prefer paying a monthly fee for a single hosting where adding multiple domains.
OK, I am confused. I have one domain that is parked on top of another domain. I would like Mail that comes to the parked domain to be automatically forwarded to the same user name at the primary domain.
Can I change a DNS or MX record to facilitate this?
I'm totally new at the dedicated server thing. I want to point a domain (mintylabs.com) to my server IP making it possible to have my own custom dns (e.g. ns1.mintylabs.com).
I have a domain setup on my Plesk 8.6.0 powered webserver which is being forwarded to a specific IP provided by my costumer, all DNS zone records are inserted accordingly and everything works fine.
Due to a problem with the ISP that provides the fixed IP on my costumer’s server he now wants to get a second IP from a different ISP, for the same webserver, to function as a secondary route onto his server .....
i have a domain hosted at eNom which i would like to point to my FTP server which is running on my box at home. I have a static IP, and BulletProof FTP server installed. Now im just unclear how i can have www.mydomain.com point to 212.12.34.56:21.
I have a yahoo domain and I plan to move it to a new host. i know it may take 24-48 hours for the new DNS to propagate.
my question is. Is it possible to forward my domain while DNS is being propagated? So my user will be taken to another website while dns is propagated.
I have access to domain forwarding as well as DNS change through my yahoo domain control panel Thank you to all.
For example, if I forward my business domain abcproducts.com to my domain where I have my hosting, myname.com, is it possible for people to see where my business domain is forwarding to. Basically, I am doing a business website, but I don't want anyone to be able to see that it actually is forwarding to a folder on my main myname.com where I have my hosting. I am masking it, so it will only show abcproducts.com, but I am wondering if even the "tech saavy" has tools to figure this out. I just don't want anyone to be able to see this.
Like, I know how sites like DNSreport.com show all kinds of stuff on the domain. Is there something like this that people can use to see if domains forward?
- foo.com, with a mail account info@foo.com. - bar.com, with domain forwarding to foo.com.
Sending an email message to info@foo.com works.
Sending an email message to info@bar.com doesn't work. When using the ZoneEdit SMTP test utility I get the following error message:
Code: > RCPT TO:<info@bar.com> < 550 5.1.1 User unknown: info@bar.com I checked "/etc/vdomainaliases/bar.com" and "/etc/localdomains", they are configured properly.
I need a company to register my domain, and then forward emails and urls to my actual site that is somewhere else. I don't need any actual web hosting or email pop (at the moment). My main requirement is reliability.
The company I currently use bounces some email to me and forwards other email to a black hole. They're also not replying to my mail, so it's time to leave. BTW, this is a company that has generally excellent reviews.
After a recent migration from 11.5 (CentOS 6.5) to 12 (CentOS 6.5) my forwards no longer work.
I have removed the domain. Created a new domain and set forwarding up. Just goes to a plesk page.
I then ran /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng --reconfigure-domain domain.tld on it and it still does not work. I then went through each forward on the sever and none of them work.
I currently have shared hosting, but am getting VPS with another company. I'd like to keep my domains on my original hosting and direct the domains to the new server. I've been reading and it doesn't seem that hard to change for a regular domain. The problem is I don't seem to understand how to do the same for a subdomain. I keep reading about the A record and CNAME, but just don't get it.
Does anyone have any experience with this. Do I just put the IP address for the new server in the A record? I just want to make sure I know what's going on before I order my new hosting and find out it's not possible or something.
I'm also curious if mail, like myname@mydomain.com will continue to work. Or is there something I need to change for this as well.
I am about to create a domain for my shoutcast hosting service.
Now, I am getting a dedicated server just to host the shoutcasts accounts, and keep on using my actual web hosting company for the new domain website and email support.
Also I would like the shoutcast clients IP account to be:
server1.mydomain.com
So I need to create this subdomain in my shoutcast dedicated server?
And what Name Servers should I use for my domain?
I wonder, cos to be able to make the website and email I need to give the DNS of my web hosting company, but if I dont use the DNS of the Shoutcast Dedicated Server, would my clients be able to login to their account?
For many years Linux has not included a kernel debugger. Linus Torvalds vetoed them for years, for reasons that he explained quite well in a known email: "When things crash and you fsck and you didn't even get a clue about what went wrong, you get frustrated. Tough. There are two kinds of reactions to that: you start being careful, or you start whining about a kernel debugger [...] I happen to believe that not having a kernel debugger forces people to think about their problem on a different level than with a debugger. I think that without a debugger, you don't get into that mindset where you know how it behaves, and then you fix it from there. Without a debugger, you tend to think about problems another way. You want to understand things on a different _level_."
Despite of those objections, many people wanted a debugger and KGDB is finally going in. It's a remote debugger, it needs two machines. x86 and sparc machines are supported
Im wondering is it time to update to the latet kernel version?
Currently have Kernel Version 2.6.18-92.1.1.el5 (SMP)
When trying to make a subdomain on my main cpanel domain, through cpanel, it acts like it is making it, and adds the dns entry, but it does not work. All other domains work fine.
I submitted a ticket to buycpanel, they asked for the login information this morning, and have not heard back from them. This has happened every since they installed cpanel.
I am hoping its something simple that one of you knowledgeable people may know how to fix.
I have 1 main domain, I have hundreds of subdomains, and want to host the subdomains across multiple servers with cPanel. What's the best option for executing this?
URL....We are running Plesk 12 on a Linux VPS where we have multiple domains running.Multiple of these domains should redirect from www. domain name. ext to https://ext.domainname.com.This is configured with the Domain forwarding in Plesk, with hosting type Forwarding. But as described in the 2 links provided above, whenever you go to https://www.domain.ext, it does not redirect, and actually shows a Security error, since the domain doesn't have the SSL-certificate installed (because it should redirect to the https://ext.domainname.com).
Clearly we don't want visitors on the website to receive the (incorrect) Security error, and we want all traffic to http(s)://www.domain.ext to be redirected to the appropriate subdomains. allows us to redirect both the https/http connections to the domains, without forcing us to have the domains have a Website hosting add redirect them manually with (for example) .htaccess.
Lets say I have abcd.com as the main domain on cpanel. abcd.com has 10 subdomains.
Basically what I want to do is when I do an addon domain or parked domain I want the subdomains to basically point to abcd.com automatically. Let's say the addon/parked
domain is 1234.com For example I have sub.abcd.com as the main subdomain
so when I type in sub.1234.com I want it pointed to sub.abcd.com internally meaning the script/files from there however in the browser show as if it were sub.1234.com
Whenever I try to create a user account I get the following error
Sorry, resellers are not permitted to create subdomains of the server's main domain
My server domain is www.domain.com and reseller is trying to create a user account like new.domain.com . It was working fine a few weeks back but I think since I upgraded the cpanel and whm, it doesnt allow creation of accounts anymore.
Could someone help me to fix this error please?
I own the VPS and the reseller and all other accounts.
Up until a week ago we had some troubles with package dependencies on our dedicated server running on Ubuntu 14.04.1. Plesk was totally out of reach, displaying 502 Bad Gateway pages and some other weird error on login_up.php3.
I fixed the dependencies by removing a lot of packages (including Plesk) and finally managed to reinstall Plesk using the autoinstaller, then repaired it using "/usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp12.0.18-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh" (IIRC this whole bootstrapper folder was not present before reinstallation).
Now, after restoring our data from a backup pretty much everything works except for the subdomains. They all redirect to the primary domain's vhost (307 Redirect) for some reason.
"/var/log/apache2/access.log" shows the following after issuing a HTTP request to any subdomain:
I have tried enabling and disabling nginx, it did not work. Then I just kept it disabled because it makes our forum think that everyone has the server's IP (because of the reverse proxy thing I assume).
Oh, and I should say: using HTTPS anywhere just gets me a 502 Bad Gateway error.
I am currently with a smaller US-provider where I am running a dedicated gentoo server with a dozen domains (all small stuff, mostly sme/private websites) and 2 dozen email accounts.
The nice thing about the current provider is that he lets me run sub-accounts where the holders of those accounts have their own billing. I let them run a domain/website on my server since its no extra cost for them, but they pay for the domain and extra email space for example w/o me having to care for it. They basically offer a minimum package and add every single thing on top of it, which I like since I do not need any webpage builders, templates whatever else. I rather only pay what I take.
Basically I am happy except for the connection speed, specially for the email. I am in Asia and other people using this server from Europe, and the time it takes to connect, up/download data to the server and to download larger emails is simply out of the normal.
any recommendations there? I am currently paying 75 USD/Mo + domain names. I think this is also a bit on the high side given that the server hardware is a bit out of date by now.
I am looking at the minimum to relocate only the email hosting to some faster service, which would have to have a reasonable storage size (>= gmail) with POP/IMAP access and of course to use my own domain names.
I have a VPS with CentOS5 and CPanel...for some reason if I went to that URL it would show the website for the second account created in WHM...so I modified the httpd.conf and added the domain, but for some reason subdirectories won't work on it.
I've set up the affiliate manager from jrox.com for a client of mine. This includes the setup of wildcard DNS so that each affiliate can have username.clientssite.com and have it count their clicks - which works properly.
What isn't working properly is that he also has forums.hissite.com, which is loading the main website page instead of his forums. He is using cpanel to add the subdomain, and it isn't failing, so I'm not sure what's going on with it.
User residual Group residual CustomLog /usr/local/apache/domlogs/forums.residualvictory.com combined ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/residual/public_html/forums/cgi-bin/ </VirtualHost>
And the bind file for his domain

I am running Apache2 server (version 2.2.16) on Debian Linux.
My document root for directory listings is set and in that folder I have a few other files to configure the formatting and visual effects. These are:
images(folder) sorttable.js style.css index.php
These files make the root directory look very nice. If I navigate in to a subdirectory, all of the formatting and visual effects are lost and the standard text layout is shown. Is there a way I can get ALL subdirectories in the root directory to take on the visual and layout effects from the root directory?
I know it works if I manually copy each of the files to each of the subdirectories which would be fine, but the subdirectories are created dynamically and new ones are added regularly.
I have some instructions written in the .htaccess of root directory for my website. So how to force those rules to apply to all sub directories even if those sub directories have .htaccess that overwrite the rules of the mother .htaccess on the root directory ? For example the root .htaccess deny access to all *.log files, so how to force that rule even if in some subdirectories there is some .htaccess files that allow access of *.log files.
let's say I'm part of a LAN and i get my public IP through a PPPoE but i also have a wireless router and another station on which I wish to have linux. On that linux machine I will have anther public IP which is not from the same class.
What to do in order to world wide see my server machine(the one with linux and IP not from the same class)
