Cpanel AddOn Domains With Subdomains Automatically From Main Domain
Lets say I have abcd.com as the main domain on cpanel. abcd.com has 10 subdomains.
Basically what I want to do is when I do an addon domain or parked domain I want the subdomains to basically point to abcd.com automatically. Let's say the addon/parked
domain is 1234.com
For example I have
sub.abcd.com as the main subdomain
so when I type in sub.1234.com I want it pointed to sub.abcd.com internally meaning the script/files from there however in the browser show as if it were sub.1234.com

Cpanel Main Domain Not Allowing Subdomains
When trying to make a subdomain on my main cpanel domain, through cpanel, it acts like it is making it, and adds the dns entry, but it does not work. All other domains work fine. I submitted a ticket to buycpanel, they asked for the login information this morning, and have not heard back from them. This has happened every since they installed cpanel. I am hoping its something simple that one of you knowledgeable people may know how to fix.

Addon Domains And Subdomains
I have a main domain "main.com" and when I make a new addon domain "new.com", it creates a new DNS Zone for "new.com" but also adds a subdomain DNS entry to main.com "new.main.com". I know that is very typical way that cpanel works, and I know there are ways to work around this by using .htaccess. What I am trying to discover is if removing the "new" subdomain DNS entry under main.com could cause any problems. Are there side effects? Will this break anything within my VPS?

Resellers Are Not Permitted To Create Subdomains Of The Server's Main Domain
Whenever I try to create a user account I get the following error Sorry, resellers are not permitted to create subdomains of the server's main domain My server domain is www.domain.com and reseller is trying to create a user account like new.domain.com . How To Point All Subdomains To Main Directory Using CPanel
Im using Cpanel and I would like to have all subdomains of a domain I host point to the main root directory of the site. How would I do that in cpanel? When I click on subdomains do I just put the wildcard * for the subdomain name? Also what do I do if I want to point all subdomains to the main directory except for the certain domains I specify? I am not a reseller, but I currently use a reseller account to manage several separate sites of mine. I know that it is possible under a standard cPanel account to have addon domains, where the html files go in a subfolder of the main domain. If you do this: - is it possible for people to access the addon site files using www.maindomain/addondomain, and if so can you stop this? - do you still get separate email addresses and spamassassin settings for the addon domain? - do you get separate web server logs for each domain, for stats? - is there any other reason why it might still be better to pay more for a reseller account so that each site can be managed completely separately?

Addon Domains Vs Separate Domain Pros/cons
I'm trying to understand more the Pro's and Con's for having an Addon Domain vs Separate domain. Here's my use for it. Site1.com holds all the files, Site2.com holds all the video and images. When it comes time to add a second server (end of this year) I could move Site2.com to a second server and nfs mount it. Thats of the site is separate. PROBLEM: separate site means permission problems, when write code ie.php you can unlink / move files without permission which means setting up special groups. Addon domain doesn't have the permission problem from what I can see, since the domain gets the group access of the Mainsite. so no extra configuration required. now the problem would be how do I get that addon domain to a second server to offload some of the resources.

Email Being Picked Up As Spam From Hosted Domains. Main Domain Is Ok
i have a vps and although i can send mails without problem from my main root account, sending via any of the child accounts created for customers results in their email being picked up as spam (in hotmail at least). To clarify, mydomain.com is my main name. Email can send without problem, customersdomain.com, hosted on the same machine, when sending emails they are picked up as spam. The mx dns entries in the zone file are set (by default to) customersdomain.com. and for all the child domains customer1domain.com. etc. Do i need to ask the datacenter to add a reverse dns entry for mail.mydomain.com? Is this an issue with the mx records for the hosted domains? Should i change the hosted domaims mx entry on the customers domains to mail.mydomain.com? I know the ip isnt blacklisted because exactly the same email goes through when sending from the mydomain.com email addresses.

I create a abc.com domain hosting in whm. then I login to abc.com cpanel to AddOn Domain. I try to addon xyz.com into abc.com cpanel. But when i enter to xyz.com website it always show "Great Success ! Apache is working on your cPanel and WHM™ Server" cPanel and Apache page. Do Any Good Hosts Provide A CPanel That Keeps Addon Domain Lists In Order
I find that I like using CPanel with addon domains in a new unlimited domains shared plan rather than using WHM with each name having its own CPanel in a reseller plan (which I have been used to until now at another host). The only problem is that all the addon domains are out of order - they are not even in the order in which I add them. This puts a damper on things and makes managing them much less efficient than one would expect with the addons in order. After putting in a support ticket, I was told they can't do anything about it at all. They told me the order of the listing is the order in the "mail server apache configuration." After posting this matter here in the Apache forum, I have been informed by an SP member that the answer I got wouldn't hold any water at all, or more accurately, consists of a whole lot of smoke. As a person who knows how easy and basic it is to sort data lists or drop-down form selector fields myself, I must admit that it's hard to believe nothing can be done in the 21st century. I have no desire at all to go with another reseller plan, and like using CPanel instead with addons. Does anyone know of the good and well known unlimited domain hosting providers who keep the addon domains in order within CPanel? Is there any other good option for shared hosting that doesn't involve using WHM and does offer common sense multiple domain management where everything is in order?

Parked Domains Over Addon Domains
I have 2 wordpress blogs, and I'd like a few different domains to be shared on each of them. Using some exemples, suppose I have domains from domainA.com to domainE.com. domainA.com is my main domain and the others are addon domains. Today Blog1 is using blog.domainA.com, and domainB.com and domainC.com use WebRedirect to blog.domainA.com. And Blog2 uses domainD.com with WebRedirect on domainE.com too. To access a post like /2008/02/02/this-is-a-nice-post, it is available only at blog.domainA.com, and not by domains B and C. I'd like they 3 to be able to access all posts directly, without redirecting to domain A. To do that, I suppose I'd need to do some config on cPanel. And also on wordpress, even if I replicate it over other domains it insists to redirect to its configured domain. I was thinking on the possibility of using symbolic link (ln -s) on their folders to blog.domainA.com folder, but I don't have access to shell on SSH so I'd like to know if it would work before trying. In a real exemple of what I want, these domains all share the same phpBB forum: forumpcs.com.br, extremepc.com.br, forumdohardware.com.br. Do u know if symbolic link would work to share the same wordpress? And how to make wordpress stop redirecting to blog.domainA.com?

Addon domains are supplied by some webhosts and not others, one of the hosts who does not supply any addon domains puts across a good argument that they can overload a server if they get out of control. Directory Structure And Addon Domains
I have a shared hosting account. VPS or dedicated is not an option. I use CPanel. For example, www .maindomain. com is the primary domain associated with the hosing account. When adding subdomains or addon domains, a new directory is created in the public_html directory of my hosting account. These new directories hold all the files for the sub domains and addon domains. My problem is that the directory that holds the subdomain or addon domain CAN BE accessed from: [url] or www .maindomain. com/addon_domain_directory/ thus, www .addon_domain. com can be accessed from it's own URL as well as www .maindomain. com/addon_domain_directory/ Is there a solution that DOES NOT allow this to happen? If my main domain could have it's own directory under public_html, that would be great, but I do not know if this is possible. Addon Domains Moving To Parked
I have a reseller account in WHM and CPANEL. With that I have a range of sites under it created in Cpanel under addon domains. Everything works fine, then suddenly everything goes down, and all leads to the main site. Reason is, it shows all the domains in Cpanel as parked! Even removing them from there or WHM causes it to dissappear from the addon section and not show up online. Now it happened months ago where httpd.conf file had to be edited manually. And it just happened about 30hrs ago. Does anyone know why this would happen? I have asked my datacentre 3 times, with no clear answer about it, except it just does. How can it be prevented in future? Also asked my datacentre this with no answer. Will be putting up a review of them soon, and it will be the complete opposite of what I thought of them before.

VPS- With Main Domain Name
I know from past experiences, a VPS is not suppose to be setup on a sub domain for the main domain name account. My VPS was setup on a sub domain which is not allowing my domain name to resolve the with the DNS server. How to fix this issue? I have a domain with 2 addon domains added to it. Lets call the domain1.com and the addons are domain2.com and domain3.com I transfered the sites from one server to my server and know if I try to goto domain2.com or domain3.com they are not found. If I goto domain1.com/domain2 (or 3) it works just fine though. I tried to do the addon domain in cpanel but it is coming up with the following errors. Bind reloading on server using rndc zone: [domain1.com] The subdomain, domain2.domain1.com has been added. Error from park wrapper: domain2.com is already configured. Removed domain2.domain1.com Server at line: 1244. Removed Entry from httpd.conf Bind reloading on server using rndc zone: [domain1.com] The subdomain, domain2.domain1.com has been removed. domain2.com could not be setup. The subdomain domain2.domain1.com was not setup either. How can I fix this? I did try to make domain2 its own account after that, but the script did not work for some reason even though it does if I goto domain1.com/domain2. I know it must be something simple I am missing, but for the life of me I am drawing a blank. Also, I moved the site by doing a complete backup in Cpanel and uploaded that to the new server and restored it from the WHM backup screen.

I currently have an established domain, mainsite.com, which is running PHP-Nuke on the directory /home, with a redirect accordingly. Now, I've created an addon domain, 2ndsite.com, for which I've installed Wordpress at the top-level. The trouble is, 2ndsite.com defaults to mainsite.com/home - unless I redirect 2ndsite.com to mainsite.com/2ndsite. If I do that, I can then see my WordPress installation. I'd obviously like to have 2ndsite.com be viewed from that address, as opposed to a subdir under mainsite.com - that is why I got the domain in the first place.

I have a domain name as per my sig. I am also creating a subdomain totally in contrast with that site below. My primary domain has one page on it so i would like to: a) delete the one page on my primary domain b) Make the contents of my subdomain my primary domain. e.g my domain is www.info-peep.com, my sub will be example.info-peep.com........i would like to make example.info-peep.com : www.info-peep.com......that make sense, as really the sub will be my main site. Moving Main Domain To Another Server
I have my main domain (domain.com) and it is where all my sites and customer sites are pointed to (ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com). I just purchased a VPS and have made (domain.com) my main domain as I want it to be because of keeping the nameservers the same for my clients. My vision is this, I will transfer all the sites from my old cPanel account to my new DirectAdmin account. I have setup a time to let my clients know not to update any content on their sites. At that time I will then download the sites from the cPanel account to the DA account. I will then move my main domain (domain.com) over as well and then change the name server registries at namecheap. I understand some things can get lost in this switch, but ALL clients are aware of this and understand. They will still have access to the old server via the IP address to check for misdirected mail. Is this the simplest way to get this done? Is there a better way, with using the main domain?

Can a domain be parked on an addon domain in a cPanel server? At first thought I do not see it as a problem as a ServerAlias directive for the parked inside the addon domain Virtual Host container inside httpd.conf is all is required but cPanel may not allow for all it's wisdom. Restoring Accounts To Addon Domain
Currently, 2 domains hosted on a dedicated server with each account having its own Cpanel. I'm going to move/migrate these 2 domains to a shared hosting server. The shared hosting accont has Cpanel and I've added 2 Add-on domains (the same ones on the dedicated). In total, there are 3 domains under the shared hosting account; The main domain and the 2 other (add-on) domains. Addon Domain, Cant Have Password Protected Folders
I have 2 domains on 1 account. My main website is www.aviationcafe.net and i added on www.modelcuir.com thats what it looks like to the public. But with my host it will be www.modelcuir.aviationcafe.net. I noticed in the files area that modelcuir is it's own file, i can password protect that but it will stop people getting onto the website completly and i only want to stop them getting into the members area. E-mail From Addon Domain Flagged As Junk
I have an addon domain running on my webhosting along side my primary account. I am mostly using the Thunderbird client to send e-mails. 80% of the time when I send a mail out from "name@addondomain.com" hotmail, gmail, yahoo all see it as spam! What's ironic is I receive more darn adult e-mails in my free accounts than anything else, and yet it's thinking the occasional mass personal message is SPAM? So these guys that flood my inbox daily must know something I don't? Is there something I'm doing incorrectly? Or do I need to change a hosting package setting, should I use different software such as a php mailing list?

Apache Overloading Due To Requests To My Main Domain Name Server (DNS) Name
I currently have a web VPS hosted with FDCServers.net and after 5 days of switching to it i am getting massive HTTP requests. When i login to WHM and hit apache status i have many requests per second by multiple IP's that are going to pages that simple don't exist. Currently my hostname for the server is set at web-01.optical-hosting.com which is what the requests are being sent to. I am also having a DNS issue because when i put http://web-01.optical-hosting.com in the web browser it displays the first account's site under "list accounts" in cpanel. Domain Name Server (DNS) Changes With Subdomains
I currently have shared hosting, but am getting VPS with another company. I'd like to keep my domains on my original hosting and direct the domains to the new server. I've been reading and it doesn't seem that hard to change for a regular domain. The problem is I don't seem to understand how to do the same for a subdomain. I keep reading about the A record and CNAME, but just don't get it. Does anyone have any experience with this. Do I just put the IP address for the new server in the A record? I just want to make sure I know what's going on before I order my new hosting and find out it's not possible or something. I'm also curious if mail, like myname@mydomain.com will continue to work. Or is there something I need to change for this as well.

Now, I am getting a dedicated server just to host the shoutcasts accounts, and keep on using my actual web hosting company for the new domain website and email support. Moving Main Account CPanel/WHM

I got many complaints from our customer that are using addon domain facilites. They cannot add mail account, see site stats, etc. I checked on /var/cpanel/users, there's no domain for addon domain they have but DNS zone is still there. New Subdomains Dont Appear At CPanel
Everytime I create a new subdomain, it appears.. but after I create another subdomain, the first one dissappear and I only can see the last one created.. Dns zone, httpd.conf, localdomains entries are there.. but when (using X3 o or X) I go to subdomain on the cPanel account, Im not able to see anything... anyway, subdomains are working...
