Fast ASP.NET + PHP Hosting Server Accessible Worldwide
May 11, 2009
Am new and have done the usual forum search but did not find what i (specifially) want.
Looking for a good (shared) hosting company with the ability to run both ASP.NET and PHP sites (if possible).
The hosting should be fast and accessible in US, Europe and China.
Thus far, i have been able to find a few shared hosting companies with a bit of speed, but they will not provide both ASP.NET and PHP
Is my combination hard to find and will i need to just seperate and find 2 hosting companies, one for .NET and one for PHP?

I need to provide an 8gb file download (split into 1gb parts) that will be downloaded by 80+ people worldwide, simultaneously. I'm talking for example, they will be each downloading at 1.2megabytes per second each (this is the average speed of their home connections), simultaneously.
What are the specs or things I should be looking out for in a website hosting provider?
One service I'm looking at is advertised as 0.5Mbps in bandwidth and 100Mbps in transit, for £40 a month. The service I'm looking at is sensical.net's colo business service (http://www.sensical.net/). What does this mean and is it fast enough? What is the difference between these two figures - 0.5Mbps bandwidth and 100Mbps transit?

We are a web-based Yacht Charter company, with offices scattered around the world:
www.boatbookings.com
Currently, both our web site and our back-office business management system are hosted on a single server in the UK, with an automatic fail-over to a server in Dallas, TX, USA.
The problem we are having is that our sales office in Singapore is having really slow response times and this is very frustrating for them.
Using an application called "JustPing" we see that response times From Singapore are much slower than other parts of the world. (the cities closer to London are fastest, the ones further away are slowest)
JustPing Results
Is there anyway to improve this or is hosting our applications on multiple servers the only way to improve performance. What's the best cost-effective method of multiple server hosting?
(Incidentally, if I JutPing Google, response times are fantastic worldwide, but we know they're hosted on many, very large servers)

I'm planning to host about 10 websites, most of them will be developed on Dotnetnuke (latest version). The most important issue is the speed of the web sites. The pages need to be opened fast. The target audience is located in Istanbul/Turkey, therefore I think the EU-based companies will be better for my requirements.

I'm in the process of switching my host provider and Im leaning towards Surpass Hosting.
I've already contacted them for a few question and their support seems expectational as they respond my tickets thoroughly in less then 20 minutes.
Just a few questions to those that do use surpass or have used them. How fast are their servers for PHP like Wordpress and Invision Power Board and are are your sites stable (always fast, or are they slow at times and then fast) with them.

I have a server with two hard disks.
The centos operating system and plesk (and also apache webserver) are installed on the first hard disk.
I have mounted the second hard disk (6 TB with ext4 file system) in a folder under /var/www/vhosts/AHostingAccount directory.
This folder is accessible via plesk's file manager but i cannot access it via ftp.

I have a VPS account now and I host a setup.exe file on my site, but about 10% of all downloads are incomplete and result in a corrupt setup file. I am guessing that maybe it's because too many people are trying to download the file at the same time? Whatever the reason, I need more reliable file hosting. Can anyone suggest a place to host just my files, which will provide speedy, reliable downloads? I'll still keep the VPS for my site, but need to put the files elsewhere. I don't want any free, ad supported sites, or ones that require the user to visit another site first.

I want to host a torrent search engine (not a torrent site with actual torrents hosted, only a search engine).
It has to be really fast. I have a few questions?
What hosting is required for this site to be lightning fast? Most of it is due to the coding of the site but how much of it is reliant of the server? Any suggestions?
Also, is it better to start small and upgrade as more visitors come? Or is it just better to get a big server?

If you need a hosting provider, reliable with logical prices and fantastic support then you should consider SoftSysHosting.com
I'm developing web sites since 1995 and through all these years I have changed many hosting companies always looking the best for my clients. BUT what are the basic 2 critical factors for a website?
1) Reliability -stability - fast loading
2) Excellent support staff.
SoftSystHosting.com has also logical prices for Windows2008 hosting needs.
Whenever I needed to open a new ticket during the process of domain transfer I always was getting a reply in minutes. Also the support staff is very gentle, experienced and always looking for to satisfy your needs. You need Full Trust for your domain? No problem. Just open a ticket and in 5 minutes you'll have it.
One main reason I left from one of my previous hosting provider was Full Trust. They offered only Medium Trust.
I left also another hosting provider since support system was horrible. I opened a ticket and I wasn't sure when it will be answered. In cases of troubles a complete absense of support may ruin your business. I usally do changes at night or weekend when my clients do not work. What happen if something goes wrong and there is no one at the other side of support to help you? I have faced such situations that the 24x7 support was 8x5.
So if you want to be free from anxiety and have reliable hosting with a fanatical support team, then I suggest you to join SoftSysHosting.com
SoftSysHosting.com Support rocks.

We have few domains which resolve properly for say 1 day and again next day its not resolving.
Sometimes this ON/OFF happens several times a day. This happens when we use the 2 name servers assigned to the server.
this problem does not happen if we use a manged DNS service for the domain names.

The server I have running has LAMP and some other related services running. It's on a 100Mbit shared port. Whenever the server has been running for 30-90mins, the pings start to become very high (+2000ms). Problem exists with ftp, ssh, http etc, and restarting named, httpd, mysqld doesn't affect anything. The only thing that gets the pings back down and the speeds up again is to reboot the system, which takes about a minute. The MRTG graphs show that there isn't any significant traffic which cause the pings go down, in fact, the traffic goes close to 0 when the pings start sky rocketing. CPU load is < 0.1 and memory usage low as well.

I'm after a server admin company that has experience in high traffic and mission critical servers.
Response times should be super quick.
I hope for telephone and MSN.
I have no control panel.
Strong experience in:
- Centos
- Litespeed
- Lighttpd
- Apache
- Mysql
- DDoS
* money is not a problem *
I want to pay up front a monthly fee and have it fully managed so I don't have to worry why the MySQL server just suddenly died or why Server 4 doesn't respond.

Somebody posted a video in my website which got viral. Many big websites (like gizmodo) embeded it and I've maxed out my 100mbit/s connection. Traffic is increasing and my website started crashing.
I want to move that video to other server ASAP so my website would stop crashing.
Do you know any host which would set up server or VPS fast (up to 1-2 hours)?

Recently got an offer from a decent hosting place for a server with a Celeron 1.7ghz processor for a pretty good price.
Would that be sufficient to power what will primarily be blogs and emails?
All of the sites will be running things like Wordpress, b2evolution, and Nucleus.

Starting FILEHOSTING site. Need a Fast server..
I am mostly looking for Unmetered Servers. Like FDC, but their servers are too slow as i heard from some of my friends.
Any other servers that are unmetered and offer good speeds?
I want a shared 100mbit for the start, maybe i will upgrade later.
I currently have 10mbit unmetered, but thats not enough for filehosting sites.

Is there a good dedicated server company that has fast guaranteed turn ups, allows colocation, a private network, and is outside the midwest?
I want to colo my database server(s), firewalls, and switches but then use dedicated servers as web servers. Hopefully allowing me to add web servers very quickly as needed (someone getting /.'d). I would want the webservers on a private network only.
Does anyone offer any type of service like this?

FYI, the VPS'es on at least one Crissic node (beta?) are back up at this time. The VPS'es on another node (alpha?) are not up, and the control panel at alpha.crissic.com is not.
You might want to jump in and rescue your data if you need to and haven't done it yet.

When I restart Apache it starts working immediately, but within a few seconds it goes back to no response stage.
