I am getting this error on my site. I have googled this error and it is telling me it relates to a /temp/ folder of some form. I am currently on a hosting plan (not a dedicated server). Is there ANY way I can access to fix this problem either from my control panel or by code?
I was just upgrading my system packages using up2date, and got this error...:
Code: Testing package set / solving RPM inter-dependencies... ######################################## libpng-1.2.2-27.i386.rpm: ########################## Done. libpng-devel-1.2.2-27.i386. ########################## Done. libpng10-1.0.13-17.i386.rpm ########################## Done. libpng10-devel-1.0.13-17.i3 ########################## Done. rh-postgresql-7.3.19-1.i386 ########################## Done. rh-postgresql-devel-7.3.19- ########################## Done. rh-postgresql-libs-7.3.19-1 ########################## Done. rh-postgresql-python-7.3.19 ########################## Done. rh-postgresql-server-7.3.19 ########################## Done. samba-3.0.9-1.3E.13.2.i386. There was some sort of I/O error: [Errno 28] No space left on device But I do have space on all my partitions...
Also installing only the samba package it fails:

I have set up my Virtual Private Server and uploaded all my site's files to /var/www folder. Before that, there was an old simple 'index.html' file
Code: <html> <head> <title>INDEX</title> </head> <body> <h1>IT WORKS!!!!</h1> </body> </html> and when I typed the address www.mydomain.com it displayed correctly. Then I deleted this html and uploaded my files through FTP and now the browser says :
Code: Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0
Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/var/www/index.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in Unknown on line 0

I'm getting this a lot lately on some of my websites with DB in use
my friend has an un-managed VPS plan in kloxo-hypervm mode
yesterday the stats showed in hypervm as the space was over used, so I personally deleted the processed stats which cleared around 20gb space, again today the space is totally consumed, I don't know why its happening and have no clue where are the other locations where the space could have been consumed i.e similar to location of logs or any other specs which could have been consuming space
unknown space consumption - very high no idea how!
its actually an image hosting site and I noted that not many pics and not much space was consumed in the pics uploaded in the last 24hrs but this really puzzles and troubles me as I am currently tracking my friend's VPS, please help me sort this out problem and keep my head high before my friend
I just discovered there is seperate error log for php-fpm and since only 1 site is running fully nginx, the log is full with this error:
"NOTICE: PHP message: PHP Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/lib/php/session) in Unknown on line 0"
I have been having a lot of problems with my server lately. Today I attempted to update container software. The operation failed with this output:
Operation update with the Env(s) "server.[site].com" is finished with errors: Can not update packages: exec failed: warning: /etc/issue created as /etc/issue.rpmnew warning: /etc/issue.net created as /etc/issue.net.rpmnew error: /etc/httpd/logs expected to be a regular file, lstat() returned 40000 error: unpacking of archive failed on file /etc/httpd/logs: cpio: rename failed - Is a directory warning: /etc/yum.conf created as /etc/yum.conf.rpmnew Error in Transaction: One or more rpm failed. Error: /usr/share/vzyum/bin/yum failed, exitcode=1 .
I am slowly learning how to use Linux and the SSH terminal to manage my server... but this beyond me...
(I wonder if it has anything to do with the "segmentation faults" that have been occurring.)
I was running on a Ubuntu 10.04 LTS VPS and had this error too, then yesterday imported the domain from the old VPS to our new Plesk Server (Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS) and I still get this error on this one domain.
This is the error in question...

Got a slight problem on my development OpenVZ server, it has been working 100% up until 2 days ago when I did a restart.
I have 5 VE's (id 201 - 205), I was able to run all 5 will ample resourses spare.
Now I can only run one at a time...?
I checked the logs and get this
Dec 3 18:16:17 localhost kernel: allocation failed: out of vmalloc space - use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. Dec 3 18:16:17 localhost kernel: VE: 202: stopped Dec 3 18:16:17 localhost kernel: VE: 202: failed to start with err=-12 ....
While lunarpages is kind and offers great support. The support takes a while. They frequenlty get hacked or block your ip to where you can not access cpanel and switch your servers a lot in the past 3 months i got transfered to 4 different servers with the last one atlantis and prior one belogna. There support can take up to 72 hours to respond back where other hosts at max 24 hours. Their downtime has been around 97% not advertised 99.9%.
This is what really upset me.
I contacted them through email to cancel my account and they said they need more info, ok. Gave them info and they went ahead to renewing the account after I had gave them proper info. I tried to get this resolved for over a week now.
I thought since they renewed my account i should access my account and download my entire site, well I could not access cpanel again, no surprise there.
I just now got off a 20 min phone call and they tried to get my account canceled as I gave proper info to cancel the account so I would not be renewed and they tried to sell me their service for $75 to close my account.
I eventually had to threaten them to press lawsuits "not that I would even if it wasnt handled" and they said we will close your account and not charge you the $75 to do so.
My god! How hard is it to close an account with such service?
When I joined them my first year was absolutely great! It just has started to decline in the past couple months or so.
I rate them at 50% great because their supportive in all areas except for the slow response and canceling an account.
Dont use them ive had much better success with GoDaddy.... wow GoDaddy! I know tell me about it. GoDaddy is not my favorite host.
You need to be careful when finding a host becasue ive learned that they pay to be on the top. I am now using Host Gator with no compaints looking at moving to HostMonster for the price and services though should I?
I want to transfer hosts right now but I still have 9 months with my old host. Do you know of any hosts that will transfer this time when I move to them? I have seen this on a few sites but forgot where
RedHat Box running Sendmail 8.13.1, php 4.4.7, only 1 domain on it running the most recent vBulletin version and vBulletin has been successfully setup to run mail through GMail. The files in the domain directory have been cleaned up, ie. old unused files, etc.
Every night running into the same issue. Server goes on VERY high load due to sendmail. With hundreds of following processes:
I recently worked on an issue involving a severe performance issue between "write back" and "write through" caching on the RAID/HD.
Long story short, we purchased 12 IBM x3550 M2s came with LSI SAS1068E/SR-BR10i (gimp redheaded stepchild of the MR series. No BBU, no onboard DIMM.) RAID controller and had very bad and inconsistent write throughput with it. Sometimes it writes out 300-400MB/s (dd test, I know... don't flame. I know dd is NOT a good test.), somethings as low as 30MB/s. The server is configured with 2.5" SATA 500GB on HW RAID-1.
From dmesg log it was default to "write through" on sda. I figured out via lsiutil, you can set the drives to "write back". Once we did that, the write performance is more consistent. NOTE, this enables write back on the SATA drives, NOT the controller itself.
I loop out lspci on all our VPS servers. Found out those with LSI (SAS 8344ELP) cards have sda set to "write through w/ FUA". Those are already all RAID-10s, and I have not heard a single complaint from any customer stating poor I/O performance.
I believe the 8344ELP do have a BBU, I can double-check with DC. The DC is on UPS as well. So that rules out the shortcomings of enabling write back caching.
I want to ask those of you using Xen (3.3 & 3.4). Do you guys have better I/O performance with "write back" or "write through" caching? I'm actually looking for real world results. Where you guys actually deployed production VPS server with clients on it.
im running out of space on one of my sites but i have more then plenty of data transfer.
Unfortunately my hosting packaged it weird where they provide not enough hd space. Im trying to figure out is there a way where i can use another server or hosting company that can provide space only and use their servers just for space?
i think amazon.com offered this but wasnt sure how exactly this works.
