Better Webmail Program That's Compatible With Plesk
I have a Plesk server. Plesk by default uses the Horde webmail software. I was wondering if there is a more powerful, better tool for webmail out there that also works with Plesk. All feedback is appreciated.

Invalid Command 'php_flag' - After Recompiling PHP & Apache?
After I recompiled Apache and PHP using easyapache from cPanel, we started getting all these weird errors. I'm getting a few people now complaining about not being able to enable register_globals. I believe (after searching) that having this enabled is a big security risk and shouldn't need to be used. However, some people apparently where using .haccess and php_flag to enable this. I did find on a few places that people can create their own php.ini file to emulate what was previously done with .htaccess? After searching around.. I found out that Register Globals can become a security risk based on the scripts configuration that uses it. This feature normally can be enabled via .htaccess using the glad "php_flag register_globals On". Creating a file called php.ini inside the directory of the site with the flag "register_globals=on" I believe will also enable this option. To enable this option on a global scale, you can edit '/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/etc/php.ini', but its not recommended. However.. We are unable to get the php.ini concept to work. Is there something I need to do to enable/allow users to do this for their account?

I'd go w/ a hosted service, but I open allot of pop3 connections... (program I use downloads one email, closes connection, reopens... repeat)... There's lots of cookbooks out there, but they require quite a bit more time commitment (and configurability) than I want / need. Is there any dumbified installs available? I tried with webmin, but even that wants me to manually configure a postfix / imap server bridge.=

Qmail - I'm Afraid I Wasn't Able To Deliver Your Message
Basically a client has been getting really bad email problems with their email. They keep getting the standard qmail msg back from several emails. I originally thought this msg was being returned as it was an invalid receipients address, but they are assuring me that this is not the case? Anyway the basic msg they are getting is: Hi. This is the qmail-send program at p16489287.pureserver.info. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. BoxVPS = Useless | STAY AWAY From This 'company'

Also had to create a support ticket. And when it was finally delivered, there was no DirectAdmin on it. Specially disturbing, since I actually paid for a monthly license. Not to mention that their responses are very vague. They claim to apply the promotions (triple disk space, double bandwidth) 24 hours after they setup the VPS. I have no idea why they do that. Moreover, they have false advertising on their VPS page (Instant Activation..where it should read 'We don't activate your VPS unless you create a support ticket). A speedtest from the VPS showed that the VPS is capable of bursting to a maximum of 10mbps, while average speed is barely 2mbps. Stay away from these guys. They're potential scammers. They WILL scam.. sooner or later.

Looking For Host That Supports $_SERVER['PATH_INFO']
I am finishing up on my clients site and the ecommerce software we use has an option for search engine friendly URL's but your server must support $_SERVER['PATH_INFO'] . My client is hosted by GoDaddy and my host (HostGator) does not support it unless you go dedicated. I need $_SERVER['PATH_INFO'] Dedicated IP, PHP, MySQL, .htaccess support preferably CPanel - not Plesk Less than $120 / year I am looking for a well established company like the ones I previously mentioned because my client wants peace of mind and I don't want to screw him over.

What Is The Reverse Command For 'mount --bind'
A few days ago, when installing TUX, I have mounted the virtual hosting directory to var/www/html/mywebsite.com (that's an empty directory I created in order for TUX to work) via: mount --bind /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/ /var/www/html/mywebsite.com/ command..... After figuring out that TUX has some problems I reverted everything but not this mount --bind command.. What is the reverse command for this, so everything will come back to the point which they were before?

We are testing this motherboard out for future use and are having trouble getting RAM that doesn't cause it to throw a RAM error. It does a no RAM beep, has no video, etc. Supermicro has no compatible sticks listed for 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz DIMM ECC Registered, and we are currently using Crucial CT51272BB1339 Anyone using this board with 2GB DDR3-1333 ECC and 4GB DDR3-1333 ECC?

I currently have a VPS server and I run a lot of joomla based sites for my clients and having done a bit of research, mediatemple has come up as being a well-recommended hosting provider for joomla based installations in the sense that the servers are all ready and configured for joomla, where chmodding does not need to be done once a joomla installation has been done - something I find very tedious after each joomla install. How To Program In Shell ?
I'm trying to program a very simple shell script that does 2-3 things. 1) checks for the number of a script running say, "ps aux | grep php | wc -l" returns that number. 2) deletes temp files folders "cd /to/that/directory/; rm -fr *&" every 90 seconds IF that number in check #1 is below say 50.... and then have this shell script launched in shell every so often, not sure on the frequency but first is how to program in shell is a TIME DELAY....

I have decided to go with eurovps.com as I'm close to them and ping is fast. What is the best solution for IMAP and large email accounts: Linux Cpanel, Linux Plesk or Windows Plesk? FTP Program With Instant Editing
I am currently using WinSCP to edit files on remote servers on the fly without having to download them and then open them. WinSCP works fine, but today I experienced a severe problem for a second time. When saving a file (a css file), WinSCP gave me an error something to the effect of "Lost connection - Could not list directory"...or something like that. When I reconnected, the file has gone corrupt at 0 bytes. Ultimately, the file is history! Thankfully, I had a backup of the file, but more specifically, I am a fan of "Ctrl+A " then "Ctrl+C" before saving any file when doing live edits. This is what saved my butt! I have a continuous problem of losing my connection with the remote servers, but when I connect via SSH to my local servers (either locally here or when I am mobile), I do not believe I have EVER lost my SSH connection. My question is this... Is there another FTP program out there that anyone can recommend that will allow me to edit files over FTP that does not require download, then open? Filezilla works great, but to my knowledge, I can only download each file, then open. I have reported the problem to the host and we have gone through the settings with WinSCP and I have also been to WinSCP about this issue...all to no avail.

Anyone else sign up for this? Did microsoft require your host email them and say "[you] have exclusive sending rights for this IP"? Please ask them to re-send the e-mail confirmation to [email] with the [id] subject. SSH Or Program How To File Replace Lots Of Files
I have anywhere between 80,000 - 90,000 webpages that have a single code into this. Unfortunately at the time the web developer I used didn't use PHP includes. So each .html file has the code in it. I want a way so I can do a single command either a program or an SSH command can find the syntax in the files and replace it will code I have. Its just a single line of code that is basically for an adsense code, so the pub-blahblahblah etc.. Does anyone know of a SSH command I can use, or a program that will find and replace without manually opening up each file? 80k - 90k of opening files then find/replace will take forever!

I logged into horde and when I try to delete messages I am getting the following error message: There was an error deleting messages from the folder "Inbox". This is what the server said: [TRYCREATE] Mailbox does not exist. Can anyone help me sort this out? I rely on email for my business and this is driving me nuts. search in internet and find this solution Quote: Solution: Check "When deleting messages, move them to your Trash folder instead of marking them as deleted?" in Horde IMP preferences under "Options" -> "Deleting and Moving Messages". If there is set "Trash folder:" option as "None", Disable that option or select the correct trash folder. but unfortunately in "options" don't find any "Deleting and Moving Messages" and Trash folder too :-(

Just had another new server setup, and webmail is playing up. What I am getting is when clicking webmail, and entering the username and password (or email address and password) it loads then says 'Incorrect user or password' even thought they are correct. I have tried fixing email permissions, it was successful, however still the same problem. New server is Linux.

I encounter a strange problem. After I logged in to Cpanel, I created a webmaster@mydomain.com email account. Then I go to webmail to login. I have tried using the full email address in the Horde Mail gives this error: Quote: Login failed because your username or password was entered incorrectly. Notice: Unknown(): Login failed. The thing is, I am sure I entered the correct user name and password. Any idea how I could fix this problem? I have phpsuexec enabled. This shouldn't be a problem, I hope.

Windows Program To Display Big WARNING If Computer IP Is Not As Expected
I have some customers who use a VPN to connect to the internet securely. (They live in a restricted country.) So when they connect to the VPN, it gives them a new IP, and when they go to "whatismyip.com" it shows the IP of the VPN server, as expected. The problem is that sometimes their IP changes back to their local ISP without any indication. The VPN still appears to work (green lights are displayed in the VPN icon in the sytem tray), but their IP is now the local ISP providers, which means they are not fully "protected" any more. And that is bad. So, what I'm thinking is to find a Windows program or script or something that runs every x minutes.. and checks to see what is the current IP. If it isn't as expected (the VPN server's IP), then a big red warning window would start flashing on the screen, so they can then reboot or restart the VPN. Does anyone know of such a program? (BTW - they are using openVPN, latest version. And yes -- it works properly 99% of the time.. but for some reason the IP just changes back to local ISP for no apparent reason. The log does not show any errors or helpful indicators.)
