Why Non-ssl Pages Are Blank, Ssl Pages Work
I am moving to a new server. At first the [url]version of the site was fine. I had trouble getting [url]working. Once I had the path to the certificate file correct, I was good to go. So, I started moving data. I also ran some updates on the new server (installed mysql, php, related pkgs). I don't know when the [url]pages stopped working, but I didn't realize it until I had everything moved over and tried to go live. The pages are completely blank. If I view source, I get this: ....

SSL With Links In Https Pages...
I have an SSL cert installed to have a secure commerce area. Some of the pages have external links to non-secure sites like say [url]The padlock icon breaks and warns that there's unauthorized content. The hosting provider says it's because the external links need to be https links. Obviously that can't be done to a non-secure external site. So the question is: do external http links break security on a secure https page? If so, is there a work around other than removing external links?

Random Blank Pages
Seems my site is getting random blank pages. I did some research and maybe but not sure its related to open files. PHPSuExec & Blank Pages
I am running Joomla on a server and am trying to get phpsuexec to work with it, so far without success. From searching the web and forums I managed to get rid onf my 403 and 500 errors, but now I am dealing with blank white pages on all of my sites where the page being loaded is a php file. I have all of my php calls removed from .htaccess and put into a php.ini file. What else am I missing here? Is there a conflict in my apache build maybe?

Apache Serving Blank Pages
I am having this issue with a new box where Apache at random serves blank pages and won't serve anything but until it's restarted. I see no errors in /var/log/messages either to show why this is happening. It's not all pages either just several various ones. I know it's not a programming issue either because the only thing the server is running is one instance of vBulletin. I look at top during this and CPU and RAM usage are very low. The only fix to get Apache to serve the pages is to restart it. Anyone have any clues on what it could be? I set my php.ini memory limit to a gig (I have 16 gigs in the sever)

Blank Php Pages- Mod_cgi- Suexec? W00t
I am having trouble with blank pages on some web applications; ccHost and phpBB3. I can get these to run on a seperate VPS, that isn't as securely locked down and the dedi --- but it is of course the dedi I want to run these apps from. I simply get blank pages when trying to access ccHost. As if PHP isn't parsing it. But in a phpBB3 installation I'm getting random blanks, some of which I can refresh out of ... What's even weirder: sometimes when I try to viewtopic - or call some function ... I get the download dialogue!? (Do you want to open or download index.php for instance). I've been trying loads of stuff. It seems that mod_security isn't running anymore, so that isn't the issue. Could mod_cgi or mod_suexec perhaps be the cheeky offenders? I have absolutely no idea. Just hoping someone can help me where to look... Or how I can debug this issue. I'm at a loss in how to continue. Any help will be very appreciated. Some details... The server is hardened and secured, but... I'm running other CMS installs on the server, and they are working fine. Even a phpBB2 install is running smooth. Besides this I'm using LAMP setup on CentOS and webmin is running.

SSL Cert Doesn't Work On IE
I ordered a RapidSSL (also called QuickSSL) cert from RapdiSSL.com (GeoTrust) to test out an email service. It works on firefox, but not in any version of IE I have on my two computers at home, a PC and a laptop running 6.0sp2 and 7.0 respectively. When I raised a trouble ticket, Geotrust responded with a ppt attachment that clearly shows the cert working for the domain in IE. I have no reason to doubt them, but I replied with a ppt of my own showing the cert not working and am waiting for their reply. Is it possible for a cert not to work on a specific browser like this? When I asked my email service provider, they said the following: Quote: Hello, This indicates a problem with the SSL certificate that was installed. Possibly, an intermediate certificate issued by your certificate authority is need to be installed in addition to the one you gave us to enable Internet Explorer to fully trust your certificate and show the secure site. Note for example that the only difference between going to [url]and [url] is the certificate in use ... the same server and software with the same settings is used in both cases. I recommend going back to Geotrust and ask if there is a Geotrust Intermediate certificate that should be installed in addition to your issued certificate." The domain is CNAMED to their server so that the app looks as if it is being run off my domain. I don't think there is anything non-standard about this because LuxSci is a topnotch provider and this is how they enable their clients to run private label services.

SSL And Non-SSL Files In Same Folder
My web host sets up public_html for http and public_ssl for https traffic. So, if I want my whole site to be secure, I place everything in public_ssl. However, I am using a shopping cart system inside a CMS. I want only certain parts to be secure - e.g. the last stage of the checkout procedure. At the moment, I can only achieve this by having two copies of the CMS/shopping cart, one in public_html and one in public_ssl. Whilst this approach works (at least from the shopper's point of view), there are lots of problems from a content management point of view. My host is of the opinion that "this is the only way it can be done". Is it possible to enable ssl on public_html, have a single copy of the cms there, and then switch between secure and non-secure mode as needed? If this is possible, can you provide me with a technical description of the setup that I can pass on to my host?

Proper SSL- Liquidweb SSL
I have a server qith liquidweb. Recently I'm getting the message.. host.domain.com used an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed. Error code sec_error_untrusted_issuer Liquidweb is tell me I need an SSL certificate? I don't get it sicne I have a new server with them that doesnt get this error and another older one that doesnt get the error. OK find]e, whatever. I have free SSL's at namecheap from positivessl. Phish Pages
I have these few old accounts(websites) that has history of being phish attacked. The problem is like this. When I transfer them to newer server using whm backup transfer in most cases hacker can still upload phish pages BUT if I recreate the account and moved old the files manually to that new account and server phish attacked is gone. Any idea why this is happening? Probably old cpanel files that causes this? where do I start? For some reasons I cannot just recreate the account then do it manually in behalf of the clients. Some sites are somehow complicated if I do it manually.

If the user links to a different page and domain hosted by the same company is the browser experience quicker? If I have 2 webpages with 2 different hosts and wish to link them is there any meaningful slowdown for the user, to transfer to different pages with different hosts. 404s On Dynamic Pages Only
I have a problem with a site that I'm hosting on a managed dedicated server - I'll try to explain this as simply as possible! From my office I seem to have a problem viewing dynamic pages on the site. - The HTML index page loads fine - Internal dynamic PHP pages throw up 404s - Other PHP pages/sites on the same server are fine - The pages load fine using a proxy browser - I've cleared my cache which made no difference - From other locations (home) I have never had the problem I'm obviously worried that I'm not the only person having these problems. The fact that the site loads fine through a proxy indicates that there's not a problem with the server, However I'm confused that it's not a local problem as the HTML pages shouldn't be loading either right?

I am trying to control access to an asp page by using windows resource groups. The virtual directory in IIS has both 'Integrated Windows Authentication' and 'Basic Authentication' checked. When an unauthorized user tries to access this page, it prompts thrice for the user ID and password before going to the 'user not authorized' page. I want it to display the error the very first time an unauthorized user tries to access this page and not ask him thrice before throwing the error page. The operating system being used is Windows 2003 server.

HostGator Ads In My Error Pages?
I just got an account with HostGator and when I typed in part of my site's URL wrong it went to some kinda shady looking HostGator spam site. There's some message that says something about money from their ads going to charity. Does anybody know if they actually donate the money to charity and if so which charity? Even if the money does go to charity, I think it is extremely unprofessional of them to override the error pages that I uploaded with my site.

Installed plesk to my Centos VPS, I created Domain, and unselected Custom Error Documents, as i wanted to use htaccess for that since pleask custom error doese not support php files. in my htaccess inserted. Website Pages Get Overwritten Randomly
For the past few days I've been facing a weird problem where a few of my website pages (index.php, login.php etc) get overwritten with some google analytics code. The rest of the website pages remain fine. So basically, something somewhere running from the user account overwrites these specific pages. By the way, my website logs didnt show anything suspicious around the time when this first happened.

Hacker :: Pages Showing Errors
It seems like someone has hacked into my server, and all of the pages for one of my domains are showing errors. Each page on my site is showing a PHP inclusion error, each file on my site is trying to include an unknown file /tmp/blah.php for example which doesn't exist on my site, therefore creating errors and not showing my site. I checked my site in ftp, it isn't in the code. So it is definitely in a server file somewhere. What could be doing this? Its for a single domain only, I've created the file it is trying to include as a temporary fix, I have checked php.ini and there seems no reference to the included file there.

Custom Error Pages On IIS6
My site is hosted on a friends server, which is in his office on a 24MB Business ADSL connection, and is running Server 2003 Enterprise. I thought i'd try and set up custom error pages for my site last night, but for whatever reason, I can't get them working. I did a test page with random text, and named it 404.htm. I then did a file with the following in: <Files .htaccess> order allow,deny deny from all </Files> ErrorDocument 404 /404.htm I then renamed the file to .htaccess after uploading both of the files. However, when I tried entering a non existant page url, the normal IIS 'page cannot be found' error came up. In addition, the .htaccess file was still visible when I connected via ftp again. Now I think of it, I can understand the file not ending up invisible, since files with a . in front are most commonly used on *nix OS's. However, that wouldn't explain the error page not working. Is there something I need to get the person who owns the server to do to get it working, or am I doing it completely the wrong way for a Windows machine? should have done a search before posting really.....I was doing it the wrong way, and I will need to get him to do it, as it needs setting up in the IIS config.

301 Redirect Of Many Pages On IIS
We have a situation where we want to rename about 550 HTML pages. In doing so, we want to 301 redirect the old pages to the new ones - best choice I believe? All: What is the easiest way to do this? We are running Microsoft IIS. I don't want to burden the system admin (not me) with having to a manual operation on 500 + pages. Also, the page names will be completely different. Awstats Inflates Pages Count
I've recently taken over the hosting of a large site and forum, and I want to use some for of statistics software of service so that I can determine how many unique visitors and pageviews the site and forum get (which can then be used when dealing with advertisers). I've been using Webalizer for years, but it's not been updated in over 5 years, so it's out. I then stumbled on Awstats, which works great, but... it doesn't calculate the pageviews correctly. At the present moment Awstats claims to have tracked approx. 2 million pageviews for the (vBulletin) forum. However, when I scroll down I notice that on number #1 in the "Pages URL Top 10" is image.php, which is used for avatars and is not a page! Now it appears Awstats has two ways of dealing with this: the "SkipFiles" option and the "NotPageList" option. The first (SkipFiles) drops whole URLs from the stats, which isn't what I want: I just don't want them to be counted as pages. The second (NotPageList) only accepts file extentions, not script names. This again isn't what I want: hits on showthread.php should still be counted as pages, only hits on image.php shouldn't be. The site has a similar problem where I don't want scripts like stylesheet.php, rss.php and xml.php from being counted as pages. My question: does anyone know a solution for this problem? Maybe a hack to allow "NotPageList" to accept script names and/or ULRs? Alternatively: does anyone know another statistics package that's about on par or better than Awstats that can do this (and that works on Linux/Unix with logs generated by lighttpd+php-fastcgi) and that is not too expensive (max $200)? Google Analytics isn't suitable for me (even though it would probably work well) because the site goes over 5 million pageviews/month and I don't have a Adwords account.

Illegal Characters In Php Pages
I have a cpanel 11 server with php 4.4.6 installed. my site use php scripts and one day even if the file was not edited, not touched at all , i get errors like Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ']' in /home/xxx/public_html/wp-includes/post.php on line 37 I checked and could find a lot of illeagal characters in my php file. See below. for post_status , it became post_statuó and edit_date became edit_date<8d>. If you read through the code, you can see a lot of illegal characters. This is why i get parse errors. I had to replace the file from backup and the issue fixed. But this problem continues to occur for more files and i can't find a reason for this. I Have Kloxo Runing in my Server , and i use Apache for handling php , and htaccess . From kloxo Panel under Extra , Error Handling . I made editing to where visitor will be taken when come to page not found , banned , ..etc The error 404 , 403,500 But won't work , it just take User to the Apache Test page instaed takes him to the Page i spicifed.. So i edited htaccess like ErrorDocument 403 forbid.php to try redierct the users to the error pages but got same reslut instaed takes them to the apache test page . I tried install Plesk and Try . [Apache] Anyway To Stop Bots Trying To Find Pages
Looking trough my logs I found something that bothers me, there are bots who keep doing requests on my website with pages like /admin or /secure to find vulnerabilities. It's making about 5-6 requests for unexisting pages every second until it comes to the end of it's dictionary (the pages are even sorted in alphabetical order, Is there some way to let my Apache server block access to these bots when they make X attemps to see a page who does not exists in a short amount of time? A bit like iptables reject connection if someone tries to log in but fails to do so too many times.

Our security comlience test got failed due to following reason Synopsis: The remote service encrypts traffic using a protocol with known weaknesses. Description: The remote service accepts connections encrypted using SSL 2.0, which reportedly suffers from several cryptographic flaws and has been deprecated for several years. An attacker may be able to exploit these issues to conduct man-in-the-middle attacks or decrypt communications between the affected service and clients. Solution: Consult the application's documentation to disable SSL 2.0 and use SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 instead. See for Apache. We have Cpanel RHEL server.
