View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of installing PPA on infrastructure running Parallels Cloud Server. Each container has 2 interfaces, one public facing and a private interface for inter-server communication.
No problems installing PPA 11.5 (specifying IP's on commandline) or adding service nodes however, the firewall rules the documentation speaks of are nowhere to be seen? i.e.:

Has this been dropped from PPA 11.5 ? (I recall seeing the firewall settings in 11.1) There is also no sign of the ppa.firewall tool that is also mentioned.
The only rule I see inserted is for Postgres on the management node, and 2 for pleskd on all of the nodes (open to world!).
I am trying to install Automation, and I keep getting an error after the "Getting SELinux" step, here is a log of the process so far:

I have tried running the installation on a different server and the same issue came up...
I am installing plesk automation on centos 6.5 using this command on a fresh system
./ppa_installer --password some_password --admin_email some_email
and get the following error.

Looks like some lib is not found in the mirrors.
On a clean install of CentOS 6.6 (Final) I did the following:
1. updated the /etc/hosts file to point my ip to the hostname
2. Open the ports in the iptables file.
3. ran the ppa_installer per the instructions on [URL] ....
The ppa_installer log says installed Successfully. However the following occurs:
1. Cannot browse to the url:8443, or any of the other variations (8080, 8880, https/http)
2. Yum installer is now broken (I replicated this twice). Yum will not run at all with the following error:
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was: /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4: file too short
Please install a package which provides this module, or verify that the module is installed correctly.It's possible that the above module doesn't match the

Whats ur take on Wired Tree folks, shall i jump the ship and provide them with utter bunny mayhem (cause i am known to be intolerably insane when my server is down). I'm looking to upgrade to an image only server and setup subdomain folders to split up the files. right now i have about 200k+ image files in just the public image folder... thats not counting the thumbnail folder, private folders etc...

I mean if the web server fails it doesnt do any good if you have 10 DNS servers. The only time it makes sense to me to run multiple DNS servers is if your DNS server is a piece of junk, and always goes down, which honestly doesnt happen that much.

We are interested in getting a new dedicated server with SoftLayer but they only offer Citrix XenServer 5. We really have not heard to much about people wanting to be on a XenServer VPS. If we are wrong about this whole XenServer thing please tell us because it seems like no one is using it really. XenServer looks like it has some really nice features but its just not worth investing in if its not popular enough. It appears most other hosting companies are selling Virtuozzo VPS. The Planet has a great deal on Virtuozzo License with cPanel (10 Virtuozzo License w/ cPanel = $110). Does anyone know where we can get a similar price and still get our server with SoftLayer.

After following the above guide, PIM became not available but clients were able to start their firewalls without any issues.
I made some changes and PIM and clients firewalls were fine but certain features in PIM are not functioning, as seen below;

Possible reasons
All compatible Hardware Nodes are offline.
No OS templates found.
Possible solutions
Try again and select another platform or Hardware Node.
Install at least one OS template for this platform.

There is 100's of templates and I was able to create containers before I made the iptable changes.
I have been in contact with Parallels but it seems they don't know how to solve it either as they haven't replied for almost 4 hours. (they were replying instantly until gave them the above)
