To Move A Subdomain/addon Domain To It's Own CPanel Account
Now that I am on a VPS, I have a handful of addon domains (linked to subdomains) that I want to move to individual Cpanel accounts.
Is there any shortcut to doing this (moving DB's, emails, etc.), or do I just need to create the cpanel account, recreate the emails, restore the DBs, etc.?

Addon & Subdomain On CPANEL
I got many complaints from our customer that are using addon domain facilites. They cannot add mail account, see site stats, etc. I checked on /var/cpanel/users, there's no domain for addon domain they have but DNS zone is still there. When I log in to their CPANEL, addon domain was still there too. Anyone have the same issues? We have this problem raised since about 2 weeks ago on 4 of our servers.

Cpanel AddOn Domains With Subdomains Automatically From Main Domain
Lets say I have abcd.com as the main domain on cpanel. abcd.com has 10 subdomains. Basically what I want to do is when I do an addon domain or parked domain I want the subdomains to basically point to abcd.com automatically. Let's say the addon/parked domain is 1234.com For example I have sub.abcd.com as the main subdomain so when I type in sub.1234.com I want it pointed to sub.abcd.com internally meaning the script/files from there however in the browser show as if it were sub.1234.com

Do Any Good Hosts Provide A CPanel That Keeps Addon Domain Lists In Order
I find that I like using CPanel with addon domains in a new unlimited domains shared plan rather than using WHM with each name having its own CPanel in a reseller plan (which I have been used to until now at another host). The only problem is that all the addon domains are out of order - they are not even in the order in which I add them. This puts a damper on things and makes managing them much less efficient than one would expect with the addons in order. After putting in a support ticket, I was told they can't do anything about it at all. They told me the order of the listing is the order in the "mail server apache configuration." After posting this matter here in the Apache forum, I have been informed by an SP member that the answer I got wouldn't hold any water at all, or more accurately, consists of a whole lot of smoke. As a person who knows how easy and basic it is to sort data lists or drop-down form selector fields myself, I must admit that it's hard to believe nothing can be done in the 21st century. I have no desire at all to go with another reseller plan, and like using CPanel instead with addons. Does anyone know of the good and well known unlimited domain hosting providers who keep the addon domains in order within CPanel? Is there any other good option for shared hosting that doesn't involve using WHM and does offer common sense multiple domain management where everything is in order?

CPanel- Separate Account For Subdomain
In an effort to install an SSL cert for a subdomain (secure.domain.com), I recreated my accounts in WHM. Account 1 has userA and domain domain.com, and Account 2 has userB and domain secure.domain.com. I think I have everything back to normal, but I want to get everything stable before testing the cert install. My question is, when visiting cpanel.domain.com, to enter the cpanel for that account, I am able to login with both userA and userB credentials, and the same when logging in to cpanel.secure.domain.com. As stated, I have separate WHM accounts for the main domain and the secure subdomain, I have dedicated an IP address for the secure subdomain, and the main domain uses the share IP address, and also, there are separate DNS zones setup for the secure subdomain and the main domain. How do I set it up so that only userA can login to cpanel.domain.com and only userB can login to cpanel.secure.domain.com? Or is this not an ideal setup, and if not, what would be the ideal setup here?

Do I Need To Move Files - Yahoo Subdomain
For those of you who are techies you will probably laugh, but to me this is like Greek and scarey The deal is that I blog for PayPerPost and after they implemented Real Rank only my main blog was able to be monitored for RR. I have 4 other blogs in the system that I can't take any assignments on because they have no real rank. The reason they don't is that the URLs are all the same as the first blog, except that the other 4 have "blog1, blog2, etc., at the end of their address. SO I went into my hosting control panel of Yahoo and created subdomains for each of the four, reversing the address from internetmarketingreview.org/blog1 to blog1.internetmarketingreview. org. (I thought I was pretty smart to do even that!) Now you can see my blogs at the addresses. I was really happy, that is until I realized that the permalinks won't work! Of course they won't. Nothing has been done but cosmetic changes. I am just now understanding that somewhere I am missing a step, I have been researching this and I believe I need to move some files, but I am afraid of screwing things up. I went to the Wordpress forum and found a permalink plugin from Yahoo, but I don't know if installing that will solve my problem. I have a pretty good idea that no, it won't. That too is about cosmetics, right?

Addon Domain
I have a domain with 2 addon domains added to it. Lets call the domain1.com and the addons are domain2.com and domain3.com I transfered the sites from one server to my server and know if I try to goto domain2.com or domain3.com they are not found. If I goto domain1.com/domain2 (or 3) it works just fine though. I tried to do the addon domain in cpanel but it is coming up with the following errors. Bind reloading on server using rndc zone: [domain1.com] The subdomain, domain2.domain1.com has been added. Error from park wrapper: domain2.com is already configured. Removed domain2.domain1.com Server at line: 1244. Removed Entry from httpd.conf Bind reloading on server using rndc zone: [domain1.com] The subdomain, domain2.domain1.com has been removed. domain2.com could not be setup. The subdomain domain2.domain1.com was not setup either. How can I fix this? I did try to make domain2 its own account after that, but the script did not work for some reason even though it does if I goto domain1.com/domain2. I know it must be something simple I am missing, but for the life of me I am drawing a blank. Also, I moved the site by doing a complete backup in Cpanel and uploaded that to the new server and restored it from the WHM backup screen.

Addon Domain
I currently have an established domain, mainsite.com, which is running PHP-Nuke on the directory /home, with a redirect accordingly. Now, I've created an addon domain, 2ndsite.com, for which I've installed Wordpress at the top-level. The trouble is, 2ndsite.com defaults to mainsite.com/home - unless I redirect 2ndsite.com to mainsite.com/2ndsite. If I do that, I can then see my WordPress installation. I'd obviously like to have 2ndsite.com be viewed from that address, as opposed to a subdir under mainsite.com - that is why I got the domain in the first place.

Restoring Accounts To Addon Domain

The shared hosting accont has Cpanel and I've added 2 Add-on domains (the same ones on the dedicated). In total, there are 3 domains under the shared hosting account; The main domain and the 2 other (add-on) domains. My question is it possible to restore these 2 accounts under a single cpanel account and having all the emails intact? So, in essence, I'm having a single cpanel account to manage the 2 domains to be transferred from the dedicated.

Addon Domains Vs Separate Domain Pros/cons
I'm trying to understand more the Pro's and Con's for having an Addon Domain vs Separate domain. Here's my use for it. Site1.com holds all the files, Site2.com holds all the video and images. When it comes time to add a second server (end of this year) I could move Site2.com to a second server and nfs mount it. Thats of the site is separate. PROBLEM: separate site means permission problems, when write code ie.php you can unlink / move files without permission which means setting up special groups. Addon domain doesn't have the permission problem from what I can see, since the domain gets the group access of the Mainsite. so no extra configuration required. now the problem would be how do I get that addon domain to a second server to offload some of the resources.

CPanel Addon Domains
I am not a reseller, but I currently use a reseller account to manage several separate sites of mine. I know that it is possible under a standard cPanel account to have addon domains, where the html files go in a subfolder of the main domain. If you do this: - is it possible for people to access the addon site files using www.maindomain/addondomain, and if so can you stop this? - do you still get separate email addresses and spamassassin settings for the addon domain? - do you get separate web server logs for each domain, for stats? - is there any other reason why it might still be better to pay more for a reseller account so that each site can be managed completely separately?

Hard Drive Failing, To Move A Account

I have a new drive in the tower as a slave already. I went into WHM and clicked in list accounts, the change partition button for a smaller account. That worked moving it from /home to /home2. However when I tried it with a larger account, it seemed to time out. I have all the clients moved accept one, who has a site with about 14 gigs of data. I think the command would be: mv /home/admin /home2/admin Is this correct, or is there a better way to do this? Also if I move it in SSH, will WHM list accounts auto update itself, or will I need to do something for that as well?

IP Address And Subdomain Missing On WHM Account List

Print screen attached. - Add proxy VirtualHost to httpd.conf to automatically redirect unconfigured cpanel, webmail, webdisk and whm subdomains to the correct port (requires mod_rewrite and mod_proxy) - Automatically create cpanel, webmail, webdisk and whm proxy subdomain DNS entries for new accounts. When this is initially enabled it will add appropriate proxy subdomain DNS entries to all existing accounts. (Use /scripts/proxydomains to reconfigure the DNS entries manually) - Allow users to create cpanel, webmail, webdisk and whm subdomains that override automatically generated proxy subdomains Those following configuration is ** set by default. I have never changing option in "tweak settings" after 1-20 automatic update to STABLE version since I tweaked the WHM from first time installed. Subdomain To Main Domain Moving

My primary domain has one page on it so i would like to: a) delete the one page on my primary domain b) Make the contents of my subdomain my primary domain. e.g my domain is www.info-peep.com, my sub will be example.info-peep.com........i would like to make example.info-peep.com : www.info-peep.com......that make sense, as really the sub will be my main site. Another thing to note is that i am using RVsitebuilder (WYSIWYG) that my web host provides. Also BEAR IN MIND the WYSIWYG editor does not allow me to move pages (sucks) or to copy the page contents.

Htaccess - Moving Site From Subdomain To New Domain
I have what I think is kind of a unique situation with a site move and Google is not turning up an answer that seems to work. My site is currently in this format: www.mydomain.com/site/file.html And I am "moving" it but also switching from html to php, so the same file would be found at: site.mydomain.com/file.php I want to redirect users going to the old pages to their equivalent on the new site, however this is a little bit of a problem because this is a normal subdomain - it is the same directory as before but now there are php versions of the html files. Right now I have all of the http files redirecting to their php equivilents, but I don't believe this is a desirable solution. Also it creates a problem when people go to www.mydomain.com/site (not indicating a specific file; just the subdir root) because I have www.mydomain.com/site/index.html redirecting to www.mydomain.com/site/index.php. Quite a mess. My first option is to put the redirects in the htaccess file on the "old" site. But is this a problem because there are over 500 pages on the site? Does it create a heavy server load because any requests force the server to serve a huge htaccess file? The next alternative seems the most preferable although I'm not sure how to do it. It seems it could use wildcards so that anyone going to *.html gets directed to *.php or something like that. The only problem is that there are a small number of files that were removed completely and do not have php equivilants (about 5 or 6) and would need to redirect to the index.php in the root

Can Other Hosted Sites Be Access Through Your Domain/subdomain
I'm using a shared host that provides good service and support, but there's one major issue I discovered recently: Other sites hosted on their server are accessible through my domains and subdomain. For example: Account2 on their server can be accessed through: [url] [url] Host says: "Because everything is Name-based, apache decides what directory is going to be used based upon the name that is provided. However, because the username is valid, it treats it as a vaild URL and redirects it to your site. There is no security issue, as this is just the way apache’s configuration works." Is it really normal? Does the same happen on all apache servers? I think SE's would treat the other pages as mine, no?
