Is there a way to backup Plesk and all configuration, databases, websites and restore to a new server with new IP's easily?
We want to move a Plesk installation from one host to our local data center where we will install Plesk locally. We are running Plesk on Virtuozzo at the current installation.
i want to move to a new server i have plesk on my current server and i'll have it on the new server i think, is there a feature in there that allows you to transfer information to the new server?
i think when i had cpanel the webhost manager allowed me to do this
I have 2 Plesk server and I want move everything from old server to new server. I can move my site downloading via ftp but how can I move my email message to new server? when I creating backup with backup manager I think everything is backed up but when I trying to restore that backup on new server I am getting invalid signature error and email message was not moved (only account created)
Is their any way to moved email message automatically? I checked on /var/lib/psa/dump and I see their many backup files created like apache file, conf, info, logs, vhost ?
We are migrating an existing multi-site Windows2003/IIS6 web hosting system with
CFusion8 MS Access backend databases SQL2000 backend databases http and https site access
to
Windows2012 R2/IIS8.5 with CFusion10 MS Access backend databases (not updated) SQL2014 databases http and https site access
On the new system we are looking to add Plesk12 to give users easier management of their own websites.I am about to install the trail version of Plesk12 WebHOST.I have the following questions:
1. Can we use the plesk migration tool to move the websites from the old IIS6 to the new IIS8.5 server? 2. If not, am I right to think we would migrate from IIS6 to IIS8.5 manually and then import these websites into Plesk12 from the new server? 3. Can I migrate the existing websites piecemeal over onto the new server and into the Plesk control panel at the same time as creating brand new websites under the control panel? 4. Once Plesk is installed on the new IIS server is there a KB article on how to add all these existing websites to Plesk - I could not find one. 5. Is the local windows administrator account used for the install used to run any services?
We are using a server with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Plesk 12. When installing plesk, the vhosts directory is automatically created in /var/www/vhosts . Our problem is that /var is on a 120 GB SSD drive. We would like to move it to /data, which is a 2 TB drive. Whenever we used:
This KB-Article [URL] .... (exits with errors) this third-party documentation [URL] .... (Which is from a user who has the exact same problem with the same paths) all we get is ERROR 403 on our demo site. The site was created before the move and we also tried to create it after the move. The Plesk installation is fresh out of the box. There were absolutely no changes to the installation. Even the domain default or server default pages will not load anymore.
unfortunately I can not move a customer to another reseller, because of this error:
"Einige der ausgewählten Kunden wurden nicht zu **** **** verschoben. Der ausgewählte Reseller besitzt nicht die Berechtigung 'Verwaltung der DNS-Zonen', aber einige der Kunden besitzen sie."
which means "Some of the selected customers could not be moved to **** ***. The selected reseller does not have permission to configure DNS-Zones, but some of the customers do."Well, the customer does not have this permission, because no DNS-service is installed on the server. If I check the customer's permissions there is no point "DNS configuration" or something like that.
I need move "Manual Move" all the email content from different domains.
For example i have the domain:
xxx3.com
with the emails:
info@xxx3.com sales@xxx3.com network@xxx3.com
I like know how i can move the email content from every email from one Panel to another Panel without the Transfer Manager. Because the account is created on the other server with different configurations, but i need backup only the old email.
Wordpress is becoming more and more integrated with Plesk which makes it quite easy to setup a new domain for someone and install Wordpress so he can start.
Often this Wordpress site has to be developed and a better looking site is already available.
By default Wordpress installs in a subfolder /wordpress (I know you can change it by choosing "custom install"). After a while that website is ready for publishing.
To move that website I will have to move the running site to a subfolder and then move the content of /wordpress to the root. This is not sufficient. I then have to do a search and replace on the /wordpress and wordpress/ and replace it with /
No problem there....
But then I have lost Wordpress from the Plesk interface.....
What's the most elegant way to move a Plesk managed Wordpress site?
I don't mind if it stays in its folder (maybe preferrable?), as long as the user doesn't see that "/wordpress" in its URL.
I want to move the data directory to another partition on all nodes. Apache (vhost), IIS (vhost), MySQL (databases) and Postfix (mailbox content). What's the correct way to do this without breaking functionality of PPA?
I'm going to be moving to a new server soon. Does anyone have a list, or recommended reading describing what one needs to do when moving to a new server?
I can't seem to find any info on this.. probably because i'm not wording it correctly
When I set up spamassassin to store spam in the spam folder of my mailbox, it doesn't add any X-Sapm headers nor tags the subject. All I found so far was an old thread where a plesk employee stated that it will be fixed in 'a' future version.
What is the fastest way to move all accounts from old servers to new servers with minimum downtime for customers' websites? Both servers are using WHM/Cpanel and i need to keep reseller priviledges and packages also, which system files should i copy to new server?
I've been with LayeredTech and my yearly renewal is up. Their pricing went up significantly, so I'm shopping at SoftLayer amongst others. My site gets roughly 700k unique visitors and 1.8 million pageviews. These numbers will likely go up. I run vBulletin and Joomla dbs. I have two identical servers (one has cPanel). They are configured:
The webserver uses Litespeed as an apache replacement.
Q: They are offering upgrades to either Xeon 5320 or 5335. Does anyone have a recommendation on either?
Q: I've heard that database servers don't necessarily need as much spec wise as webservers. Should I upgrade my webserver? Downgrade the mySQL server?
Unfortunately, I need to make this move today to get the pricing and put the wheels in motion, so I don't get billed by Layered Tech for 1 year of service.
I have purchaseed server hosting with with domain, now I want to move this site on another server I asked my old server administrator to give domain registration detail but he said he can't because there are lot more site he had registered from that account Can any one give me solution on this?
i have my own box for my forum .. now i shared my box with friend's , but in reall they a freak friend's , just to be in safe brother, am looking to know what function i can disable in php.ini or any problem/tool to prevent anybody / attacker * nobody* permission to move in the server via his shell script..
as we know some attacker's use them own php-shell to hack site's * shared hosting *, so they can move to any account after they know the user account name * /etc/passwd * .. so as i say before is there any good functions to prevent these attacker to move in the server? so i can disable it .. or install any good tool * else modsecurity * in the system to prevent them *nobody* of that?
How can I manually move a Xen VM from one box to the other as I cannot use the "Switch Server" option due to all memory and drive space being used up on the source box?
I was just wondering is it possible to move a directory to another server through SSH?
I bought a website a few weeks ago and I have all the files on the server except 30gb of content, now I've tried to put the folder into a tar archive but every time I try it brings up this error:
So I need a way to drag that folder from the old server to my new server through SSH because it will take me ages downloading and uploading all the content.
I'm a programmer at a company, and since I'm the only technical inclined person I have been given the responsibility of a "server" move - even though I'm a bit on the deep end here.
At the moment we have a shared hosting solution were we have our email and an ASP.NET application. We need better performance and thus we are moving to a dedicated server at ServerBeach.
I need to install our app at the dedicated server (that's the easy part), and then I need to setup Exchange Server (hard part) and then also obviously move the domain so it points at the new domain.
I have never ever installed Exchange on a server and I've heard it's a real PITA.
My checklist is this:
Install db Install app Make a redirect from the old server place to the new server Set up Exchange Server 2007 Point the domain to the new place.
I'm the process of reading a 172-page long guide from MS on how to installing Exchange 2007, but I'd be interested in hearing any hints and tips on this.
I got an idea that using r1soft CDP to move server, since it provides restoring data to a different server. But I never used it, not sure if it is doable.
Any one did this before? any requirements (software/hardware) for new server that will be moved in?
I have two dedicated server, and I want move a domain from one to the other.
Although I changed the name server 3 or 4 weeks ago, still some mails hit to old server (this can be checked after POP3 login with IP address of old server).
Most of mail reach to a new server but still some to old.
if this would be propagation problem with ISP or something wrong with DNS set up on the server?
Only just started designing sites for clients as an add-on to promotional work, all of which are on shared servers that clients have organised for themselves, so all we do is Ftp content to the servers when required. However, we now have a client who wants to use video on their site, which, I understand, requires a dedicated server if we do not want to use a video hosting service (is there a video hosting service that does not demand credit when the video is run?).
The move to a dedicated server is a step into the unknown for us. If we have a dedicated server, does this give us the potential to host other client sites on it? What should we be looking for in terms of bandwidth, transfer rates, etc? Can anyone recommend good video streaming software? What are the potential pitfalls?
to move 14 servers from one facility in the Westin Building to another. IPs are changing too.
Any nuggets of wisdom to share on things that I need to make sure happen for the move to be successful?
Here is my list so far:
- lower TTLs on A records in DNS to 600 seconds at least 24 hours before move. - prepare to update IPs in config files for each server for networking, firewall, email servers, apache configs andresolv.confs. - ensure backup MX is ready to handle the load.
