Master REselelr to allow reselelr to creat reseller
can this software work on CENTOS Enterprise 5.2 i686 on standard
and how can i install it
I have bought a Master Reseller recently.
I have some technical question in my mind regarding backup.
I will start step by step.
1) I login to the WHM.
2) I click to WHMreseller Master Resellers placed on the bottom of the left menu.
3) There I saw some options at the bottom , 'Migrate' , 'Backup' ,'Change Owner', 'IP Delegation'
4) I clicked on 'Backup'.
5) There I saw two check boxes:
Enable Weekly Automated FTP Backups
Enable Weekly Automated Local Backups (will only run if cpbackups are disabled by root)
My questions are very simple:
Q1) What these two check boxes mean ?
Q2) If i check 'Enable Weekly Automated FTP Backups' and save these settings then every week , back of my all cpanels including cpanels of reseller will be generated or wht?
Is it possible to purchase a VPS, add MANY ips, to reverse DNS, and a cpanel, to make a shell reseller effect? Using the ips as vhosts, cpanel to setup other shell accounts etc?
Also, does anyone know of a provider who sells many cheap IPs with VPS's?
Just asking, where should I usually install my boot loader:
/dev/sda - master boot record (MBR)
-- or --
/dev/sda1 - first sector of boot partition
My partition for /sda1/ is /boot 100MB
Logging in to cpanel using root password warned you that you had logged in using root privs and you got a nice drop down where you could jump to any account's cpanel.
After changing my root password, the first domain set up on that server gets the nice drop down, and indeed full rights, despite using it's normal password. I also don't see the warning message about using root privs.
So, somehow, the domain's account has gained ROOT cpanel privs. Where is this set?
I've four servers of them working as webserver and MySQL slave. and another one is MySQL Master server.
website seem to very sow when open any link which right to MySQL Master server. so i need to do Dua master with 2 slaves servers. any one can recommend me.
O.S. CentOS 4.4
Apache 2.0
MySQL 4.1
I'd like to run two servers, both will be using lxadmin and tinydns, what would be the best way to run a master/slave nameserver setup, and allow DNS updates to be transferred from the master to the slave?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to know more about dns servers (master2slave), is there any tutorials how can I do that? I have 10 servers now, do I need to buy 2 more only for DNS?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am thinking about install CSF firewall (without cPanel or any control Panel) in the master (the dedicated is virtualized with OpenVZ).
I no have services (only the OpenVZ panel to manage -hypervm-) and no extra services. Only for increase secutiry on master and avoid security problems-related.
Its recomendable to use any firewall in Master? Could be problematic on future?
I need to open the vps ports in use on master firewall?
I'm not too experienced with this, so I'm hoping someone more enlightened here can help.
Scenario:
I'm trying to build a social network site geared towards old people. I'm using LAMP environment. I want to have 1 mysql master (writes) and 2 mysql slaves (reads). Two web servers will read from the 2 mysql slaves and write to the one mysql master.
Questions:
My concern is this: when a user posts a comment via the webserver, the comment is written to the mysql master. I would like for him/her to see the comment he posted right away so they don't think something failed or went wrong. I'm afraid that replication to the mysql slaves will take some time to sync all of the mysql databases together. How can I work around this? Or am I mistaken and this doesn't actually happen?
How fast is replication? How can I mitigate this delay in replication to show the user instant results of their submission.
The same thing can apply to uploading photos to a user's profile.
Would anyone happen to know the commands to restore a master backup file via command line on a hypervm master node?

I have csf installed on my server and i need to open needed ports.
In 'Operations > DNS manager > Nameservers' the nameserver lists the hostname of the node as the nameserver. How do you specify or alter the nameserver to something different which would be more standard for example ns.domain.name?

I changed the DNS parameters of the default domain service plans to slave.
But where can I set the default master server, I didn't find it.
I have two VPS with two different Datacenters. I am running my website on one of the VPS which has Plesk Panel 11.5 installed on it. Since my second server is not in use, I would like to use it as a Secondary DNS Server for redundancy. I know this can be done with Plesk Expand. But, I am not in a position to invest further as I just run 4 domains on my main server. I was looking at installing some free control panel on my secondary VPS and set it up as a Secondary DNS Server if possible. But, I could not find any Guides on setting this up.
How I can do this? I see that we have an option in Plesk - 'Switch DNS Service mode' which can be used to either setup my first server as a Secondary or Primary. I have installed Webmin/Virtualmin on the second server, but how to set this up perfectly. I can reinstall the 2nd Server if required, but not my first one with Plesk.
Our partition become full and drop the vps, after that we are unable to start postifx, actually postfix start but master not.
So if I run :
/etc/init.d/postfix restart
Shutting down postfix: [FAILED]
Starting postfix: [ OK ]
/etc/init.d/postfix status
master is stopped
I already try to reconfigure all
/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/mailmng-service --start-service --mail-component=all
Into ToolsSettings i change between qmail and come back again to postfix (reinstalling)...
I've been trying to configure Plesk as a hidden (super) master for a domain and I've run into some problems.
First off, for those who don't know, a hidden master is a nameserver that is actually the master server, yet does not list in the NS records of the domain.
The servers listed as NS in the zone have accepted the server as their master, but the rest of the world does not know it exists. Hence the term hidden master. The slaves consist of two PowerDNS servers that acknowledge the Plesk server as a supermaster, thus enabling automatic zone configuration and the like upon receiving a notify from the Plesk server.
However, the Plesk server refuses to send automatic notify messages to the slaves (listed in the NS records, also added to the ACL / transfer restrictions template). When requesting an AXFR by hand the Plesk server happily transfers the requested zone to the PowerDNS slaves, but upon changing the zone files through the Plesk panel's DNS management system, no notify goes out to the slaves, which thus don't know anything has changed. I've tried adding an also-notify clause to named.conf (which was suggested elsewhere), but it appears Plesk overwrites the entire named.conf upon zone changes, thus erasing the also-notify clause, subsequently refusing to send out a notify.
Further research into the workings of Bind (the nameserver used by Plesk in this setup) suggests that, by default, it should send notify messages to all servers listed in the NS records part of a given zone. This is clearly not the case in this particular setup, but I can't seem to find where exactly notify messages have been disabled (there is no mention of notify in named.conf).
My questions therefore are:
1) Why doesn't Plesk / Bind send automatic notify messages to its slaves, which is the default behavior of Bind? Where and how has this been disabled?
2) Should 1 turn out to be impossible to fix, how do I override named.conf on a per-domain basis?
today i get a vps from lime, and i try to create a vps

How to get plesk (12) to set the SOA record properly on existing domains?
Let me explain the issue first. We use PowerDNS supermaster mode as slave servers. The way this works is we configure PowerDNS so that it sees the plesk server as a so called supermaster.
When a so called supermaster notifies the slave servers on a zone update, if it doesn't exist it just adds the zone and pulls it in. This works very nice and without any scripting required (there's only the issue of removing them, I just have a script that deletes all domains that haven't been able to update in 2 weeks every day from the database).
The only issue here is that BIND does *NOT* ever notify the nameserver listed in the SOA. The nameserver listed in the SOA should be the master (and hence - thus plesk itself) and it being a master it should be where the changes occur and notifying it isn't necessary thus, which is why BIND doesn't do that.
Unfortunately plesk doesn't seem to grasp this concept. It will happily put any nameserver in the SOA record. Have adjusted the template and it seems to work ok for new domains now (not sure how reliably though), but it's a major pain for the existing ones. It's very hard to update them properly.
Reapplying template -> no change to master NS/SOA
Switching mode to slave and back to master -> no change to master NS/SOA
Resetting to default -> no change to master NS/SOA
The only way I've found so far is to delete the records manually, add them again and hope it doesn't change the order (yes it does this a lot, you'll have the correct order listed, click apply and the order just changes. Some times it adds them to the bottom of the list, some times to the top - not confusing at all).
Plesk really should be taught that if it's master, it should be the one in the SOA. Whilst my issue is larger due to the supermaster and slaves not creating the zone (and hence my slave not functioning), it is an issue in any setup because a slave listed as SOA will not be notified and doesn't pick up on the changes right away. Depending on the refresh times it might take quite some time for the slave to pick up the change then, which isn't desirable either as it will leave you with a slave that still returns incorrect records.
I have several domains configured in my Plesk, and one of them is set as the "Detault site" under Home >> Tools & Setings > IP address management. This has the unpleasant side effect that any domain I point to this IP renders content from the Default site unless it's setup. How can I configure the default site to render content from only one domain?
