View 8 RepliesI want to install a email newsletter script like SendStudio or 1 2 All [url], to serve my current clients but i im not sure of wich server to choose.
Wich are the most important hardware specs (Processor / RAM / Harddrive) to andle a PHP / MySql Email Script sending 1 milion emails / moth.
Will a Pentium 4 / 1Gb RAM / SATA Hard Drive do the job?
Or do i need a High End Server with Xeon Processor / 4Gb Ram / SAS Hard Drives?
I wanted to know wich hardware parts/specs are most important when running a php newsletter script like Interspire Email Marketer [url] or Omnistar Mailer (www.omnistarmailer.com/).
So im looking for a server that as to be able to have between 50 to 200 diferent emails clients, each one sending 20.000 to 80.000 emails / moth.
Based on my needs wich will be the adequate choice?
Server 1:
CPU: P4 2.8Ghz HT
RAM: 1GB
HDD: 2 x 80GB HDD SATA
Server 2:
CPU: 1 x Intel XEON DUAL-CORE 3075 [2.66GHz/4MB/1333MHz FSB]
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 2 x 250GB SATAII HDD
Server 3:
CPU: 2 x Dual Core Xeon 5110/4MB cache
RAM: 4GB
HDD: 2 x 73GB SAS - 10K RPM [RAID 10]
More Questions regarding hosting details:
a) In terms on CPU, do i need require P4, Xeon or 4Core Xeon?
b) In terms on RAM, will i need 1, 2, 4, or more Gb?
c) In terms on Hard Drive, i will be just fine using SATA or do i need faster, like SAS, 10k Raptor?
We are currently hosting with a shared hosting provider for our web/email needs and are looking to upgrade to a dedicated server that can scale our bulk email requirement (not spam).
We usually need to send out about 25K emails a day. Since we require the convenience of sending out emails from the individual Outlook clients and multiple people might be sending out the emails, we are thinking that a dedicated server might suit our needs better. Our web traffic very minimal and the load is primarily on email handling.
I want to send bulk emails. I need a webhosting that can send 1 million emails in one go. It should have a static IP and should be cost effective. I have low budget.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble finding a hosting company that will let me send out bulk mail to my single opt-in (and CAN-SPAM compliant) list of 500,000+ subscribers.
Could anyone here recommend a hosting company that would be able to handle that? I put in a request through WHT's quote request form, but haven't gotten any replies to my query.
I know that there must be a host out there who is willing to let me do it, I just need to find it...
BTW, the list is scrubbed, and I will make every attempt to keep the IP's 100% clean, as I have a vested interest in making sure that my deliverability is high, so it's not like I'm going to "spam and run"...
I've made some newsletter scripts for a bunch of mailing lists I distribute.
Should I be able to use a standard shared host / vps for this ? (About 80k subscribers at the moment)
We have a site with about 50,000 members.
Now we want to send newsletters to each of our site members.
If we use the normal "mail" command in PHP, it will create a heavy load for the server so that after sending the email, because of the heavy traffic which gets created on the server, the email will either not be send or it can take up to one week till it gets send out.
Is there any better and easier procedure or method for sending these types of emails?
I have a newsletter site with more than 200,000 opt-in subscribers. Here are my concerns:
I don't want to host with a black-listed server which will prevent many of my mails from reaching the subscribers.
I don't want my database stolen by a disreputable host.
I don't want to pay very much.
We're currently trying to create a HTML newsletter (weekly) for our vBulletin members.
We have roughly 120,000 members subscribed to the newsletter we want to send out.
What is the best solution for this many subscribers? PHPList is efficient but many issues with HTML, and poMMo does not handle a list that large very well (even though they advertise it does).
We have a large dedicated server, so resources are not a problem.
My current VPS has told me that sending 10000 emails using a newsletter system is not possible in a VPS environment, it seems i cant send over 200 at one time without numfile errors and exim bugging out, is this to be expected? They have told me i need a dedicated server that is highly tuned which to be honest sounds like overkill to me. Should i expect this from all VPS providers ?
(I wont mention my VPS provider as they have been very helpful in all other ways and it may be that they are completely right and i do not wish to affect their reputation here)
I have buy the Interspire Email Marketer 5.0 [url].
So now i want to ressel multiple accounts to my clients, so that they can sen their own newsletters.
1- So wich hosting plan ( VPS or Dedicated Server) should be best for hosting a newsletter script to send over 1 milion emails for moth?
2- What should i look when choosing a hosting plan, like for example bandwith, number of ipīs, etc...
Got a few questions regarding sending out mass emails. First of all, I have a client that has a double opt-in newsletter that he sends out every other month. The newsletter has over 50,000k subscribers. I was wondering what precautions need to be taken when managing a newsletter of this size.
1) Does he need to send it from a different domain name? If his site is blah.com should he send the mass newsletter from blahnewsletter.com instead?
2) Should the newsletter be sent from a different IP address than the site is hosted on?
3) How do domains / ip addresses / email addresses end up on black lists, and if he does get blacklisted, what consequences would this have on his site, personal email address, server, etc.
Assuming you were given the task of managing a newsletter of this size, how would you set it up as to avoid unwanted consequences?
i just open a small company for advertising, beside i will make email adviertising campaign, so what i can do for it? i want to know the best way to send this bulk email, the number of emails what i have arround 500000 emails .
