View 9 Repliesis there a host that lets me add on as many unique ip as i want for extra cost?
for example, i want to test out several prototype .com sites on the same server. however, i want a unique ip for each site.
If I setup an pop3 account from my server in Gmail, Gmail returns:
Failed to get the mail.
The server returned the error
"Cannot assign requested address"

I have a Windows VPS with Solarvps.com and I am satisfied....Now I want to access paypal account through Remote Desktop...I have multiple paypal account and want to login always with a specific IP address to specific paypal account..
My question is IS there a short way or a software which can change my servers IP address..Coz changing the whole settings is a tiresome process..
How can I use:
ns1.domain.com
ns2.domain.com
both with the same IP?
I figured out that since they are both hosted on one server it doesn't really matter if it'll be 2 different IPs or a single one so I decided to be more economic
Only thing is that through Cpanel (Networking Setup -> Nameserver IPs) I can't add two nameservers with the same IP...
I'm trying to figure out how I would host 20 or so websites using one static IP address and 2 servers, on a network behind a router.
I think I have edit the Apache config files, but that's driving me crazy. Is there any other easier way?
I currently host my own website with windows server 2003, it is a long ip address. I use a DNS redirector service to make it a real domain name. I was wondering if I can host more than one website?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dedicated server hosted in some data center. The server provider has provided me an IP address. I have bought a a domain name which redirects the traffic to that IP.
I have not been provided with any nameserver.
My question is is it possible that I register multiple domain names against the same IP address? If yes how?
i just had a simple question about wether there is any difference between getting a VPS plan (like that from jumpline) and a shared plan (like that from hostgator) for the purposes of hosting multiple domains.
It seems that for vps I have to create a "subdirectory" to create a new account for domain name. Plus the emails are all the same (so for example if I create joe@domain1.com and I have domain2.com registerd, joe@domain2.com will also work with the same username password).
On the shared side of things - I also do not get a very high level of isolation. Not like with reseller WHM package anyways. BUT the resellers lack the basic ssh access (at least the most favourables I looked at).
So i was wandering if anyone out there who is doing small-time part work and sells personal/business websites to clients knows which way is it better to go.
To get a VPS account and keep on creating subdirectories for each separate client (and hope they don't use the "other" domain names in the emails)
OR
get the shared account that allows unlimited domans
OR
something else.
I also forgot to mention that my budget does not extend beyond $20/month.
I have a VPS hosting and have two IPs. Can I create multiple accounts using a shared IP in WHM?
I created but the page always showed failed
"Account Creation Status: failed (Your system has run out of avaiable ip addresses, or you do not have permission to use any more ip addresses. (Unable to find an ip address.) )"
I run several sites and am wanting to setup several more. Currently I have two shared plans, but I don't like how the add-on domains are affected by the main domain (e.g. addon.main.com on 4## and 5## pages).
Is going reseller the easiest way for me to have these domains not affected by each other (a separate cpanel each)?
Finally, I don't use a lot of resources so are there actually reseller plans out there with lower prices (and lower resources too).
i have soon to be very busy site. it's a simple "school grade" searching website. giving your identification code and returning your exam grade. i try to put a dedicated server and within 5 min it hung. it was last year.
this year i try to put to 3 or 4 shared hosting and do a round robin dns. but the problem is 85% traffic is from the same ISP and it will cache the dns result.
I recently got a new hosting plan, and I'm wondering what the best way to redirect a Dyndns.org domain is. I'm currently hosting a small site on my old server, which I have httpd.conf access to, using a Dyndns.org address. I'd like to have the Dyndns.org point to my new server at DTH, but it seems that the Dyndns.org system isn't compatible with a shared hosting environment. So, my question is, what's the most seamless way I could make a Dyndns.org address point to a folder or subdomain on a shared hosting account? I considered pointing the Dyndns.org domain directly to the IP, but that wouldn't redirect to the specific folder that the site would be in.
I'd really like to keep the dyndns.org address the same in search engines if possible.
If I issue a 301 "Permanent Move" code, will the search engines update with the new address. If this is too hard, maybe it would be better if I let go of the old address and just setup a redirect to retain my traffic.
Has anyone done a benchmark of test files for multiple unmeetered hosts during peak hours?
I have a 100mbit server at ThePlanet i could use for benchmarking. I could write a simple benchmark program to record the time+speed of a list of shared bw test files.
I'll have it sample each host for 10sec every hour. With that we can make a speed/time graph for each host.
My server is in TX on a shared line but not unlimited BW.
It would be nice if we can get some benchmarks from other data centers.
Would this reflect actual speeds?
whenever I open a new account in Cpanel it assigns a new IP to the new host. I want to know how I can change the cpanel settings to assigns a shared IP to the new host.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm setting up a cPanel server and have an initial 5 IPs with the server. By default, it assigned two IPs to the nameservers, but I'm getting a bit confused as to best practice policies. Is it a bad idea to have your nameserver IPs being used for accounts?
I imagine the answer is yes, it is a bad idea, as I've not seen it done by others. I would guess the biggest reason would be that you wouldn't want a bad acocunt to get the IP blocked.
I'd like to hear opinions on the matter, as cPanel seems to be set up to automatically assign the first IP available to both the default account IP and the first nameserver.
I've dozens of domains which don't have heavy traffic. I wanna host them on different IP's for SEO reason. I can share IP's with other users but evch domain of mine shall be hosted on a unique IP.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm using cPanel, and I'd like to change the IP address of all domains hosted on my server. When I click the "Edit DNS Zone" link in WHM, the IP address of all accounts is wrong. Do I have to change it manually for all of them?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are looking for a solution to support multible IP's for different domains in one subscription/cusomer Account. Current, we have 4 IP's as shared. the Customer can choose under "Web Hosting Access" , which IP he wants to use.
This setting effect all domains in his Account. So it is not possible to set domain1.tld to e.g. IP 1.1.1.1 and domain2.tld e.g. to 2.2.2.2
We like to offer the cusomers one cusomer account with multible IP's
I am using Windows Server 2008 R2 with Plesk 12.0.18 Update #25 with single IP address assigned to the server.
Is it possible to do the following with only 1 IP address:
-Host 4 shared hosting websites on the same IP but also use the same IP address to install and setup a shared SSL Cert. for hostname AND for 1 of 4 hosted websites ...
For some reason my FTP accounts aren't being assigned an IP address.
I thought it would happen automatically when I created accounts.
Has this happened to anybody else?
I want to know how do I add new IP to my server via SSH command?
I am using cPanel and I am aware I can do that inside WHM but the problem now is I have just changed my server IP and my cPanel license IP is not updated yet. It shows me "Invalid License" when I login.
I also want to know how can I assign the new IP manually via SSH?
I'm running centOS 5 and I have a java process, it runs from the main IP. The Java process communicates with an external server, this server only allows 2 connections per IP. I have this process running twice on the main IP, therefore using both the single IP connections. My server has multiple IPs and I want to run another copy of this java process from another IP.
