I'm running centOS 5 and I have a java process, it runs from the main IP. The Java process communicates with an external server, this server only allows 2 connections per IP. I have this process running twice on the main IP, therefore using both the single IP connections. My server has multiple IPs and I want to run another copy of this java process from another IP.

For some reason my FTP accounts aren't being assigned an IP address.
I thought it would happen automatically when I created accounts.
Has this happened to anybody else?
I want to know how do I add new IP to my server via SSH command?
I am using cPanel and I am aware I can do that inside WHM but the problem now is I have just changed my server IP and my cPanel license IP is not updated yet. It shows me "Invalid License" when I login.
I also want to know how can I assign the new IP manually via SSH?
i have been fumbling around trying to set up a first site on a fresh install of debian on a server... seems like helplessly for hours and hours, trying to figure out how this ftpd works with debian
there are only 2 files from what i see on the server
ftpchroot and ftpusers - i fianlly found the manual 'man ftpd' this helped a little...
i found this in another thread, to maybe help with adding a user, does not work in my setup...
adduser --home /home/username --shell /bin/false username (how do i remove this user that does not work?)
my server path to sites is this
/home/www/html/websitename.com/html
what do i need to do to get ftp to actually work?
finally after spending all night getting proftpd working correctly on a new test box.
im struggerling with ftp folder permissions though.
could somone tell me or show me how to allocate a user to a certain folder....
for example ive added the username apple to ftp and when user apple logs in I want him to see the apple folder as his home folder and access to everything in apple.
i thought it was... useradd -h /home/userarea/apple apple but it doesnt seem to work.
If im on a vps when i create reseller account how to assign dedicated ip? the ip is must buy from my vps provider so i can give out extra or?

I've created a database through SSH and give it a user so no problem.
But when i came back in Plesk Panel i don't see this database connected to the domain i want.
So how can i do to "indicate" my server this database must be going with this domain ?
Can I configure a maximum size for this file?
I have had to wipe it out a few times because it's been getting larger than 4GB
I need to create a subfolder under my domain name, and assign an ftp user to that folder. I want the user to only have access to that folder, is it possible? can you guys orient me, because I have no idea where to start, my hosting service provider is telling me I can only have one ftp account per domain, maybe I didn't explain correctly to my hosting provider.

For one of may domains I'm receiving the following error when someone tries to send mail to it. Also I never receive the mail as it seems to just sit on the server. When the permission were changed on the file, it seemed to have changed back on its on when ever a new address is added. Any solutions?

View 0 Replies View RelatedI've a jsp web search engine running on Windows, Apache 2.0.59 and Tomcat 5.5.17 using Mod_jk, db is MySQL 4.1.22. The App was running fine on the previous server until I switched to this new dedicated server.
I'm getting an error (check error.txt attached) on every search. Also attached is the log file (log.txt).
Last time this happened, I reinstalled mysql and it worked, but it isnt working this time no matter what I do.

Have Plesk 12 in Centos...all working fine...but I have assigned dedicated IP for one domain, have request certificate (as admin) for this domain, purchase certificate in Comodo and installed...this certificate working fine and SSL Checker is good...problem is in domain how have assigned this certificate in menu SSL not appear...
