Windows VPS - Run WAPT To Stress Test/load Check

Oct 24, 2008

I am looking for a Windows VPS, preferably inexpensive, but the primary goal is to have a fast pipe to it and be capable of running the WAPT windows load testing tool [url]

I currently have a Zone VPS, and have looked using http_load, or siege from it, but they don't appear to be anywhere near as full featured ad WAPT.

I need to run the tests against both a corportate website to see what our current capacity is, and want to make sure I am not bandwidth limited, as would be the case if I was testing via a T1 or DSL connection, hence the reason for wanting a Windows VPS on a thick pipe that I can run the tests on.

Now, I was wondering if there are any SQL database benchmarks, or something else I can run on the system for a given period of time, that will let me see if I'm still having those power issues.

How To Check Load Via Ssh And Check Files Causing Load

Jul 1, 2009

I would like to know how to check load via ssh and check files causing load?

I want the ssh codes for 2 different set of control panels, one with cpanel+whm and other with kloxo+hypervm

and I would also know how to check the files causing the load, such as some files could have been interrupted while processing, so they could be causing load some times, so I want to stop such processes if any are running on the vps on my friends accounts

VPS NODE Stress Testing...

Apr 1, 2009

I want to know if there is a set of tools or a linux distro that I can use to create several Virtual Machines and make them use up all their allocated Memory/CPU to the max to see how much the VPS Node will hold.

I do this on Windows easily as I overclock my PC at home. But in linux, no idea. I need something that will do iterations like Prime95 or SuperPI.

Stress Testing VPSes

Mar 14, 2008

I've been playing with hyperVM lately and was wondering what tools all you computer geeks use to stress test your VPSes.

Right now I'm testing out Xen VPSes, Linux AND Windows.

Can some people recommend some tools to stress test reliability of the VPSes on both linux and windows?

Windows seems a little flaky to me on Xen unless I'm doing something wrong.

Stress tests based on a hosting environment would be perfect.

Stress Testing A PHP Application

Was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of stress testing a site? We have a PHP application (Apache + Mysql) that searches a database and displays a screen of results.

Each screen is different per user. We might have something like a few thousand people at any one time coming to the site and using it, so I was wondering how people normally go about testing for load, cpu, memory usage etc?

2mhost.com - Web Stress Testing To Use Up Bandwidth Quota?

May 17, 2008

I was just curious as to whether anyone has ever came across a situation where your monthly bandwidth/transfer quota is being consumed at an exponential rate without any increase of traffic to the site?

My current situation is this.

I have an account 2mhost and a monthly bandwidth transfer quota of 100,000 MB. For the past few months it's been steadily growing. When I first transfered the site to this host their cheapest package quota wasnt sufficient and I ended up with a bandwidth overage error page on my site, so I had to upgrade. In doing so I've always ended the month just shy of 80% total quota.

My problem is that it's only the 17th, and a few days ago i was at about 32%, now im at 51% with no increase of pageviews. Looking into awestats shows the alexandria2.2mhost.com using 30 gigs!! I questioned the tech support via live chat and they said it was wordpress accessing the images. So I downloaded the raw access logs and noticed that Every few seconds the server ip would make a request to a dozen or so images, each image being requested 3 times.

here's a portion of the log: ....

Windows Services Load Order

Jun 8, 2007

The onboard NICs on one our machines have become faulty, but due to their being no spare card slots on the server - a USB NIC has been used as a replacement.

This was fine, until the machine had to be reset - and on reboot MS SQL and Merak both failed - the reason being they load up *before* the USB driver kicks in for the nic (MS SQL for example tries to start, cannot listen on the IP then fails - Merak loads up, but doesn't bind -- even after the card comes up).

So my question is, is there a way to make the USB drivers load up first, or somehow put a delay on MS SQL and Merak?

MYSQL doesn't seem to be affected .... but that could just be fluke...

Check in the browser console an it shows - Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error). So i think it would be a file permission issue. I'd check in ftp their file permission and it shows XXX. Tried to change it to 644 for files and 755 for folders but no luck. Tried to change it via file manager still the same. I'm thinking this is causing the problem or some other else.

Website Extremely Slow To Load/doesn't Load (numtcpsock)

Dec 20, 2007

I've been having trouble with my VPS for a while now. In the QoS alerts page in Virtuozzo it seems to be a problem with numtcpsock and tcprcvbuf, mainly numtcpsock.

Copy these into the browser:
i18.photobucket.com/albums/b106/gnatfish/qosnumtcpsock2.jpg

And when i run cat /proc/user_beancounters:

i18.photobucket.com/albums/b106/gnatfish/beancounters2.jpg

This line is particularly scary:
numtcpsock 164 164 166 166 7321

What do i need to do, to get the website running again? It's only one site on the vps a proxy. So i thought a vps would be able to handle one proxy.

VPS Test

Nov 25, 2007

I have 2 VPS in 2 differents networks. One of these 2 VPS have a WHM/Cpanel load time very high to me. I already contact with my hostiing company support and I told the problem. Support saied that the problem is with my ISP connection. I agree that is possible my ISP issue, but I already test with 3 ISP connections diferents.

So I would like a help to test it. I am creating 2 dummys reseller accounts in my 2 VPSs and I inform the WHM login details here. So I would like that you access both WHMs and try to create a new account and tell me the time to finish the creation process.

From my end one account takes around 90 sec and other take onlu 13 sec.

how much time do you give in creation account on the followinf 2 dummys accounts?

Some Sites Load Slow, Some Sites Load Fine, Server Load Is Fine

Aug 12, 2008

I'm having the oddest issue. For some reason, some of the websites on my server load fine, and some take a really long time to load (2 minutes).

Now, the server load is fine, and the size of the sites aren't the issue either. I've restarted Apache and a couple more services, and still the same sites seem to load very slow.

What could be causing this since it's only effecting certain websites?
