I'm not to familiar with making a web pages so I need some help. I would like to start a web page in Southern America so I can advertise I guess on there "domain" or host country( I'm not even sure if that is what it is called.) I basically want to have a Southern American web site where they can find it in there directory or if it were googled in South America they could find it.
I was wondering if anyone knew a cheap colo that is in Southern California. I am hoping to be paying under $150 month (if possible) but no more than $200 month and I need something that allows atleast 3-4 TB of transfer/month (More would be a big plus).
I currently get colo for free with the company I work for but I won't be with them forever and I would like to have a backup plan if I have to ever move my server somewhere else.
Northern california and other places near socal (arizona, etc...) *might* be ok but I would really prefer somewhere that I can drive to if need be.
The server is a regular 1U server with two HD's with a conroe based xeon 2.4 GHz dual core processor. Its power consumption shouldn't be that high.
To be honest I would love to have it colo'd at a place like fdcservers.net as I had a really good experience with the 1.5 years or so I had a dedicated server with them before getting free colo at work but the one thing I didn't like was its in Chicago so latency is high (I like to run game-servers).
I don't have much experience with co-location although I have used a lot of dedicated servers so finding a dedicated provider isn't usually a problem for me.
Does anyone own/operate or work at a datacenter in Southern California (Riverside County). I am looking for a place to possibly colo at and even work at, I just havent found any Southern California Data Centers besides La and San Diego, and I do not really want to drive to either. Also if anyone has wanted to start one in that area but hasnt found a partner, let me know, I may be interested in getting in on a deal with someone.
The company that I work for in the recent year has made a few acquisitions. Doing so, means we now have clients all over the place, to be specific in multiple datacenters. We are now going to consolidate all of our servers into one location. The decision might have already been made but I would like to get some feedback. These are the top choices that our company was deciding on:
Savvis Irvine (OC2) Savvis El Segundo XO in irvine (hosting.com now actually) ATT in irvine (we already have servers in this one)
Some of the datacenters we are in now:
ATT in Irvine (not bad) Quest in Burbank CorpColo (no comment) Calpop (scary!) Blacksun/OC3 (scarier than calpop) And a few others I cannot remember. Regardless I believe this will be a big upgrade. So whatever information you can give me on the above four datacenters would be appreciated. Maybe if you know of any other top-notch datacenters in southern cali, let me know.
provider to colocate my mid-size tower (not rackmount) somewhere in Orange County, CA. The uses will mainly be for web serving but also some game servers as well.
Most of my traffic is in South America (argentina). I need a VPS with lots of cheap (500GB-700GB) bandwidth available, plus maybe 1-2GB of RAM. Having a VPS as close to Argentina as possible might work well.
Anyone have any recommendations with a good country to host our web sites which is outside of USA/Canada? We have tried Signapore and Hong Kong and both have had a lot of problems when we get spikes in traffic...
I'm one of the Layeredtech "future refugees" looking for a new hosting. I have a AMD Athlon 3000+ 1GB RAM + 2 160GB HDD's and last week I started looking at LT specials to upgrade our server (1 website only, huge traffic). I'm glad that I got the "Price Hike" increase before :-)
After looking at all the posts in the forum about unmanaged providers I really like the prices and reputation of Hivelocity, but I'm not so sure about the speed of their network.
The website is in Spanish (I'm from Spain), and we got 50% of our visitors from Spain, 45% from South America and the rest from all over the world. I tried their download tests and they were slower than LT (from Spain), with the pings 20/30% higher and the traceroute has like 5 more hops.
Any experiences from European/South American customers of Hivelocity?
I am currently renting a dedicated server in North America with the following specs:
Processor : INTEL Core2Duo E6400 Memory : 2048MB RAM Standard Bandwidth : 10Mbps Unmetered Bandwidth Control Panel :PLESK 8.3
I would like something similar, but in the UK (or near by), and closely priced to what I pay now.
For the complete package above, I pay $250/month.
Does anyone know of a great service across the ocean which has similar services, for a great price? I don't need the full 10mbit line, a 5mbit line would suit my needs. I would prefer Plesk, and at least 2048MB of ram. The processor should be comparative.
My website is 100% Vbulletin, and is quite large in size (hence the server requirements).
I'm the proprietor of a high-bandwidth site, and obviously, it's important to me to get the cheapest bandwidth possible. I've looked around, and it seems like European web hosts provide cheaper prices than North American hosts.
However, most of my users are in North America. Will a server in Europe be able to deliver the full available bandwidth to users in the US? If not, how much of it should I expect?
I have a problem with my server. I am trying to make a subdomain, and it isn't working. I create it like how in all tutorials says here( click here ) . I completed all fields, but when i try to open the subdomain in a browser page, it's telling me, page not found / page doesn't exist. I have a dedicated server on window server 2008 for my website with a dedicated IP.
Right now my stats system only shows from what website traffic is coming. I have google analytics aswell, and with all its functions, it does not tell me from exactly what webpage traffic is coming, and to what webpage the traffic is coming to.
So, let say someone is sending me traffic from www.reffererxxx.com/cool_video.html to www.mysite.com/super_cool_video.html
My statistics would only show that www.reffererxxx.com is sending traffic to www.mysite.com
Is there a way(a script/service/program) to find out exactly from what webpage the traffic is coming, and to what webpage of mine the traffic is going to? (I do not have server logs / webalizer / awstats as my server cannot handle the log processing due to high server loads)
I'm running shared hosting and would like to keep the amount kept in cache down so that there is always more memory free... how would i go about doing that?
I always presumed the Expires: date is part of the page cache instructions, however I was told its to do with the cookie. I thought the cookie expire was set as expires=date in the set cookie line and not on a new line with the :
i have cpanel and when i suspend anysite i got Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage i suppose to see the suspend page but i can't see it and i want to know what's worng here
Webhostingbuzz.com has been in the web hosting market for a long while and they have many positive feedbacks. In my opinion they are a realiable company with a large client database.
I created the subdomain for my site www.mysite/myclientpotentialdomain, with the only purpose to show my client the mock up of his home page using his potential domain name. The file is named index.htm and consist only the mock up image.
The problem that I encountered is when I refresh the browser (Firefox) the image disappears. I can see the alt tag, but the picture is gone. Works fine in IE though. The only difference I have noticed that after the refreshment,
I have configured a custom 500.100 Error for one of my web sites in IIS 6.0. However, the custom error page appears nested within the HTML of the page throwing the error, at the point the error occurs.
This is problematic as live errors are being overlooked when they appear late in the script as the majority of the page outputs normally.
On my development server IIS 5.1 this does not happen. The Custom Error Page is shown as its own page. The errors cannot go unnoticed.
How can I change IIS 6.0's Customer Error to behave like my development server, and do it just for the one web site concerned?
