Plesk 12.x / Linux :: External Access - Diverting To Default Page

Jun 2, 2015

I am currently unable to access the Plesk control panel except from the web server itself. When I try any of the following options, all work on the server itself but externally all I get is the default Tomcat page.

https://server_name:8443
https://anydomain.com:8443
https://local_ip_address:8443
https://external_ip_address:8443

I don't know if the problem is on the server itself or something within our firewall - we use Microsoft Forefront TMG. The port 8443 is open, and the Tomcat page is being served. All websites working fine, both internally and externally. The server itself is in a DMZ on the network.

The server is running Centos 7 with Plesk 12.

I just noticed that when adding a new domain, I am warned that the domain resolves to another IP address - the external one. Currently, the IP address set up in Plesk is the internal (192.168...) address. Could it be that I need to change this to the external?

Page Load Time And Host Speed

Oct 9, 2008

What difference in page load time does it make if I move away from GoDaddy hosting? Or doesn't it make much difference? If it does make a difference, what kind of percentage improvement are we talking about?

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Page Loading Time 50-60 Seconds

Jun 7, 2015

I have installed NGINX + PHP-FPM + PHP5Memcached + Memcached + APC on my VServer. My Problem is Page loading time of around 40-60 seconds. Installed is 12.0.18 Update #49

[URL] .....

Connection Setup: TIME
Stalled: 1.860 ms
Request/Response
TIME
Request sent: 0.214 ms
Waiting (TTFB): 47.08 s
Content Download: 41.757 ms
Explanation 47.12

I have reconfigured the Domains but nothing changed and Bootstrap Repair

Code:
/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpdmng --reconfigure-all
/usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp12.0.18-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh repair
If I disable Nginx and use "Apache Module" for PHP than the TTFB time is shorter but is not the prefered way. If I use "CGI" or "FASTCGI" without Nginx than the Page loading time is a little bit shorter but with Erros on the Website.

I tried to reinstall Nginx from Plesk but this gave me Error after enable it

Squirrelmail: Email Arrives With Different Time Than Server Time

Nov 11, 2008

This is a rare issue i have on a RHEL 5.2 + cPanel server.

Server time is:

Tue Nov 11 17:02:51 CST 2008
Squirrelmail time show:
Code:
Last Refresh:
Tue, 5:02 pm

So, that is correct too..

But email arrives with -4 hours time, example:

webmaster@xxx.com 1:03 pm testing email

I already rebooted httpd, exim, and imap server, and the server itself too.. and problem stills.

Refferer's Landing Page And Source Page

Apr 15, 2007

Right now my stats system only shows from what website traffic is coming. I have google analytics aswell, and with all its functions, it does not tell me from exactly what webpage traffic is coming, and to what webpage the traffic is coming to.

So, let say someone is sending me traffic from www.reffererxxx.com/cool_video.html to www.mysite.com/super_cool_video.html

My statistics would only show that www.reffererxxx.com is sending traffic to www.mysite.com

Is there a way(a script/service/program) to find out exactly from what webpage the traffic is coming, and to what webpage of mine the traffic is going to?
(I do not have server logs / webalizer / awstats as my server cannot handle the log processing due to high server loads)

Server Response Time :: Network Time Out

Sep 25, 2008

I can't get access to a certain site. I always get the page with:

network time out - server at *** takes to long to respons. More people have noticed this and apparently it only happens to people with certain specific providers. And not all the time. Some times they DO get access eventy to they belong to the same ISP. So I guess an ISP isn't blocking access to it otherwise it would be permenantly/The site administrator insists that certain ISP's are blocking his site. He's hosting it on his own server. The domain belongs is registered at namecheap.com.

If an ISP is blocking this site (if that's possible?), that would lead to that 'network timeout' page wouldn't it?

What is the most likely reason for getting a timeout page anyway?

Daily, Time To Time Cpu Load

Aug 9, 2007

I have a dedicated server specs: AMD 3500+ 64 Bit CPU, 1 GB Ram, 160 GB Sata Drive. For 1 month, CPU load average reaches 40-50 value. This happens about 5-6 times in a day. When I stop httpd service for 30 seconds everything goes normal. I think this is not a DoS attack because it comes systematic, I dont believe no one makes this regularly except bots.

Maybe its a system service or a cronjob but it stops when I turn off httpd service?
How can I be sure about what's making this regularly load?

I also did set up a script which mail me when load average of system goes crazy and restart httpd service. But instant restart is not working to stop load increase.

Apache :: Server Going Down From Time To Time

Feb 6, 2013

The server is going down from time to time, every 12 days or so the site hosted there is no longer accesible, everything starts with the site slowing don and down and then is not longer reachable, what we do is to request a power cycle, and with this we start all over again till next power cycle, so on so on, of course, here are my server details and more info on this:

- MySQL - 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.10
- Apache - 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.4
- PHP - 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.9
- operating system: Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS

After some time emailing the support guys to barely check about what's going on, we received an email with a few things:

1.- found a few errors that likely would cause issues with Apache. The first error is:
[Mon Feb 04 05:03:10 2013] [error] mod_fcgid: fcgid process manager died, restarting the server and the next error is:
[Mon Feb 04 14:32:34 2013] [error] server reached MaxClients setting, consider raising the MaxClients setting ...

Both these errors seem to indicate that you have a process that is running out of control on your server. We were unable to determine what script on your site is running caused your connections to be maxed out however it does appear that before these errors were generated there was a WordPress plugin referenced in your access logs...

2.- Additionally during our review we did find that your error log for mercadodedinerousa.com is 45 GB's which is excessively large and can cause problems when Apache is trying to write a such a large file.

3.- The majority of the errors being logged are:
[Wed Feb 06 12:12:31 2013] [error] [client 200.76.90.5] Options FollowSymLinks or SymLinksIfOwnerMatch is off which implies that RewriteRule directive is forbidden: /var/www/vhosts/mercadodedinerousa.com/httpdocs/index.pl, referer: [URL]

Host Myself, Or External

Apr 17, 2009

I am an IT manager at a small company. Currently we host an ASP.net based web application (on an IIS server) that we do most of our business on. It was grown in house and uses our MS SQL server. We are looking at expanding this application within the next few months, and I need it to be "bulletproof", as in almost zero downtime.

The website also references and pulls up scanned documents that we have on a NAS server. Currently it is around 300 gig worth of documents, but expanding around 200 gig a year.

Ultimately, I would like this to be hosted someplace where there is a constant backup of the SQL and website. And someplace I don't have to worry about the hardware, because I am a one man operation and don't have all the needed experience to deal with the web application.

would it be beneficial for me to host the scanned documents onsite, and have a hosted solution reference them back at our HQ? I could put them in a DMZ or something like that.

External Processing

Jun 13, 2008

I have a hosting provider who cannot provide enough ram to run my one time PHP script (gallery2) (and has a automatic background program kill my task)

So I would like to use processing and ram outside of that server.. via one of my other web servers.. (Dual 1 Ghz, 1 gb of ram) the thing is that the servers got plenty of power but not as much space..

So the ideal solution.. would be to utilize it's power while having it access the hard drive/data remotely and processing it remotely... using the internet/ssh to do this..

Does anyone first off know that this is possible?

2ndly what would be some of the commands?

have a few different list of links in my link section for eg one page i give people links to about 20 or so games company where they can buy from. another has a small list of forums people can join eg, another list of places that i shop at.i do not have any reciprocal links with any of them and only included them cos i thought it would be handy for my readers. now can i leave the links or should i take it all off because all these external links would not help in my pr? there seems to be so many conflicting opinions

how many external links can you have in a page before it's bad for you.

idea to just use robots.txt on all these pages to be on the safe side?

Traffic From External Subnets

Mar 19, 2008

I've got a few colocated servers hooked up to a 3COM switch. When I looked at the MRTG for the ports, I noticed that all the ports had a similar inbound traffic graphing. Thinking that something was amiss, I sniffed the port and found that I was seeing a lot of traffic from different subnets (could even see pop3 passwords!).

Now, I contacted the IDC and they said that this was normal, and that that was how their network was configured (I did tell them that other IDCs didn't have this issue). I think something's not right somewhere. And assuming that the IDC won't fix this issue, I don't want to have constant 1Mbps of inbound traffic that I don't even use.

Best Setting For Nameserver External

I have 1 dedicated where is domain.com + ns1.domain.com + ns2.domain.com

ns1 and ns2 is setting on namecheap and on WHM

Now must set 6 new server and set nameserver from ns3 to ns14.domain.com and hostname from s1 to s6.domain.com

It's right to set this only under domain.com dns as
s1 14400 IN a IP_NEW_SERVER
ns3 14400 IN a IP_NEW_SERVER
ns4 14400 IN a IP_NEW_SERVER
..

OR we must also add

domain.com 14400 IN NS ns3.domain.com.
domain.com 14400 IN NS ns4.domain.com.
..

OR/AND is better to setting this also into namecheap "nameserver registration"?

Starting Up OS From External Drive...

May 18, 2008

A few months ago i was playing around with ubuntu server and desktop version , i installed it on my external drive.

The external harddrive is Seagate 320 GB , connected via USB 2.0

I tried this about 20 times , every time i could not get it to boot to the harddrive. It would just not show up , i changed the bios settings and everything. It never worked , so i gave up.

Now i want to try again , is there a program i can use to test if my external drive is boot able? I was thinking it was my motherboard causing the problem, but i did set it to boot via USB , i tried every boot device.
