Have a website that is making use of both index.html and index.php files as the main page. How can I achieve either through .htaccess or similar (shared hosting) to have the users directed to index.html and not load the index.php first off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created the subdomain for my site www.mysite/myclientpotentialdomain, with the only purpose to show my client the mock up of his home page using his potential domain name.
The file is named index.htm and consist only the mock up image.
The problem that I encountered is when I refresh the browser (Firefox) the image disappears. I can see the alt tag, but the picture is gone. Works fine in IE though.
The only difference I have noticed that after the refreshment,

View 0 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to show a default page as the home page of the web site, without setting it as index.html or default.html? This is only on a shared hosting account , so the client does not have access to the apache conf or anything like that.
Here is the site. But, when I move the whole account over to my server, it doesn't show as the home page.
Have a domain, and I want to make a single Contact Us/Order page SSL. Have purchased the SSL certificate, put the domain on its own IP and it's ready to go. Now, how do I go about altering the page to be an SSL page. Do I simply call it as [url]? It makes some calls and loads a little SWF contact page from within it's own directory, and then shoots an email out to the contact email.
This will be the only page that ever needs an SSL on the whole site, so no worries in expanding it later.
I want to permanent redirect some .html page from subdomain to main domain WordPress page,Redirect permanent /cat/FSBO76.URL....

View 5 Replies View RelatedRight now my stats system only shows from what website traffic is coming. I have google analytics aswell, and with all its functions, it does not tell me from exactly what webpage traffic is coming, and to what webpage the traffic is coming to.
So, let say someone is sending me traffic from www.reffererxxx.com/cool_video.html to www.mysite.com/super_cool_video.html
My statistics would only show that www.reffererxxx.com is sending traffic to www.mysite.com
Is there a way(a script/service/program) to find out exactly from what webpage the traffic is coming, and to what webpage of mine the traffic is going to?
(I do not have server logs / webalizer / awstats as my server cannot handle the log processing due to high server loads)

some clarification on the following page headers?
I always presumed the Expires: date is part of the page cache instructions, however I was told its to do with the cookie. I thought the cookie expire was set as expires=date in the set cookie line and not on a new line with the :
HTTP/1.1 302 Found
Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2007 20:12:46 GMT
Server: Apache
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.4.2
Set-Cookie: oscsid=4d9ad82; path=/; domain=www.******.co.uk
Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT
Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0
Pragma: no-cache
Location: http://www.******.co.uk/
Connection: close
Content-Type: text/html
The domain has been blanked out coz im paranoid about bots Yes its an Oscommerce store and all of them set this expires header to the same date!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have configured a custom 500.100 Error for one of my web sites in IIS 6.0. However, the custom error page appears nested within the HTML of the page throwing the error, at the point the error occurs.
This is problematic as live errors are being overlooked when they appear late in the script as the majority of the page outputs normally.
On my development server IIS 5.1 this does not happen. The Custom Error Page is shown as its own page. The errors cannot go unnoticed.
How can I change IIS 6.0's Customer Error to behave like my development server, and do it just for the one web site concerned?

My Server is up and running CentOS 4.6 w/ cPanel. All appears to be functioning correctly. My office has 1 dedicated IP. I currently have a wireless linksys router setup and I have given the server a dedicated lan ip address (192.168.1.70) which is outside the dhcp ip range.
Now, my resolv.conf file consists of the DNS servers of my webhost.
My ifcfg-eth0 file looks like this:
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
BROADCAST=192.168.1.255
HWADDR=00:11:2F:FB:2C:02
IPADDR=192.168.1.70
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
NETWORK=192.168.1.0
ONBOOT=yes
TYPE=Ethernet
Now, when I attempt to view a website I add via WHM I always end up @ the GREAT SUCCESS cPanel page.
I think my problems boil down to the IP issue. I have tried to change the IPADDR in the ifcfg-eth0 file to the WAN dedicated IP and everything stops working.
Within cPanel it shows the MAIN SHARED IP ADDRESS is the 192.168.1.70. So, within the IP POOL I added the WAN IP address and rebuilt it. Then I created a new reseller user and changed the MAIN SHARED IP to the WAN IP.
Then I assigned all the websites to that user.

I was wondering: say I have a website where users discuss different articles and when a user wants to discuss a specific article, he/she will be able to link to that article and then say what they have to say.
Certainly, copying and pasting would violate the site's copyright but simply including a little link sounds like a legal alternative. Is it really? Or, technically that would still require me as the webmaster, or the user who posted it to request permission just for linking?
I know nobody would care because it only gives more traffic to the site but legally, would permission be needed?
If you are hosted at Gl0bat.com, you should be aware that Gl0bat is poaching traffic away from your site. Gl0bat has added new 404 file not found pages. The domain name of the account holder is displayed right above a search box that advises it will search this site, but returns sponsored ad results. Below is a listing of the favorites of the domain name that also returns a bunch of advertising. These error pages use the domain name repeatedly, but do not offer any link to get back to the domain. So Gl0bat is hijacking domain names away from their customers and associating questionable links with customer domain names.
It even has a search box that says "Search" which implies you're searching the site but it goes straight to information.com to which Gl0bat gets a kickback from.
This is wrong. They are stealing your visitors, your CUSTOMERS away from you and redirecting them to another site.
Protect yourself and setup a custom 404 page right now. I'm working on doing this and I hope this solves the problem.
Gl0bat's one-click install is also very outdated. The software they install is not the current version but very old version with security flaws in them. They also have PHP register_globals set to ON which is another security hole. This hole and the old software allows for sites to be hacked more easily.
BUYER BEWARE!
I have a server and 8 sites using same script on the same server.
A function of the script is providing me to upload images from admin panel. But it doesn't work..
I select image and press upload button, it shows me blank page after upload completed but no file is uploaded to the folder.
I think there is a software that's resizing image but not sure. The Os is centos.
