VPS With WHM/cPanel Webmail - Login ... Then Login Fails
Jan 31, 2008
Just got a new additional VPS with WHM/cPanel.
Browse to www.mydomain.com/webmail and get login box > login accepted and taken to Horde/Squirrelmail choice screen > choose Squirrelmail and get login box ... login not accepted! > Retry and choose Horde ... login not accepted!
The login is correct and the results are the same when logging in as root, or through /cPanel or /Webmail.
I created an email account in cpanel. But then when I try to click 'webmail' by that account, it won't work. It takes me to the option screen where I can click Horde Mail or Squirrel Mail. After I click either one of them, it then just takes me to a log in screen like it didn't accept my login info. I try typing in my username and password but it doesnt work.
Is this a permission thing I need to set in WHM? I'm clueless.
I have having some issues with sending/receiving email. I have the following running on my linux virtual dedicated server with godaddy:
Postfix IMAP Squirrelmail(webmail)
My problem is: I can logon through webmail using the domain account but I cannot logon using any email accounts I created. I can also send emails out from the server from the command line i.e.:
root@myserver.com# echo "test" | mail -s testsubject someemail@hotmailorwherever.com
So instead of using webmail, I tried using OUTLOOK and experienced the same issue. I can logon using the domain/system account but not any using any of the email accounts i created using simple control panel.
I would like to configure it so that they can only login when they visit our corporate website and login via a login box which we will provide on our website, so i need the cpanel and webmail urls to be redirected to a page of our choice on our website.
How would i do this so it takes affect on all our customers accounts.
We are doing this for a marketing reason so that whenever they need to login, they have to visit our website (and see our services more)
When I try to login via webmail horde I get always:
Login failed because your username or password was entered incorrectly.
The logfile shows:
Jul 13 12:23:32 HORDE [error] [imp] FAILED LOGIN for mail@domain.tld [1.2.3.4] to to {127.0.0.1:143 [imap/notls]} [pid 5358 on line 139 of "/usr/share/psa-horde/imp/lib/Auth/imp.php"]Click to expand...
1) If I'm logged into my {other VPS} with Putty, then ssh root@67.xx.xx.xxx successfully logs me into {new VPS}, after the password prompt, so I know the root password can login (some of the time)
2) ...but not my Windows computer, both Putty, and SFTP fail. The SFTP error message is : "ERROR:> [7/31/2009 9:48:08 AM] Can't connect to 67.xx.xx.xxx:22. SFTP21 error = #0." Port 22 is correct, according to hosting support.
3a) Hosting support said... "Based on the information you have provided to us, I am assuming that either your firewall or ISP is blocking the standard 22 SSH port. If you would like, we can change this to a custom port number."
3b) That response doesn't help, since I'm using port 22 for the {other VPS}
I experienced an issue using an external backup repository on Plesk 12.0.18 machines using ftps. The ftp server uses ftps (explicit) connections.Plesk 11.5 works fine (and ordinary ftp client like Filezilla as well), Plesk 12 throws the following error when trying to add the server via the web interface:
Code: Curl error: Login denied Unencrypted connections will work. Plesk 11.5 machines (with the same settings) will work.
I've analyzed the problem and got so far: The backup manager tries to connect using "regular" transfer method + ssl, not ftp-ssl explicit. Is there a chance to force Plesk using explicit ftpes connections? Or is there another work around? Some additional infos about the (ftp) server: The ftp server is running ProFTP 1.3.4d, uses port 2000 for the control port and has a port range (2001 - 2100) for the passive connections.I tried to add the server using the address field of the gui IP:2000 and checkboxed "passive mode" and "ftps".
i had access in some servers via SSH and when i try to connect i get:
Welcome to The HOST! login as: nickname -------------------------- We monitor/log everything on that server! IP Logged! -------------------------- nickname@host's password: .............
I know that there is the motd file in /etc that i can put a message but i see it when i full be recognized by the server.. (after putting the password).. How can i put the other 2 messages?
when I find the subscription from the admin side of PPA, if I select "Login as user" I've noticed that it is different from actually logging in as the user - for example - "add domain alias" is missing when I login as a customer - but not as an admin... I need my customers to add their own aliases and manage them - how do I add that feature to the client login side?
I have someone on my server that is having problems login to Cpanel and WHM.
They can view all websites on the server even theirs, but they cannot login.
They keep getting: Firefox cannot establish a connection with the server.
Even in IE they get a error message.
They even tried with "theirdomain.com/cpanel" and got the same thing.
They are using a rounter also, so I told them to try unhooking that, but my main question is, it doesn't seem that their IP is blocked as I checked, so is there anything else on the server that could cause this or is it something on their end?
I am struggling to find the best cpanel login script, mixed with modernbill (5)
cpanel whm webmail modernbill (5x)
I found this (w/o MB) [url]
However, trying this I get this error
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/user/public_html/login.php:1) in /home/user/public_html/login.php on line 37
