Just a random though, (and my initial research suggest there isn't anything like this) but are there any servers that can work via PoE (Power over Ethernet) as I figured it might be a handy way of keeping wiring down and also inline APC (not sure if turning off a port would kill the power)
Sharktech is hit and miss. They are not professional or courteous at all. Everything is done THEIR way or the highway. You either love them or you hate them. It's just the way it is.
Anyone who is truly business-minded and has a grasp on how the real world works will not like them. Dealing with them will NOT be like dealing with a "real" company like the cable company or phone company, even IF you're paying Sharktech MORE per month than you pay for your utility bill.
If you're just looking for the cheapest option for your side-business that you don't really care about too much, and you can tolerate the occasional email from Sharktech that makes you go "WHOA!", then use them.
Two of my domains experience random DNS problems; I've had frequent complaints from eastern countries (and sometimes experience the problem myself) that at seemingly random moments the domain will not resolve. For the eastern countries, this may go on for days at a time, while for myself (in the US) it's no more than an hour or two. While it may work for some, it randomly goes down for others.
I am having an issue with sending out emails via any mail client. This issue started randomly with every account on the server just the other day and I can not seem to figure out what the issue is. I have attached an error message. Let me know if you have experienced this before.
I am trying to install a website builder script. I am using the correct permissions, the install worked fine, but while I'm using the script I get random 403 errors. It always occurs while browsing through the builder, but not on any particular pages. Sometimes I'll get a 403 error right when I log in, other times it will take several minutes before I run into a problem ...
I am running wordpress with wp O matic. I want to update my content after 24 hours (but different time each day). Bottom line is I want a cron command which randomly execute after 24 hours instead of a particular time.
For example currently wp o matic shows the following command the following command, would you please advice how i change the this command to achieve the above results (right now wordpress is running on my computer so following thing is just for example)
recently I have an weird problem and I don't know what might be, I just suspect that this error appeared after we have enabled Keep Alive on apache
I have the same error with randomly Forbidden error. The most time I see it is on 2 websites that are build with Gallery 2 and very rarely on other website, on my end never happent on other websites but some people told me it did.
Bellow is a small part of cPanel's "Last 300 visits" it shows every request so you can see first request was a direct link , I have wrote the galery name .. and the others are aither requests to images either other files ....
I regularly have DNS issues with some of my sites hosted with a specific host... At random sites, the urls done resolve and I get a DNS error. Just to find out that a few hours later it loads again without issues...
I always thought it had something to do with my ISP... My host says that there's nothing wrong with their DNS. However, I asked a few people now and it seems they're having DNS problems too sometimes when accessing the problematic urls...

It was working fine a week ago. I don't believe I changed anything major.
What's the go with seeding the PRNG on windows as there isn't dev/random or dev/urandom? Should I use CryptoAPI or just use a file with random contents and change it often, or just leave the PRNG to "almost" randomise itself?
Every now and then I will attempt to load my Plesk 12, CentOS6 Website, and receive the following error:
503, Service Temporarily Unavailable.
It requires a restart of nginx and apache in order to remove the error. It then can come back in a week, or in a few hours. Its completely random. I also can't find anything in the logs.
This started happening after I enabled backups, then later disabled backups because of problems with my backup server. However this does not occur when my scheduled backup was.
I signed up with GoDaddy shared hosting just a couple days ago. I logged into my site using SSH and FileZilla.
And I see hundreds of folders and files that are not mine. These are files from some random account. These are not the basic starter-folders/files.
Yet when I connect via FTP (not SSH), I only see the regular starter-set with just a few folders and a few files (not hundreds).
This seemed totally loopy, so I called customer support, and the support guy agreed that it was not right. He "escalated" the issue to technical support. I received an email from them asking for screenshots of all these random files I see via SSH.
I sent in the screenshots of FileZilla showing all these files.
We have reviewed your hosting account [edit] and SSH does in fact show more files than typical FTP. This is normal and not something to be alarmed about. As you are on the shared environment there is certain folders that you will not be able to access, one such example provided in your screenshots is 'herawellness', attempting to access this directory will result in a access denied error. If you are attempting to upload web content you will need to put the content in the the /html/ directory.
If you are having trouble using SSH you may want to consult your favorite search engine for assistance with SSH commands.
Please contact us if you have any further issues.

This doesn't seem right at all.
I've only hosted with one other host besides godaddy, and using SSH I did not suddenly see hundreds of random files from some random account.
I have a lot of questions here so if you can't answer them all I understand. even pointing me somewhere where I could get the answers would be appreciated; hardware sites focusing on server hardware, forums focusing on such, etc.
we plan to have three different types of servers:
- db server (self explanatory. mysql. for forums, mysql driven sites.)
- file server (lots of files around ~2-10MB, consistant 70mbps right now, but we want more room for upgrades. needs a LOT of storage room.)
- web server (lots of php files, but also static things like plain html, images, etc. also includes all misc services for the setup-- dns, etc.)
could I be given a rundown for which hardware each of the three should have? I don't need specifics, even just knowing that more ram is important here while cpu doesn't matter as much, or that the fastest disks available are a must, etc would all be valuable info for me. despite that, I certainly wouldn't mind specific hypothetical hardware configs.
for the database server I'm assuming the more ram the better. not entirely sure about the cpu? also not positive on disks...
for the fileserver, how much ram would be practical or useful? disk io will be an issue I'm because plenty of people will be pulling files at once so the disk needs to read from multiple places. scsi (and even raptors) are not an option as we need 750GB+ of space on a reasonable budget. more ram will take some load of of the disks, but how much is neccessary / reasonable?
for the web server I'm assuming cpu first, then ram, but it'll likely need less ram than the db server?
I'm more lost on the disks than anything. scsi on the fileserver is not an option under any circumstances due to $/GB. for the db & web server I'm willing to pay for scsi if the performance increase really does warrant the extra money, but I'd like to be convinced before shelling it out. if you have benchmarks geared at server hardware when it comes to disks I'd really appreciate it.
also, what's the best way to network these together when colocated? each one with a dual gigabit ethernet port and then the communications go to and from the router?
i update the cpanel and after that lfd fails all the time

Which can be the issue you think ?
Ip tables in my case all of them they are correct
Even if i restart the virtual its working properly for a while and after that fails
