Does anyone know why you have to specify the Disk Space in both the Cleint area and also the Domain area within Plesk? Also for one client I have specified 250MB, but in the email user it says 'unlimited' any ideas?

How do you create OS Templates on open VZ? We want to create on with CentOS + Webmin and one with cPanel. Anyone done this before?

Do you know if such complete host script is exist, if so where I can find it (with reasonable prices).
I will modify the script to fit my needs but I just want a complete script to start with.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm in a unique position (friend of a business owner) to provide a hosting company between 50 to 1000 new clients who need a domain name, yearly hosting and a 1 or 2 page website that clients can edit and customize to a limited amount (color, main body text and headers and some graphics within body). A basic template with graphics and text would be provided, just need the backend for the clients to customize certain things.
I'm new to the hosting scene, so I'm not sure of any exsisting hosts that offer this.
I'm sure some of the big hosting companies offer something similar like godaddy.
However we are looking for a hosting company that we can recieve residual referral monies from these clients we sign up. I guese if someone offers a reseller account with all these features, then we charge our clients whatever we want. I am just looking at options right now to research and provide suggestions to my partner.

I'm not trying to bash HG, but I need your opinion: is the HG respond is already correct?
So learn from the same thing, if I set a website sell cracked properties and only delivery the product through CD or email (not downloadble one) I can host it with HG as long as no offensive files in their server? Or in this case HG just ignore it because could not understand Indonesia languange?
I ftp'd some eztemplate files for Debian, Ubuntu, Centos and Fedora. I only rpm'd the main o/s rpm and the devel rpm.
I ran vzpkg create cache and got the below error.

Best platform for IMAP mail (Cpanel, Plesk Linux or Plesk Windows)
I need to setup 5 email accounts on my domain, each will use IMAP and store messages on server, so total space taken by each account will be 2-5 GB.
I have decided to go with eurovps.com as I'm close to them and ping is fast.
What is the best solution for IMAP and large email accounts: Linux Cpanel, Linux Plesk or Windows Plesk?
Each account will be accessed by 2 people differently by Thunderbird and occasionally by webmail, so nice webmail is a plus.
I have a server running Linux and PLESK, and am interested in switching to Windows and PLESK. Will the backups made under Linux restore under Windows?

Now SSH and Plesk doesn't seem to be working.

i got plesk 8.0, and trying to update with the updater to more recent versions.
updating fails.
I tried with incremental updates (8.0 > 8.1 > 8.2 etc.), but it never works.
I haven't really touched the configuration since I got the server.

I installed a Plesk vps and APF firewall.
If apf is enabled, I cannot access Plesk. I get this error via virtuozzo panel (vzpp)
If I disable apf, it works fine. Not sure what's wrong here.

how csf firewall should be set for plesk (linux)?
I get this error when firewall is enabled (duplicated with apf and csf, tried both). Error goes away if firewall is disabled.
Service is not available now, probably your Plesk is misconfigured.

I've bought a windows vps, I'm very newbie with it. My host told me that asp.Net 2.0 is installed on my vps, though I may need to set my site to run using it within IIS.
I've trying to read the forums, google, etc. and I don't find where or what do I have to do to set the asp within IIS with plesk.
With Cpanel, when i setup a new webhosting account you can access the webspace at ns1.xxxxx.com/~username.. you can also connect to ftp and upload your site using this before propagation takes place so there is no downtime.
i have just started using plesk and have gone through all the pdf guides and cant find where it mentions how to access the webspace that i have setup through the ip address. im trying to look at the site and connect via dreamweaver.
can anyone assist me. i have tried ns1.xxxxx.com/~username and hoped it worked the same as cpanel but it doesnt seem to.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am currently having problems performing FTP on my site. The web user section is under "root" and not under the virtual domain owner. How do I change the permissions back to the virtual domain owner in this instance?
My standard FTP for the domain only works if I SFTP, so does this mean the actual domain has gone under root aswell? how do I change this?
Also - I get this when trying to create even a directory in my virtual plesk account while logged in:

I just got plesk installed on my dedicated server and when I try and access the site it give me the following error

I have been doing a bit of testing of MS SQL on Plesk, and I have a local database (MS SQL Standard 2005) and I can make a create script which references MDF files. However I'm not sure how I would import this into MS SQL? Whats the best way to export data from MS SQL and then import to a new server?

Where would the my.cnf file be kept for Plesk?
I found one in /etc, but the max_allowed_packet option was there.
