i got plesk 8.0, and trying to update with the updater to more recent versions.
updating fails.
I tried with incremental updates (8.0 > 8.1 > 8.2 etc.), but it never works.
I haven't really touched the configuration since I got the server.
this is the error I'm getting:

I'm trying to install Plesk on an OpenVZ VE. OpenVZ node is running 2.6.22 kernel on CentOS5 64 bit. VPS is CentOS4 32 bit.
When running the autoinstaller I get the following error:

I've bought a windows vps, I'm very newbie with it. My host told me that asp.Net 2.0 is installed on my vps, though I may need to set my site to run using it within IIS.
I've trying to read the forums, google, etc. and I don't find where or what do I have to do to set the asp within IIS with plesk.
With Cpanel, when i setup a new webhosting account you can access the webspace at ns1.xxxxx.com/~username.. you can also connect to ftp and upload your site using this before propagation takes place so there is no downtime.
i have just started using plesk and have gone through all the pdf guides and cant find where it mentions how to access the webspace that i have setup through the ip address. im trying to look at the site and connect via dreamweaver.
can anyone assist me. i have tried ns1.xxxxx.com/~username and hoped it worked the same as cpanel but it doesnt seem to.
I am currently having problems performing FTP on my site. The web user section is under "root" and not under the virtual domain owner. How do I change the permissions back to the virtual domain owner in this instance?
My standard FTP for the domain only works if I SFTP, so does this mean the actual domain has gone under root aswell? how do I change this?
Also - I get this when trying to create even a directory in my virtual plesk account while logged in:
I just got plesk installed on my dedicated server and when I try and access the site it give me the following error
Code:
You are not authorized to view this page You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
Please try the following:
* Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to view this directory or page. * Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials.

Now the server is running Windows Server 2003 Standard
I have been doing a bit of testing of MS SQL on Plesk, and I have a local database (MS SQL Standard 2005) and I can make a create script which references MDF files. However I'm not sure how I would import this into MS SQL? Whats the best way to export data from MS SQL and then import to a new server?
Version of MS SQL: Express 2005 Version of Plesk: 8.2
Does anyone know why you have to specify the Disk Space in both the Cleint area and also the Domain area within Plesk? Also for one client I have specified 250MB, but in the email user it says 'unlimited' any ideas?
My Plesk virtual server doesn't have spamassasin installed as standard. They quoted 200 pounds to have it installed.
I really know nothing of it's effectiveness - serverside. I only have about 10 domains installed, but those users do complain about spam - should I invest in it?
I am using Plesk 9.2 and Mailenable pro version, but every time plesk management services crash and than smtp "inbound" and "outbound" messages stop and i see huge que until i do not restart the mail services.
it only happens in business hours when my customers login to their plesk control panel and start working to add/delete/edit mail accounts/spam filters.
So i went to the windows event viewer and i see huge list of the following errors.

I'm having a small dilemma at the moment as I have never admined a server via SSH only, though following a well written Perfect Server guide might help. As the topic states, would you recommend using a control panel to manage a dedicated server (for one person), or would you recommend using SSH management and setting up the services there?
I have never tried to perform the latter option but would really like to as I'm a complete Linux noob Ok well maybe not complete, I know more than most people do, but I'm far less proficient than those who actually use and like the system on a daily basis.
Now we have problem in Disk space. I think in this new version of PLESK, back up of any account has been summed to the disk space of account. This is really illogical. I don’t know why PLESK has such problems! How can I separate space of back up of disk space usage of account so that this space of back up is not shown in the account?
How to configure DKIM (Domain Keys Identified mail) on plesk? I am not talking about configuring Domain keys( already done), but Domain Keys Identified Mail.
I'm having some trouble finding a VPS host that offers Debian and Plesk. I've searched the forum but nothing's really panned out. I'm currently with Geekstorage but the server has been slow (same problem reported by others).
Anyone have recommendations for Debian + Plesk VPS host?
One of our customers have a Web Application with Framework 2.0, but many times a day the Application just stop working, if you try to open any file into the application it never answered. We need to restart the Application for solve the problem.
Is posible to know why the application stop working, where can i the logs or something?
I'm thinking of taking out a new VPS but am unsure of whether to go with CPanel or Plesk.
I have used CPanel with WHM & it works really well. I have read that it does take up a lot of memory & as I'm going for a low end VPS - with 348mb to start with, I was wondering about Plesk, which is also offered by the hosts.
Is Plesk more memory-friendly?
Does Plesk operate in the same way as CPanel - offering Admin as in WHM & easily configurable client panels?
I have a customer that wants to transfer 2 websites to my company. The databases for both sites are about 80MB and we can't backup them because phpmyadmin timeouts.
If someone can open an account for a few days to restore the accounts and create a backup using phpmyadmin (we will need to change the php settings so php scripts don't timeout or phpmyadmin to support zip or tar.gz) please contact me using PM.
as a newbie moving up to VPS hosts from shared hosts. I'm looking for a bit of advice on which would be the best to go for.?
i have used cPanel before & found it very easy to use, BUT have never used Plesk, only via their web site using the Demo panel & also found it easy to use... what im looking to host is a small community forums & hopefully a small game server on the same host to run ET "Enemy Territory"
Ive been told that ET can be installed on cPanel easily but when looking at the demo of plesk in Modules, it shows a couple of game servers but not ET. could anyone please say if plesk is also capable of running this game or not.. also as a newbie which of the 2 control panels would be the best for me.?
