I have multiple backups stored under server repository (subscriptions --> <domainname> --> website and domains --> backup manager).
The physical files are located at: /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/904279/domains/<domainname>/
When I click the green arrow to download these files to a local computer (see attached image) I get a new page with title "Download the backup file". On this page I have the option to set a password on the downloaded file, but no matter what I do (password or no password) the file is not downloaded to my local PC. I don't get a pop-up box with the option to save the file. Just nothing happens ...
Firstly I wonder if there is any possibility to limit the number of cores the plesk backup zipping tool uses? This pigz takes up all my CPU. Is there any way I can reduce the amount of cores it uses because all my websites are down every time a backup takes place for around 3 minutes.
Secondly I get the following in my syslog:
1 baby plesk sendmail[20189]: Error during 'check-quota' handler
I don't know what is wrong. I think it's since the upgrade to Plesk 12. I now have 12.0.18 Update #13.
I have a 6GB backup file created with another Plesk Backup Manager, now I trying to upload this backup file to my Plesk Backup Manager but after upload 3% I am getting "413 Request Entity Too Large" error, I tried with disable NGINX but still getting this error.
how can I resolve this error or is their any other way to upload my file on backup manager?
I see that Backup Manager have a file size restriction of 2GB how can I increase this?
I have an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit virtual private server with Plesk 12. The server is hired from a hosting provider. The server is used to run the Odoo ERP application (using postgres database).
The Odoo application is running fine and now I want to create a backup of the application using Plesks Backup manager.
I choose configurations and content option in the backup manager but the created backup is only 200kb.
I think the problem is the location where the Odoo application is installed is not included in the backup. I made a tar backup from the server and extracted it on my pc. It seems that the main parts of the Odoo application are in the var, opt, etc and usr directories (not in a domain but under root).
Installing the application in a domain would solve the Plesk backup issue I think but the installation script of Odoo puts Odoo in var, opt, etc and usr directories even if I put the install script in the directory of a created domain. Since the manual Odoo installation is complicated I am very happy to use the script.
My questions are:
1. Is it possible to include the directories var, opt, etc and usr in the Plesk backup and how and where do I do that?
2. Can I restore such a backup without no problem in Plesk?
Now we have problem in Disk space. I think in this new version of PLESK, back up of any account has been summed to the disk space of account. This is really illogical. I don’t know why PLESK has such problems! How can I separate space of back up of disk space usage of account so that this space of back up is not shown in the account?
I would like to write a script or something so that it automatically backups my entire Plesk server (v. 8.1) and then uploads it to a remote FTP.
More importantly, I am curious if it's possible to upload directly on to the FTP without first storing a copy of all the files on the server being upgraded. This is because my server has a 73GB disk and its like 80% used..... so there really isn't room to make the backup on the same disk before sending it over via. FTP.
I'm going from a reseller account that used cPanel to a dedicated server using Plesk. I don't have access to anything on the cPanel server (long story), but the host said they will create a cPanel backup for me. Is it possible to install this into Plesk? I know it's possible to do a migration from a cPanel server to Plesk, which requires root access that I don't have and can't get, so this cPanel backup is the best I've got.
I created a backup using the backup manager in plesk panel (~4Gb). When I click the green arrow on the right to download, I get transfered to another page that suggests I should enter a password to protect my backup. No matter if I enter a password or skip this security option, I get back to the backup manager overview, but the download doesn't start. There is no error message. Just nothing happens. I also searched in /opt/psa/admin/logs for an error log, but there is none.
From another thread I read the owner should be psaadm for /var/lib/psa as well as /var/lib/psa/dumps (and files/subfolders), on my server the owner is root for all those. But that thread was for plesk 8.
My backups aren't working for days now. I have noticed that on current backup status there is one backup stuck at 100% for several days now and it is preventing new scheduled backups from working.
there is no way to delete that backup, so how can I fix this, without rebooting the whole server?
I am trying to run backups to an off site location, however, I have noticed that even if I try on the server side, it will only backup 2gb, which when I check the backup, the file structure is there, but there arent any files in the backups.
I am having issues with the plesk backup manager. I set up my personal FTP personal repository in tools & settings, then backup manager. My ftp is secure with a specific port. here are my options:
FTP server hostname or IP: myipaddress":"port without quotes. Directory for backup files storage: complete also used /complete. Both correct username and password
Use passive mode checked Use FTPS checked Use password protection checked
Here is my scenario:
Personal FTP repository backups are set up with:
Create a multivolume backup Volume size: 2047 Store backup in: Personal FTP Repository max number of backups: 1
For some reason when I manually backed up the server with server repository, my storage went from 14gb to 6gb.. I have zero backups in both server repository and personal FTP repository because I deleted them. Now its stuck at 6gb, which seems that the backup is stored somewhere in the system and is not deleted.Where can I find this backup? I am using CentOS.
I upgraded Plesk 11.5 to the latest version 12.0.08 # 5 and now I can not configure the external FTP backup I get the error:Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: Timeout was reached. Also failing the backup shows this error: Unable to rotate dump: The dump rotation is failed with code '126 'at / opt / psa / admin / bin / plesk_agent_manager line 1041.
And this one:Can not upload file 'domains/domain.tld/backup_domain.tld_info_1406210716.xml' to ftp. Error code: 1..my SO Debian 6.0.8
When I login to plesk as admin and then Tools and settings and then backup manager and choose backup and then Server configuration and content and run backup, after 2-4 minutes i see backup process failed and then i see "Backup log information is not available" what should i do?
We have a problem with a Plesk backup. We have about 300 domains, the scheduled task starts 23.30 and takes about 16 hours and thats not normal. Before it took about 9-10 hours for 'All configuration and content' and that was too long, so we set up for 'All configuration and content except mail'. It worked for a few days and then it started to take 14 - 16 hours for a server backup. We use Plesk 11.5 on CentOS 6 64bit.
I have a problem with my Plesk Backup Manager... When I'm doing server backup (sending to FTP) I get this message...

I have two Plesk servers running on CentOS. I want if one server goes down 2nd will start serve requests to clients. But data should be sync from first server to 2nd server or we can say 2nd will 100% replica of first. So if one server goes down 2nd will start serve users data thats they required like databases, emails and web request.
A load of my domains were backed up last night and they have been suspended ever since. I have tried the following:
1. Domains -> Backup Manager -> Back Up 2. tick off the box to the left of "Suspend domain until backup task is completed" 3. Tick off the box to the left of "Domain configuration" 4. Click "Back Up".
...That did not fix it
I've tried suspending/activating the domains, but I just receive "Error: Unable to activate the domain: The domain is suspended."
I've also logged into MySQL PSA database and run "update domainaliases set status=0 where status=2;" ...That did not fix it
I have checked and /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/conf/httpd.include file is missing.
I have also run the following command: /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng --reconfigure-all
That did not fix it
if I try "/usr/local/psa/bin/domain -u mydomain.com -status enabled" I receive the following error message...
An error occurred during domain update: Turn on domain failed: /usr/share/tomcat5/conf/server.xml:1451: parser error : Extra content at the end of the document vice> tomcatmng: Unable to parse tomcat server config /usr/share/tomcat5/conf/server.xml
i have make a full Plesk Backup on my Old Server with Plesk 12.0(Ubuntu) and will restore the Backup on my new Server with Plesk 12.0(CentOS).When i will restore the backup i get this error: "Error: The source file is not a valid XML file. If you supplied an archive file containing a backup from Plesk version 9 or later, then extract the contents of this archive, and process the extracted XML file with the converter. If you want to convert a backup file from a Plesk version earlier than 9, then you first need to process it with the pre9-backup-convert utility, and then process the resulting file with the pre10-backup-convert utility."
My server works fine like expected, but isn't uploaded to ftp. It was in 11.0.9, same after upgrading to 11.5.29.
The ftp repository in plesk shows a manually done older backup, so ftp connection seems to be ok.
In ftp repository settings I get an error, if I try to safe anything, ftp server, user and password are correct, manual ftp connection is working fine.
The error is:
Code:
Fehler: FTP-Verbindung fehlgeschlagen. Bitte überprüfen Sie Ihre FTP-Einstellungen. drwx---r-x 2 b088598 cust 4096 Jun 17 06:01 . drwxr-xr-x 3 b088598 cust 4096 Jun 17 06:01 .. drwx---r-x 2 b088598 cust 4096 Jun 17 06:01 . drwxr-xr-x 3 b088598 cust 4096 Jun 17 06:01 ..

I made a backup of my website with plesk backup manager on an external FTP, now I want to restore this backup on a new server which isn't using plesk, for test purposes. I've downloaded the backup (which is in .tar) on my PC, and extracted all files firstly from the general .tar archive, then the user_data from .tgz. Then to extract all the databases (they were in a folder "databases" after I've extracted the general .tar file), I extracted them from database_name_145536536.tgz, then from database_name_145536536.tar, so that now I've a series of "database_name_145536536" files. (145536536 are some example numbers).
I'm interested in restoring both files and mysql databases.
To restore the files, I can simply use the extracted files from the user_data archive.
To restore the mysql databases, I tried to do "mysql -p -u username database_name < file" and everything seemed to work fine.
Is this process ok? Is it 100% safe and sure or I could face some bugs?
Currently Plesk only has the ability to make a full backup of the data. Now, this is quite an issue since I have accounts on my server that are over 280GB. Making a full daily backup of that and allowing clients to have a history of 10 days, isn't viable.
Is there perhaps a way one can make differential backups?
I have a scheduled backup set on my panel, to backup all server configuration and content, and is set to run every week. I also set to keep only 1 backup on repository, but this config doesn't seem to work! My hard drive is getting full all the time, and when I check that its because theres a lot of old backups stored that are not getting removed!
My question is: the backup script removes the old files only at the end or it does it while backing up? If the action of removal happens only at the end of the script, i think it would explain why it isn't working: my hard drive gets full before, and the script drops an error, and never get to the end of it and it doesn't remove the old backups.
My Version: Parallels Plesk Panel v11.0.9_build20120609.17 os_Windows 2008
