I rent a vps and currenly running on CentOS. I already setup 2 domain using VirtualHost and wondering how I can configure for each domain can access only 1 phpmyadmin directory
e.g :
example.com/phpmyadmin
example1.com/phpmyadmin
for now I manage to to it manually without using any cPanel or other tools.. cost saving , just want to learn to setup for myself.
Forward domain to multiple IPs
I have a domain setup on my Plesk 8.6.0 powered webserver which is being forwarded to a specific IP provided by my costumer, all DNS zone records are inserted accordingly and everything works fine.
Due to a problem with the ISP that provides the fixed IP on my costumer’s server he now wants to get a second IP from a different ISP, for the same webserver, to function as a secondary route onto his server .....
Does anyone know how I can run multiple servers. But still use the same Domain name.
Such as server one with ip 547.547.547.547 uses domain www,m1.domain.com
and server two has ip 547.548.548.548 but uses domain www,m2.domain.com
I have some domains I need to transfer, some of which erquire hosting and some of which require just to be held temporarily.
I looked at quite a few hosting companies, but I found out .co.uk domains can only be transferred by EU companies.
The sites aren't too big, but I would require PHP, MySQL (ideally unlimited databases), emails, etc.
Is it possible to have a single domain, with a single SSL certificate, running multiple applications that use the same SSL cert? ....

Basically, our goal is to have our own store for Lean Bulk, but it will be run by a different company, and will be on their server.
Soo, the store database and custom script will be staying on their server, but my forums will be staying on my server. What I want is for the store to be located at [url]or [url]
Either one works for me. However, the tech guy that runs all the stuff for the store, is trying to tell me that this is "impossible." While it might be somewhat difficult, I have a hard time believing anything is really impossible.
The tech says the only thing we can do is have the store located at:

so he does not have to get a wildcard certificate.
i currnetly use no-ip to host my website from my home server, with windows server 2003. I was wondering if I could use two hosts at once. If so, can you recommend some free ones, subdomains are ok.

I have an the simple email services provided by 1and1 that I haven't used for ages.
I am a bit confused how multiple MX records can be used, so far I have edited my DNS record file for domain.com to look like this:

If im not mistaken the above show the email server domain.co.uk is connected to (domain.co.uk) is the primary server, with 1and1 2nd and 3rd.
However if I changed the priorities all to the same value, i.e "0" would that mean the mail is delivered to all?
My ideal solution would be, if the primary server was down, send mail to secondary, but that leads me to another problem. When I want to check mail with Thunderbird its connected to imap.domain.co.uk and not imap.1and1.co.uk, so the problem now is mail split over two servers....! I would like a redundant system, to ensure email is online 99.999% of the time.
So my question is, what are peoples current solutions with multiple MX records, and how have they achieved 99.999% uptime of emails.
I have a VPS account with WHM/Cpanel console access. I have three domains that I am trying to setup. Within WHM I have setup three different accounts, one for each domain. I am able to login to the cPanel for all three accounts. This also created a new web directory for each domain in /home/domain_name/public_html/. I have placed my default index.php in all three public_html with the same permissions. But only 1 domain is working the other two are not. What am I missing? I have confirmed that all three have the correct DNS servers with godaddy and I can do an nslookup on all three. My provider told me to share the IP so that is what I am configured as..
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have soon to be very busy site. it's a simple "school grade" searching website. giving your identification code and returning your exam grade. i try to put a dedicated server and within 5 min it hung. it was last year.
this year i try to put to 3 or 4 shared hosting and do a round robin dns. but the problem is 85% traffic is from the same ISP and it will cache the dns result.
I am so lost I am using both plesk for linux 8 and plesk for windows 8 I am trying to figure out how to have one master dns server for all domains regardless of which server they are hosted on. So if I have ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com I want to have it across the board on all servers is this possible in plesk and how would I go about doing this.

I have a dedicated server hosted in some data center. The server provider has provided me an IP address. I have bought a a domain name which redirects the traffic to that IP.
I have not been provided with any nameserver.
My question is is it possible that I register multiple domain names against the same IP address? If yes how?
How can it be determined that multiple domains are "affiliated" with each other? For example, at the link below, on the left side of the page it says that yahoo.com, yahoo.net, and yahooligans.com are owned together. Does this mechanism use WHOIS records, or does it use the IP addresses to which each address resolves (which would only get sites that use named-based virtual hosting to the same IP address, right?)

We are looking for a solution to support multible IP's for different domains in one subscription/cusomer Account. Current, we have 4 IP's as shared. the Customer can choose under "Web Hosting Access" , which IP he wants to use.
This setting effect all domains in his Account. So it is not possible to set domain1.tld to e.g. IP 1.1.1.1 and domain2.tld e.g. to 2.2.2.2

I have two domains as virtual hosts on same IP address.
I am getting certificate error for the second domain when I try to check email (using MS Outlook). I can't permanently "accept" certificate, it complains again and again. Certuficate I created and self signed for imap.domain1.com, but the second email server is imap.domain2.com, so it complains.
How do I set separate email certificates for two domains? Is it possible at all?
I have 1 server so I setup dns as ns1.mydomain.com, ns2.mydomain.com ip address pointed to server1. So, now I just bought another server. Can I setup ns2.mydomain.com pointed to 2nd server. Also how to setup more servers ie. 10, 20 server because I can only set up to 6 dns in one domain name.

When I access domain.com/phpmyadmin and log in, I see two things that I believe are preventing my stuff from connecting and working properly.
**Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole.
**The mbstring PHP extension was not found and you seem to be using a multibyte charset.
Without the mbstring extension phpMyAdmin is unable to split strings correctly and it may result in unexpected results.

The key to this is in their description, "A logged-in user can be subject of SQL injection through cross site request forgery. Several scripts in phpMyAdmin are vulnerable and the attack can be made through table parameter."
A logged in user... This attack is a combination of SQL injection through CSRF. In other words, you'd have to be logged into your phpMyAdmin program, hit a website setup for CSRF, and then the attacker could have access to your phpMyAdmin as you.
If there's interest here, I could write up a detailed description of CSRF and how to prevent this type of attack.

You should upgrade immediately to either phpMyAdmin 2.9.11.4 or 3.1.1.0 or apply patch 12100.
I've got phpMyAdmin setup, but when I logout or try to browse a table I get 404 error. Everything is CHMOD as 755. Ideas? I'm also running off of LiteSpeed
