Parked On Addon Domain
Can a domain be parked on an addon domain in a cPanel server?
At first thought I do not see it as a problem as a ServerAlias directive for the parked inside the addon domain Virtual Host container inside httpd.conf is all is required but cPanel may not allow for all it's wisdom.
Let me know if cPanel would pose a problem or wouldn't allow this scenario.

Addon Domains Moving To Parked
I have a reseller account in WHM and CPANEL. With that I have a range of sites under it created in Cpanel under addon domains. Everything works fine, then suddenly everything goes down, and all leads to the main site. Reason is, it shows all the domains in Cpanel as parked! Even removing them from there or WHM causes it to dissappear from the addon section and not show up online. Now it happened months ago where httpd.conf file had to be edited manually. And it just happened about 30hrs ago. Does anyone know why this would happen? I have asked my datacentre 3 times, with no clear answer about it, except it just does. How can it be prevented in future? Also asked my datacentre this with no answer. Will be putting up a review of them soon, and it will be the complete opposite of what I thought of them before.

I just when found this domain on google when I was make some search of content of my site I found domain as a parked domain and work for my site! so I go to cpanel and parked domain but not found any thing so what this mean how someone have parked domain for my site and when i go to cpanel noting foudn also when I go to whm and accoubt listed I don’t find that domain?

Parked Domains Over Addon Domains
I have 2 wordpress blogs, and I'd like a few different domains to be shared on each of them. Using some exemples, suppose I have domains from domainA.com to domainE.com. domainA.com is my main domain and the others are addon domains. Today Blog1 is using blog.domainA.com, and domainB.com and domainC.com use WebRedirect to blog.domainA.com. And Blog2 uses domainD.com with WebRedirect on domainE.com too. To access a post like /2008/02/02/this-is-a-nice-post, it is available only at blog.domainA.com, and not by domains B and C. I'd like they 3 to be able to access all posts directly, without redirecting to domain A. To do that, I suppose I'd need to do some config on cPanel. And also on wordpress, even if I replicate it over other domains it insists to redirect to its configured domain. I was thinking on the possibility of using symbolic link (ln -s) on their folders to blog.domainA.com folder, but I don't have access to shell on SSH so I'd like to know if it would work before trying. In a real exemple of what I want, these domains all share the same phpBB forum: forumpcs.com.br, extremepc.com.br, forumdohardware.com.br. Do u know if symbolic link would work to share the same wordpress? And how to make wordpress stop redirecting to blog.domainA.com?

CPanel Parked Domain Email
I have a domain hosted which is the primary domain with all its file hosted, it also has its own email accounts setup. I now have another domain, i want to make the new domain the primary domain for the account which is hosting my website and the previous domain to be parked on top of it - this is with the use of cPanel. Now from what ive experienced i should be able to use and setup email accounts from within cPanel from both domains. This is my question. The previous domain already has email accounts setup, if i make the switch and make it a parked domain onto the new primary domain will i still be able to retain the same email accounts/passwords/email? e.g. if i have email@[url]after the switch i want email@[url]to be under the new primary account[url]

Addon Domain
I have a domain with 2 addon domains added to it. Lets call the domain1.com and the addons are domain2.com and domain3.com I transfered the sites from one server to my server and know if I try to goto domain2.com or domain3.com they are not found. If I goto domain1.com/domain2 (or 3) it works just fine though. I tried to do the addon domain in cpanel but it is coming up with the following errors. Bind reloading on server using rndc zone: [domain1.com] The subdomain, domain2.domain1.com has been added. Error from park wrapper: domain2.com is already configured. Removed domain2.domain1.com Server at line: 1244. Removed Entry from httpd.conf Bind reloading on server using rndc zone: [domain1.com] The subdomain, domain2.domain1.com has been removed. domain2.com could not be setup. The subdomain domain2.domain1.com was not setup either. How can I fix this? I did try to make domain2 its own account after that, but the script did not work for some reason even though it does if I goto domain1.com/domain2. I know it must be something simple I am missing, but for the life of me I am drawing a blank. Also, I moved the site by doing a complete backup in Cpanel and uploaded that to the new server and restored it from the WHM backup screen.

Addon Domain
I currently have an established domain, mainsite.com, which is running PHP-Nuke on the directory /home, with a redirect accordingly. Now, I've created an addon domain, 2ndsite.com, for which I've installed Wordpress at the top-level. The trouble is, 2ndsite.com defaults to mainsite.com/home - unless I redirect 2ndsite.com to mainsite.com/2ndsite. If I do that, I can then see my WordPress installation. I'd obviously like to have 2ndsite.com be viewed from that address, as opposed to a subdir under mainsite.com - that is why I got the domain in the first place.

I create a abc.com domain hosting in whm. then I login to abc.com cpanel to AddOn Domain. I try to addon xyz.com into abc.com cpanel. But when i enter to xyz.com website it always show "Great Success ! Apache is working on your cPanel and WHM™ Server" cPanel and Apache page. Restoring Accounts To Addon Domain
Currently, 2 domains hosted on a dedicated server with each account having its own Cpanel. I'm going to move/migrate these 2 domains to a shared hosting server. The shared hosting accont has Cpanel and I've added 2 Add-on domains (the same ones on the dedicated). In total, there are 3 domains under the shared hosting account; The main domain and the 2 other (add-on) domains. My question is it possible to restore these 2 accounts under a single cpanel account and having all the emails intact? Addon Domain, Cant Have Password Protected Folders
I have 2 domains on 1 account. My main website is www.aviationcafe.net and i added on www.modelcuir.com thats what it looks like to the public. But with my host it will be www.modelcuir.aviationcafe.net. I noticed in the files area that modelcuir is it's own file, i can password protect that but it will stop people getting onto the website completly and i only want to stop them getting into the members area. I can't create a members area either unless i can add a new folder which i can't i dont think.

E-mail From Addon Domain Flagged As Junk
I have an addon domain running on my webhosting along side my primary account. I am mostly using the Thunderbird client to send e-mails. 80% of the time when I send a mail out from "name@addondomain.com" hotmail, gmail, yahoo all see it as spam! What's ironic is I receive more darn adult e-mails in my free accounts than anything else, and yet it's thinking the occasional mass personal message is SPAM? So these guys that flood my inbox daily must know something I don't? Is there something I'm doing incorrectly? Or do I need to change a hosting package setting, should I use different software such as a php mailing list?

Addon Domains Vs Separate Domain Pros/cons
I'm trying to understand more the Pro's and Con's for having an Addon Domain vs Separate domain. Here's my use for it. Site1.com holds all the files, Site2.com holds all the video and images. When it comes time to add a second server (end of this year) I could move Site2.com to a second server and nfs mount it. Thats of the site is separate. PROBLEM: separate site means permission problems, when write code ie.php you can unlink / move files without permission which means setting up special groups. Addon domain doesn't have the permission problem from what I can see, since the domain gets the group access of the Mainsite. so no extra configuration required. now the problem would be how do I get that addon domain to a second server to offload some of the resources.

Lets say I have abcd.com as the main domain on cpanel. abcd.com has 10 subdomains. Basically what I want to do is when I do an addon domain or parked domain I want the subdomains to basically point to abcd.com automatically. Do Any Good Hosts Provide A CPanel That Keeps Addon Domain Lists In Order
I find that I like using CPanel with addon domains in a new unlimited domains shared plan rather than using WHM with each name having its own CPanel in a reseller plan (which I have been used to until now at another host). The only problem is that all the addon domains are out of order - they are not even in the order in which I add them. This puts a damper on things and makes managing them much less efficient than one would expect with the addons in order. After putting in a support ticket, I was told they can't do anything about it at all. They told me the order of the listing is the order in the "mail server apache configuration." After posting this matter here in the Apache forum, I have been informed by an SP member that the answer I got wouldn't hold any water at all, or more accurately, consists of a whole lot of smoke. As a person who knows how easy and basic it is to sort data lists or drop-down form selector fields myself, I must admit that it's hard to believe nothing can be done in the 21st century. I have no desire at all to go with another reseller plan, and like using CPanel instead with addons. Does anyone know of the good and well known unlimited domain hosting providers who keep the addon domains in order within CPanel? Is there any other good option for shared hosting that doesn't involve using WHM and does offer common sense multiple domain management where everything is in order?

it's possible to stop the redirection of a parked domain URL to my primary site. For instance if my primary domain was abcd.com and i parked iloveyager.com ontop of it. The redirection im talking about is this. If i go to iloveyager.com/shots/ works fine. however if i go to iloveyager.com/shots (without the trailing slash) it will redirect me to abcd.com/shots Doesn't mod_dir cover the redirection of a URL with and without a trailing slash? I know there has to be a workaround for my problem and whether it lies in a .htaccess rewrite or modifying my apache conf is.

Change Needed To Parked Account MX Forward?
II just transfered domain hosting from my clients old host to my server. The new website is up-and-running without problems. At his request, I use a MX --> A redirect to send his mail to his local server at his business, where he wishes to receive it. It is setup as follows: Main domain (xyz.net) MX ->> extmail.xyz.net. extmail "A" ->> 99.99.999.99 (at the clients local server) Here is the PROBLEM. The client has a secondary parked account that just directs to the main account. The client has email MX forwarding from that account, which does not seem to be forwarding correctly after this changeover described above --- it is not being delivered. Question: Do I have to change the MX pointer at the secondary domain to point ->> to extmail.xyz.net? it is currently set to point to mail.xyz.net.

Changed Dns, But Still Showing Parked Page?
I changed the dns for a domain I purchased yesterday to a parking service at parked.com Last night I changed the name servers to my hostgator ones. It worked. I was installing joomla, and publishing the site. Everything was fine when I went to bed. So I wake up this morning.. now when I go to the site it shows the stupid parked.com parking page instead of what I was working on. I deleted all the cache, history, temp internet files, cookies, everything.. I tried in firefox, and IE. I tried on two different computers. I can't get my site to load up. I called hostgator and they said the site is fine and they don't see a park page. They told me just to clear my cache again. the site is www.wiispecs.com I would appreciate it if someone could check it out and tell me what site they see. I could use any ideas on how to fix this so I can view the page too. I tried switching name servers to godaddy and then switching back to hostgator. I also emailed parked.com tech support.

Been browsing the site and would value your opinions. Addon domains are supplied by some webhosts and not others, one of the hosts who does not supply any addon domains puts across a good argument that they can overload a server if they get out of control. Addon Domains And Subdomains
I have a main domain "main.com" and when I make a new addon domain "new.com", it creates a new DNS Zone for "new.com" but also adds a subdomain DNS entry to main.com "new.main.com". I know that is very typical way that cpanel works, and I know there are ways to work around this by using .htaccess. What I am trying to discover is if removing the "new" subdomain DNS entry under main.com could cause any problems. Are there side effects? Will this break anything within my VPS?

CP Addon Scripts Not Working.
The scripts in the scripts library in Cpanel are not working for one client. I am not a reseller, but I currently use a reseller account to manage several separate sites of mine. I know that it is possible under a standard cPanel account to have addon domains, where the html files go in a subfolder of the main domain. If you do this: - is it possible for people to access the addon site files using www.maindomain/addondomain, and if so can you stop this? - do you still get separate email addresses and spamassassin settings for the addon domain? - do you get separate web server logs for each domain, for stats? - is there any other reason why it might still be better to pay more for a reseller account so that each site can be managed completely separately?

Directory Structure And Addon Domains
I have a shared hosting account. VPS or dedicated is not an option. I use CPanel. For example, www .maindomain. com is the primary domain associated with the hosing account. When adding subdomains or addon domains, a new directory is created in the public_html directory of my hosting account. These new directories hold all the files for the sub domains and addon domains. My problem is that the directory that holds the subdomain or addon domain CAN BE accessed from: [url] or www .maindomain. com/addon_domain_directory/ thus, www .addon_domain. com can be accessed from it's own URL as well as www .maindomain. com/addon_domain_directory/ Is there a solution that DOES NOT allow this to happen? If my main domain could have it's own directory under public_html, that would be great, but I do not know if this is possible. WHM PHP Addon Script
i created a script for WHM, and i set it up. It in PHP, it works fine from the admin interface. But when i logon to that addon through a clients interface, it doesn't read the PHP... it just displays the code as if it were a txt file... Addon & Subdomain On CPANEL
I got many complaints from our customer that are using addon domain facilites. They cannot add mail account, see site stats, etc. I checked on /var/cpanel/users, there's no domain for addon domain they have but DNS zone is still there. When I log in to their CPANEL, addon domain was still there too. Anyone have the same issues? We have this problem raised since about 2 weeks ago on 4 of our servers.

Header Redirects On "Parked"Domains
I am moving several (small) corporate websites over from an iPower VPS (terrible host btw) to LiquidWeb, which means I'm learning all the nuances in the new CP (WHM, cPanel). Now one company has three domain names (with employee only sections), all pointing to the same website (alias/parked domains). In Plesk, if I set them up as Alias domains, going to domain.com or domain.net pointed to the same website, but maintained the domain URL in the address bar indefinitely. Now on the new host, I have them set up as parked domains in cPanel (I thought this was the equivilant to alias). If a user goes to domain.net and follows a link on the page, they are taking to domain.net/link, as it should be. However when an employee attempts to login at domain.net/login, the form action points to the login script, which in turn uses a PHP Header redirect to take them to the home page (or whichever page they attempted to access when not logged in). But when the header redirects them, it redirects to the domain.com logged in home page, and as the domain has changed it fails the session validation script, so they get redirected to domain.com/login, saying they are not logged in. I put a note on the login page explaining you may have to login twice for now, but as you know some people just can't understand the interwebz, so I'm still getting lots of emails and phone calls about people not being able to login. Anyway, long story short, where should I start about fixing this problem? I haven't a clue about how WHM/cPanel manages parked domains and how it configures them, so I'm lost about where I should start looking.

Reverse Domain Name Server (DNS) ARPA For Domain On VPS
I have a vps with dedicated ip's for my domain names. I read that in order for mails coming from my server not be picked up as spam, i need to add reverse ip entries. Now i have already added the glue nameserver records on my godaddy control panel, ns1.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.40 ns2.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.41 But do i need to speak to the datacenter to add the reverse dns entries for my domain on their nameservers? What about if i host my nameservers offsite, but then have my webserver/mailserver etc inside the datacenter? Would i need to request the datacenter where the nameservers are hosted to add the reverse ip entries for the domain, and then the request the same from the datacenter for my web/mail servers to add the reverse entries? Is it really required?

Domain Parking - Wildcard Domain Name Server (DNS)?
We have a lot of unused domains that we'd like to setup domain parking for. To keep it simple, we'd like to just change the namesevers to ns1.domainparking.com and ns2.domainparking.com (not real nameservers!) and the domains would then automatically show a simple web page. i have about 8 different domains i'd like to point to a nameserver (ns1./ns2.mydomain.com) on Win2k3 server, but i can't get them resolved through my nameserver without creating a manual forward lookup entry for each *parked* domain separatly.. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I have gone over the DNS records countless times and see no problems. The site is hosted on my own dedicated server.
