Strange Domain Become Parked Domain- Is This Hacked
Nov 9, 2007
I just when found this domain on google when I was make some search of content of my site
I found domain as a parked domain and work for my site!
so I go to cpanel and parked domain but not found any thing
so what this mean how someone have parked domain for my site and when i go to cpanel noting foudn also when I go to whm and accoubt listed I don’t find that domain?
OK, I am confused. I have one domain that is parked on top of another domain. I would like Mail that comes to the parked domain to be automatically forwarded to the same user name at the primary domain.
Can I change a DNS or MX record to facilitate this?
Hostgator.com's cheapest package "Hatchling" does not allow parked domain. Does that mean I will have to register/purchase a new domain name from them directly?
Can a domain be parked on an addon domain in a cPanel server?
At first thought I do not see it as a problem as a ServerAlias directive for the parked inside the addon domain Virtual Host container inside httpd.conf is all is required but cPanel may not allow for all it's wisdom.
Let me know if cPanel would pose a problem or wouldn't allow this scenario.
I have a domain hosted which is the primary domain with all its file hosted, it also has its own email accounts setup.
I now have another domain, i want to make the new domain the primary domain for the account which is hosting my website and the previous domain to be parked on top of it - this is with the use of cPanel.
Now from what ive experienced i should be able to use and setup email accounts from within cPanel from both domains.
This is my question.
The previous domain already has email accounts setup, if i make the switch and make it a parked domain onto the new primary domain will i still be able to retain the same email accounts/passwords/email?
e.g. if i have email@[url]after the switch i want email@[url]to be under the new primary account[url]
Is it possible to redirect parked domains in cPanel to a different URL? I want to redirect each domain to a different url. Can this be done via cPanel or .htaccess?
If you go to the secure (https) then it works fine.
The httpd.include file for the domain is ok:
<VirtualHost 87.117.194.71:443>
<VirtualHost 87.117.194.71:80>
Also, if you go to the IP 87.117.194.71 then it times out. If you go to secure 87.117.194.71 it works ? This is a dedicated IP, only this domain is configured for it.
I have other domains setup on this server and they all work fine, some are on a shared ip and some on a dedicated ip but this is the only one that will not work. Can anyone help?
Hope there is a DNS expert about that can make sense of what I observe and give an unbiased opinion.
We are currenlty evaluating hosted DNS providers. Anycast DNS seems like a great feature to have and we want fail over too. Narrowed down a list of possible suppliers: DNS Made Easy, Netriplex and Dynect.
After reading up on some blogs 1 & 2 mainly, we setup a Pingdom test to evaluate our three candidates.
For DME I used their own site URL for testing, Netriplex and Dynect gave us dedicated test accounts.
The average response times roughly follow the prices, DME is slowest, Netriplex next and Dynect is the winner. I have detailed logs in anyone is interested (in CSV).
Now for the unexpected results. All 3 providers give very long response times a few times a day - sometimes as long as 5 or 10 seconds. Now and again we see a timeout - i.e. a response of over 15 seconds.
We cross checked by running a testing our current non-anycast Rackspace DNS - similar outliers are present too.
Pingdom tech support think these outliers could be due to peering issues on the internet.
I would expect anycast DNS to be much more robust and to give decent response times even if there are localised networking issues.
So our outliers are either down to the way Pingdom does the testing, or just a 'feature' of the way DNS works.
Anyone with any bright ideas on how to explain this?
A while back you could see the following information regarding facebook.com:

This is the second time this week that my website was hacked. On the first hack attempt they somehow got into my cpanel and corrupted my license file which I had my host fix. Other than that the only damage done was an html file that replaced my main page. Then today, I find that my website has been further compromised, but by a completely different group. The first hacker was g3n3t1x and this second hack was done by www.turkishdefacerteam.com
Now, the problem is my sites dedicated IP is 72.36.192.150, and my domain name is gamingguilds.net, but if you resolve the domain name, it resolves to 74.53.52.66. I have checked my nameservers and everything is set properly. But the thing I don't get is that when you type in my domain name in a web browser, you see my website. How can it be resolving to the wrong IP and STILL show my website. Also note that when you type in my dedicated IP it would still show my website (before this second attack).
Now after the second attack, my dedicated IP no longer works, I cant get into cpanel using the IP, I cant get into my FTP account, and I get view my website. Yet if you use the domain name to log into cpanel or view the website it works. The strange part here is that I can't get into the FTP using the domain name.
SO, if you go to [url]you see a blank cpanel site, if you go to [url] you get a 404 error, and if you go to www.gamingguilds.net you get my website.
I've been handling the design and updates for a local private school for a few years now. They use HostOnce for hosting. Over 2 weeks ago I noticed that when I try to bring the site up in a browser I get a login prompt - [url]. I've submitted several help desk tickets to HostOnce with no response. Since school is starting, I recommended the school change hosting providers. So they bought hosting with GoDaddy who I also use. But now I need to transfer the domain name and I can't get a response from HostOnce. I send an email requesting that they initiate the domain transfer to GoDaddy every day with no response.
Besides a few email addresses and the help desk, there doesn't seem to be any way I can get in touch with anyone at HostOnce. What options do I have left? The school is currently stuck with a site that can't be accessed. The company seems to be in Australia but I've read the phone number listed for them does not work. I'm looking for a US phone number or something.
When I hit my server's domain it redirects me to one of the hosted sites' domain with a 302 redirect. It used to return the default plesk server page. How can I cancel the redirect?
We have a lot of unused domains that we'd like to setup domain parking for.
To keep it simple, we'd like to just change the namesevers to ns1.domainparking.com and ns2.domainparking.com (not real nameservers!) and the domains would then automatically show a simple web page.
We use cpanel servers and are wondering how easy this is to do? I've seem mention of wildcard dns? Is that the answer?
i have about 8 different domains i'd like to point to a nameserver (ns1./ns2.mydomain.com) on Win2k3 server, but i can't get them resolved through my nameserver without creating a manual forward lookup entry for each *parked* domain separatly..
Does anyone know how to resolve "parked" domains automatically on Win2k3 DNS??
I just can't find any answer for this, everything i've found required manual creation of lookup entries..
But do i need to speak to the datacenter to add the reverse dns entries for my domain on their nameservers? What about if i host my nameservers offsite, but then have my webserver/mailserver etc inside the datacenter? Would i need to request the datacenter where the nameservers are hosted to add the reverse ip entries for the domain, and then the request the same from the datacenter for my web/mail servers to add the reverse entries?
I've been having some DNS problems with one of my domains for quite some time now. The domain does not always resolve - some go days without being able to access the site.
I ran a simple BASH script to show what I mean. I replaced my domain with "mysite.net" and the IP with "xx.xx.xxx.xxx".
# for i in `seq 1 15`; do host mysite.net; done
mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. Host mysite.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL) mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx Host mysite.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL) mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx Host mysite.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL) mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx Host mysite.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL) mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx Host mysite.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL) Host mysite.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL) mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx Host mysite.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL) mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx Host mysite.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL) mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net. mysite.net has address xx.xx.xxx.xxx mysite.net mail is handled by 0 mysite.net.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I have gone over the DNS records countless times and see no problems. The site is hosted on my own dedicated server.
Okay guys, a quick question for all the gurus out there. I'll admit I'm a bit embarassed posting such an easy question, but give a guy a break, I've been using managed servers for god knows how long and I've finally decided to take a dive into administration. Everything is firewalled and secured properly, I'm just having trouble getting the ServerAlias to work right.
What happens is I go into my browser and enter in [url]walaa! It works.
Now, when I enter in [url], it does not resolve.
I have checked with "dig" the domain settings and it looks as though all of the nameservers are set up fine, this is an apache problem. I'm running apache 2.2 on Ubuntu 7.10 for all those who are interested.
Here is my etc/apache2/sites-available/domain.com:
<VirtualHost *:80>
# Admin email, Server Name (domain name) and any aliases ServerAdmin webmaster@domain1.com ServerName domain.com ServerAlias www.domain.com
# Index file and Document Root (where the public files are located) DirectoryIndex index.html DocumentRoot /home/demo/public_html/domain.com/public
I´ve a domain but haven´t set the DNS servers yet....now I get a free hosting and I wanted to associate the DNS servers to my domain but I don´t know how!!!
It would be great If you could help me...and let me know if you need more info..
However I am at the same time retaining the old.domain to keep the older links working
I want that the old.domain/link redirect to new.domain/link
Please advice what would be best to do for the old.domain -
1) Domain forwarding 2) Domain parking
or Both the above
(The other thing is that I would like to do 301 redirect - would this happen automatically by activating the above options - or something else has to be done)
