I'm tranferring files from one server to another, and it is rather large. When I dissonect from SSH it seems like the command stops.
How do I make it continue whether or not the ssh session is still active?
for example i run one command :
wget test.com/file.zip
this file is 100 gig
will time i run this command,if my internet going to dc(disconnect) this command going to stop
is any way for solve this problem?
that if i run this command,if my net going to dc,but this command continue

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently brought a new server, works fine however when ever i run the command "make" either apache, eaccelerator or any kind of software a few seconds later the server hangs. It is then hard rebooted, no errors are shown the server just freezes.
Ive had a OS reinstall.
am trying to used "make command"
[root@box ~]# makemake: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.[root@box ~]#
and when i try to install it by "yum install make"

Just recently (after update #46) Fail2Ban stopped working and I couldn't restart it or pin point the reason behind it. I decided to uninstall F2B component via Plesk installer.
F2B uninstalled however when I try to install it again I get error : 'Installation will not continue'
Where to start and where can I find log files that could give me some clues?
We have a bunch of domains we use to forward into various locations on our site, so for instance: [url] would forward to [url].
I am currently running a Windows 2k3 Server with IIS6. The way I achieve these forwards is to set up another site, put the forwarding domain in the host header, then have it forward out to my desired directory. However, now Google has been picking up my forwarding domains with their robots, and getting addresses like [url],
which does not exist, just [url]does, so people are getting returned a lot of 404 errors.
How can I stop this? Am I setting up the domain forwarding wrong?
I've been reading, and it seems that I have to use ACL. But, how do I setup a proper ACL to keep my server from being an open relay?

So, in my database connection, if I am using mysql server as localhost, that variable is not applied? In that case, how can I close connections automatically after xxx seconds?

this problem comes at home but not in office. I am able to access my ftp a/c with same user name and password but in home it i got the error.

Since moving servers I've been plagued by constant disconnects whilst using FTP:
421 No transfer timeout (300 seconds): closing control connection
I've gone through Proftpd's forum and documentation numerous times to try and find a solution to this but have been unsuccessful so far.
Within proftpd's config file it's set at:
TimeoutLogin 120
TimeoutIdle 3600
TimeoutNoTransfer 3600
TimeoutStalled 3600
So I am unsure where it is getting the "300 seconds" from.
Even though the error states 300 seconds, this problem happens way before 300 seconds every time and has happened during the transfer of files (when the connection has been active and in use).
I've tried 3 different FTP clients and used the "Keep Alive" option in each and it has absolutely no effect.
I am unsure if APF is causing the problem, I can't see any problems in any of the server logs in relation to ftp.
Is there a command i can type into the ssh console to stop a current transfer that i started wit the wget command?
the file im wgeting always stuffs up at 51% but then the server just retries and starts again, its done it 3 times so far and i just want to completely cancle the process if possible....
What is the purpose of making the switch. If i were to get "unlimited/umetered" shared hosting with cpanel, how is that different then getting a vps with cpanel?

I tried make a fullbackup in cPanel but failed.
Then i tried create a zip file from folder but it's don't allow over 500MB a file.
How to make a backup now?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a directory, "hello", so I log in via SSH and CD to /proc, as this is where I want the directory to be. I type, "mkdir hello" and I get the following;
mkdir: cannot create directory `hello': No such file or directory
I've searched around for the error, and I've found two mentioned problems;
Persmissions
Parent directory doesn't exist.
However, the parent directory; /proc does exist and it has the permissions 7777.
i'm trying to configure PHP, as I really need to turn magic quotes off and raise the memory limit. i don't want to use .htaccess - too many sites

well, to make it short, I ran 'phpinfo()' to see where php.ini was: etc/php.ini
I change that, restart httpd, nothing happens. restart the server, nothing still. my changes are not applied when I run 'phpinfo()' again.
i try 'locate php.ini' from the terminal, there are a few!

the problem is that I tried to open all of them, to see where the hell php was getting the settings from, but none of them seem to reflect php's settings.
meaning, I don't know what file I can use to configure PHP.
all of them, for instance, say 'memory_limit: 32M', but php is set at 8M, and phpinfo() tells me memory_limit 8M.
any idea why this might be happening?

If your happy with your current hosting provider why change? Maybe you have found a better deal, but is it really worth it to switch to save a few bucks if your happy, I would say no.

I would like set backup for my vps in a specific way but it seem is not possible..
I would like set weekly backup for the whole vps accounts. This can be set easily by choosing "weekly" and by ticking Retention option Monthly..Like that daily and monthly backup will be not performed and only weekly backup will be done...well. Now I would like allow for some specific account more interval like also daily or also monthly or also daily and monthly...
This seem to be not possible under WHM....I see only the option to choose some specific account to make or not backups...but not to choose more interval..
So I must probably do that manually and set a cron job for the specific account I need but not see exactly how I must do..In fact am not very confident with SSH and I don't know exactly what code to type...
