How to dump all relaying email?
I have a domain that used to have a huge members list with thousands of email addresses. Now that I enabled its web site, the server attempts to relay email meant for those harvested addresses. Also, spam relayers picked up that the DNS is live and try to use the domain to deliver spam What can I do with the MX records in order to dump all email without the server handling it? Currently all email is set to :blackhole:

I have a server at The Planet that runs Cent OS with cPanel/WHM. It is using Exim as the mail transport.
I am having a problem with gmail.com accounts relaying mail through my server.
I would like to have only domains that I host be allowed to send mail through my server. How can I accomplish this?

I have enabled the backup rotation of some websites to my "Personal FTP Repository", the problem is that Plesk is unable to do it due this error:

Unable to rotate dump: The dump rotation is failed with code '121' at /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager line 1041.
I read here [URL] .... that it should be solved but I have the version 12.0.18 Update #33, why does it persist?

One of my clients has a couple of servers from me.
In the course of my work, I've setup various people to send mail via one of these servers, using SMTP on port 587.
Can I see on the server who has been using it to send via port 587? I didn't keep a record, the server is closing down and I'd like to let as many people as possible know that they need to change their SMTP settings .. there are only 50 or so I think.

My VPS Config:
centos with webmin
mail program sendmail
Its a newly configured VPS have a problem with smtp realying through outlook and other smtp programs. When i use smtp on outlook it give following error:

I've got a domain name ("problemdomain.com") on my server (CentOS 4, WHM/cPanel) that has been set up with Postini for quite some time. All has been working & routing correctly. I recently changed to a new server with a new IP address. I transferred the account so that the DNS is setup identically on the new server. The only thing that changed is the main server IP, and the IP addresses that ns1.myserver.com and ns2.myserver.com resolve to. That propagation went through today and should be well set in.
Now, whenever you send an email to someone on this domain, it gets bounced back with the following:

mail@problemdomain.com
Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 13): 550-exprod8mx214.postini.com (psmtp.com) [64.18.3.114] is currently not

The way I have the DNS setup on the server for the MX records is as follows:

problemdomain.com., 14400, IN MX, 200, laserskinsurgery.com.s8a2.psmtp.com.
problemdomain.com., 14400, IN MX, 300, laserskinsurgery.com.s8b1.psmtp.com.
problemdomain.com., 14400, IN MX, 400, laserskinsurgery.com.s8b2.psmtp.com.
This DNS is exactly the way it was setup before when it was working. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I have two domains that I recently "re-animated" and they are been used as spam relays. I get almost 2 connections per second, according to the exim log.
I use ConfigServer Security & Firewall http://www.configserver.com/cp/csf.html which can block IP's that exceed a number of SMTP connections per hour. But these are thousands of IPs and proxies. Is there anything else I can do?

I can't figure out how to be able to send mails using sendmail. I've a dovecot/sendmail installation and I can recieve mails OK but when I try to send mail I get the error message "Relaying denied. Proper authentication required."
Example from maillog:

I facing a serious problem with my qmail and plesk 11.0.9.I found the way spammer did with my server by listening everything on port 25. Maybe he know the RCPT hosts of mine, and they send emails with random username but with domain hosted on my Plesk. (user1@mydomain.com, user2@ my domain.com, ... userxxx@mydomain.com).
qmail only check domain in RCPT if spammer input:"mail from user1@mydomain.com" - (with out ":") - no email address on my server.then server reply: 550, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.7.17)
But qmail check username and domain if spammer input:""mail from: user1@mydomain.com" - (with ":") - no email address on my server. Then server reply: 250 OK..This is really weird! I tried with all my plesk server, this bug still effected.Click to expand...

I love my current host. It's fast, has excellent support, uptime is great, and I get a lot of features. I'm paying $10 a month for it, though.
I'm thinking about moving to 1&1. Is this a bad idea? I had 1&1 about a year or two ago, but canceled it because I didn't end up building the website I ordered it for. Didn't have any issues, but the cancellation process was a pain. Nothing major, though.
The thing that 1&1 has going for is it is the price. $4 a month is a darn good deal.
That's 2.5x cheaper than my current host. I could save a lot of money. I know, you get what you pay for...
So am I being stupid? I don't use a lot of bandwidth (I used 1.5GB last month, and average less than 1GB), and my website hosts my software that I sell, so a lot of downtime is obviously bad. The only thing I see that's bad about the $4/month plan is no ssh access, which is really only convenience for me (I don't require it).

I am having a hosting account with old host which is limited to 10 GB, and there i am having a mysql Database which is of 2 GB, i want to move it to new host via SSH ... as that Database can not be downloaded via phpmyadmin due to its size.
So i want to "tar" the mysql directory and ssh/scp to new host!...
I am applying this command...
tar -cvf r.tar /var/lib/mysql/in_supp | ssh user@newhost.com
But i am getting errors,
Please give me a command which can move my entire Database dump to new server, without creating any copy at old server "as i do not have any space there"

Files such as core.12762 keep appearing in the root web directory. Amount of core files appearing seems to be proportional to traffic. On average one core file per few million php requests.
Will appreciate advice on how to troubleshoot this issue, or how to disable the core dumping. As it is one error per few million requests it does not seem significant enough to spend several hours troubleshooting.

This seemed like the most appropriate place so I decided to post here.
SYSTEM:
Fedora Core 4, 3GHz, 2GB RAM
Postgres 8, Apache 2, PHP 4
The issue is that I have with me a 1.5GB SQL dump from Postgres 8 which I extracted using pg_dump.
Restoring it seems to be an issue on this PC. I've tried modifying memory directives in postgresql.conf as well as the kernels SHMAX value but no go.
I tried a bunch of other things such as gzipping the file so that it was only 100mb and doing:

gunzip -c dump.sql.gz | psql my_db
But I recieved many errors saying "invalid command N" and I also got a syntax error notice and the process terminated.
I tried to at least try and enter some data manually but vim is incredibly slow since this is a 1.5GB file.
Is there a way I could perhaps split up my db dump and then import them into the db one by one?

recently I had problems with backing up my ~150mb database through PHP. And I know some people are backing their databases to a dump file through terminal.
My database contains UTF-8 and other characters. I have tried simply dumping with mysqldump but I doesn't seem to work, when restoring all the characters are messed up.
Is there any command to tell that the database is UTF-8?

After successful creation of a full backup, pmm-ras hangs forever (100% CPU) while trying to export the dump to FTP. I have two identical Plesk 12.0.18 installations and this happens only on one of them.
I see the following in /opt/psa/PMM/sessions/*/.stderr:

How does one dump the contents of a Qmail?
That is emails that are waiting to be sent which are not going to be sent since they are bad emails so they are just stuck in the queue and are killing cpu resources, how does one tell Qmail to dump all unsent emails waiting in the queue?

Beginning with today, all Backups to FTP repository failed. Even updates being started manually fail.
FTP Space is not full, there are still app. 400GB free space left.
I was also able to do a ftp upload on terminal using ftp client.
Server is accessible, credentials are right, but backup fails.
Why backup stops working after having done login.
This are the last few lines of the current psadump.log (removed server url and username):

under Plesk 12.0.18 PHPMyAdmin is failing to import a 3 MB SQL dump of a simple Joomla website. "Error 505 Bad Gateway", it says.It happens with other dumps too, some as small as ~500 KB. The format (SQL or ZIP) of the file uploaded doesn't seem to matter, because the upload itself seems to work; it seems it's the post-processing what is raising the error.
The funny thing is that the import itself seems to work (the contents of the SQL dump are imported), but the error message appears and causes confusion and support requests from our clients./var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log says:

I have an issue on a Plesk 11 Installation
Every time a backup task finishes (full server or a single domain) i get the following error:

On our Centos 6.5 Vps with Plesk 12.0.18 the scheduled backup to a personal repository ftp fails every time with this error:
