View 9 RepliesI'm migrating all of my websites form one server to a new one. And everything is working as planned with the plesk migration manager. But with my last website i'm having some problems and getting this error:
Short Error: Adding webspace manually
Code:
Error: System user update is failed: Unable to create system user: Unable to execute usermng: column login is not unique (Error code 1)
Full Error Log - Migration
Code:
Warning: server "server"
Unable to dump server settings. Server element will be empty[Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]
Warning: domain "teamswear.be"
[Code] ....
I've also tried to add the webspace manually but getting the same error.
I'm about to the point where I am ready to host my website. I already have a domain but no hosting plan. In the future I may want to have several different websites each with their own unique domain. I was wondering if I choose a hosting plan for one site, can I use the unused web space for additional domains/websites?

ERROR: Call to a member function getDomainId() on a non-object (AccountController.php:77)
I created a FTP account with vsftp and files uploaded are not readable via www-data
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have already an dedicated server, but with an strong traffic limit, so i search webspace (filespace) for my thumbnail images, the space is only for the images, no php scripts or databases are needed just imagespace.
the hoster should tolerate adult content, and have no problem with 500gb bandwith per month. Paypal should be accepted as payment.
its important for me that the webhoster follow their offers and dont kick me if i use high bandwith....
I am planning on getting a Web-Hosting account next week for a website I am building.
Some questions related to this...
1.) I believe that if you edit the .htaccess file in Apache, you can create a Log-In page of sorts to prevent people from going beyond your domain/IP address without logging in.
But can I do that with a web-host like GoDaddy on a shared account?
2.) Is there a way to restrict visitors to a certain folder?
Lets say I want a "MyDevDirectory" just for me, but a "TesterDirectory" for people on SitePoint who are nice enough to look at my code.
since 2 month i have a linux gold webspace package from the hoster leaseweb.
The speed of my webspace is very slowly from time to time.
Are the server from leaseweb faster?
when I try to activate a new subscription (webspace) comes out an error as attached image, which tells me that there is already a user account and a DNS record, but in reality do not exist and therefore can not delete them.
View 8 Replies View Relatedcheap-ish place to host a PROTOTYPE website. We're going to need php + mysql, but we're going to need to have more control such as root SSH access.
Here is the list of what we need to start with:
SSH access
PHP 5
Java
MYSQL 4 or 5
Apache 2
SendMail
Any ISP recommendations?
For now this is just a prototype, and it will NOT get hammered with
traffic. But we do need an outfit that is efficient and reliable.

I have one webspace with few domains.
Today, i would like to move an existing domain to a separate webspace (a new one) ? Is it possible ?
I can't see any button in the admin panel.
Does anybody understand what is going on here?
Here is the problem:
I log in to FTP and I try and upload an updated file (the file already exists on server). It prompts me to overwrite and I say yes but when I refresh/check the site the page hasnt changed - I then tried uploading the file again and it still says the existing file size (so I know it hasnt been replace).
Any idea why it it not overwriting?
The files are CHOWNed my the owner (FTP user) which is myself.
I want to filter any files uploaded and i have put this line at php.ini
suhosin.upload.verification_script = /my path
But my problem till now i can not make this script. (Disable upload php files)
I uploaded my file to web server(html, image file and css file), but strangely after uploaded it to server all file that I uploaded size 0 KB. I uploaded it using WS FTP.
Is there something wrong the way I uploaded it.
Been a Plesk user since 8.6, and have to admit the new interface in 10.x and 11.x is taking some getting used to.
First gripe is why is the dropdown list of Webspaces not in any order? I have lots of different webspaces for different customers, and its just in one unorganized list.
Can we change this?
Plesk 11.5.30 all latest updated installed is used with Power-User view on an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 Bit system.
The Plesk Interface is working well in general. But if the customer clicks on "Webspaces" -> Add Webspace they run in a:
[URL] ....
Browser:
502 Bad Gateway
nginx
To try to fix it with:
/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/nginxmng --disable
/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng --reconfigure-all
/etc/init.d/apache2 restart
/etc/init.d/ngnix restart ( does not work anyway since the customer is not using it ) -> ngnix_enable=no
Which did not work ( ngnix is and was not active )
In the log /var/log/sw-cp-server/error.log
we can see:
[error] 1936#0: *180 recv() failed (104: Connection reset by peer) while reading response header from upstream, client: 84.177.142.220, server: , request: "GET /smb/account/create-subscription HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/sw-engine.sock:", host: "server:8443", referrer: "https://server:8443/smb/account"
Differences between Websites & Domains and Webspaces
I'm a beginner in Plesk Panel and I've a "concept" question. So, which are the differences between Websites & Domains and Webspaces? There's some documentation about the definition of this three objects?
I have a manual instalaltion of wordpress, how I can associate it to a webspace and manage like an webapp installed from plesk?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just used rsync to backup a dedicated server to a new cloud server. I put the files in a plesk webspace 'Backup' folder for ease of use (gui). In File Manager for that webspace it shows the folder user and group as root, which is obviously correct as rsync maintains users etc?
Thats fine, I just wanted to be able to back them up along with the rest of the server configuration and content.
However, when I run backup it says "For security reasons, backing up is performed on behalf of subscription's system user. This system user has no read access to:" and "So it was not backed up. All other data was backed up successfully. To fix this issue you may grant access read/write to the file or directory for system user "(username)" or "apache"."
I don't know how to give read/write access to the system user? Through file manager there is no option to change permissions.
I used to have my apache 1.3.37 with PHP compiled as a CGI. Whenever i have a php script (say vbulletin forum software) that allow file uploads, files will be uploaded with the correct userid and groupid on the server. However, once i compiled PHP as ISAPI module, the files will be uploaded but will be owned by 'nobody'. Of course i can log in as root and chown it back to the right user, but it's a hassle if there are multiple user accounts on the server and they're using php software on their end. If someone is using an ftp program and tries to overwrite that uploaded file that's owned by nobody, it will not let them do so. Is there a way to fix this, or change the config files that would fix it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSomeones managed to upload a phishing site to my VPS.
How do they normally achieve this, there has been no unauthorised root access as I get e-mail each time someone log in as root.
Is it likely they've just managed to guess my ftp password, or is it going to have something to do with a script running elsewhere?
I've got solarvps looking at it now.
Shell uploaded - Site hacked - How to trace?
Many of my customers let me know that their websites had been hacked. I think it comes from local hacker ....
I have a dedicated server, the server itself is secure (as far as I know) and I run lots of my sites from it. I offered a friend hosting for his flash based chat application he built.
Today I was contacted by someone; "Are you the owner of xxxx.net?" so I informed that yes, it was my server and they then showed me an email they'd received from my server. I did a search and apparently someone uploaded mail.php and a couple of files it was using to send out spam based upon a variety of conditions that the other files met. The files contained forenames and surnames, it'd use a forename and a surname then send it to popular free mail services. The email contained ramblings about new world order and promoted a website.
How can I find out how they got the files uploaded to the account and what action can I take? I checked the whois for the domain and have their contact information, however it's a large site so I'm doubtful that the owner did it. I don't want my servers IPs being blacklisted for spam :|
I am wanting to know if there is a way to stop files being uploaded to my vps, via ftp cpanel etc that are malicious..
I have been told there is a way to do this but i havent been told how..
Basicaly i want to know if there is something where i can add a list of keywords that are in the malicious files and what ever it is will stop them from being uploaded or if they manage to get uploaded onto my vps will it make them not work?
I am looking into this as i had an issue before where someone uploaded a shell onto my server :@ luckily it didnt cause no damage or he didnt get anywhere but i still want to be safe.
I have a RHEL 4 plain server, and im using vsftpd server, i can not find an option to specify the max size for uploading files... does anybody know something about this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently started experiencing some issues where files uploaded through Joomla or some other scripts (mostly PHP) inherit a permission of 600. Prior to updates being done on the server I'm hosted on, uploaded files received 644 permissions and all things worked great.
I've checked the umask that assigned to the shell (022) and have ruled out that as a problem.
I am using a upload script for my files. After upload i cant see them on ftp but can see on panel file manager.
